System switching! (yet another tech update)

I can finally show this off. This is one of those things that I would work on for a little bit, shelve, work on some more, shelve again, work on again, etc because there was a lot of interesting plugin interactions that I had to figure out. Changing the SystemSet was kind of the easy part, but I had to account for:

  • The game clock has to draw from the System graphic instead of a separate picture, as well as from a "System3" graphic format I created.

  • The main menu has a strangely shaped cover up piece between the hero faces and the list items that has to be updated upon the changing of the System graphic.

  • My Party menu, Enter Name menu, Save menu, System menu & Other misc graphics had to be updated to draw from the System & System3 files.

  • The Save menu changes one of the child windows based on the System set used in the file being checked, while the rest of the menu uses the currently loaded System graphic.

  • FaceSet borders were changed to a black outline since it's more neutral than the brown one I had before.

The only thing I might change at this point is to make the "1,2,3,4,5,6" part into little color squares or something... whatevs.

(Ignore the weird character names. I keep forgetting these files had those for testing messages & line lengths where where names are mentioned.

Iesus, it looks so darn beautiful ;_;.
MY NAME IS PHILIPEEEEE AND MY ELEMENT IS FIGHT

This looks great. I haven't seen those menu icons before that I can recall, I really like them. The attention to detail is outstanding (like, the save files all keep their own colours!).

BORN FROM THE SEA
This game is really good so far. It has a lot of comedy relief and the story isn't too serious, which I kind of like. But I have a question.

Where in the heck did you get all of those facesets. How. Or did you make them yourself. I'm not talking about the 'easy to find' roco facesets.

Otherwise, This game is great!
I also tried to "UNZIP" the .pak file but everything I have tried it failed miserably. 7zip didn't work, neither WinZip, WinRar, even Unreal Engine and Online file extractors could not extract anything.

I WANT RESOURCE!!

Thanks! Glad you're enjoying it. The facesets that aren't roco are my own shoddy edits made specifically for Everlasting Journey. I manually added frames to all of them and used that green color for the background.

Correct. That's the whole point of it.

IMO You should just suck it up and get used to making your own resources like a lot of other indie developers out there (Non-RM and RM alike). It'll take longer, but you'll just end up with new skills and more self-worth! Otherwise, you're basically stealing things from other games, which isn't cool... although I can't talk, because there's still some EJ resources that are a mish-mash of other stuff.
