Legend of Denadel Demo has been submitted

The LoD demo have been submitted and will be up soon. The demo covers the first half of Chapter One, and might be a little rough around the edges, as only two people have tested it. Feedback is welcome; I still have to incorporate a few things like the new tutorial blurbs, but it's mostly a good look at what the first hour and a half of the game will be like.

You should also check out the maker to get a sneak peak at the Swamp Tower, the centerpiece dungeon of Chapter One!

I've been waiting these past few of days for this. :D

EDIT: And I'm done. It's a shame I wasn't able to do the third task on the board. I'm guessing that wasn't included in the demo.

I really do hope it was worth waiting for it ... so we are treating the demo as a beta test after all ...
So I played 15 mins (the best I could do at the moment!). here are my notes:

-Have a little one line description for the 2 other towers in the intro
-Animations for receiving items (hey, it is based on Hero's Realm after all!)
-Make roof tiles unpassable - having 16x16 charsets completely hidden can be confusing
-Big 'meh' on the RTP music - especially contrasted against the rest of the music in the game
-It seems possible to go past the dialogue of the mage and warrior in the cells by walking under the roof tiles
I played the intro and it was pretty weird being able to walk under the roof tiles as your character is completely hidden. Also, jumping around between MP3's and MIDI's makes the music very inconsistent. Pick one or the other, not both.

There's no RTP music in the game, except for the victory theme, which is pending.
I guess I'll make the roof tiles unpassable, since there's been quite a lot of backlash.
Thanks for pointing out the passable dialogue; fixed.
Descriptions for the other towers are pending, once I figure out something decent.
I guess I can do item animations, but it will probably be something different from HR.

As for mixing MP3 and MIDI, yeah, I'd prefer to do all-MP3. My biggest worry is that the file size (100+ MB) might detract some people using dial-up or something.

Exactly. Plus, it's a game with community influence, so it's only reasonable that it has a more open beta/feedback process.

As for it being worth it, I don't know. People have high expectations, and this is only a demo, but we'll see...

Yeah, it will be available once the characters have access to the rest of the castle/city walls.
