Hit targets with your rocket or burn them with your rocket exhaust to score as many points as you can before time runs out. Be careful not to lose control and hurtle off-screen!

A Flash game - the default download is a Windows .exe, but the .swf is also posted in Downloads.

Controls:
Left and right arrows turn the rocket.
Z fires the rocket.
X teleports the rocket back onscreen - this carries a penalty.
C pauses.

Tips:
-Try a light hand on the throttle at first.
-Spinning around with the rocket firing can be surprisingly effective at sweeping a large area.
-It's okay to go off-screen, as long as you remain in control (i.e., you're already pointed more or less in the direction you want to thrust). If you're not in control, you can teleport back with X even before the reminder shows up.
-It's generally better to focus a little more on quickly burning towards the beginning when green and blue targets spawn, and further on when yellow and red targets spawn work more on hitting. You get more points for hitting a target than burning it, but the same bonus time for either, and the earlier target colors are worth more time.

A complete game just out of the blue?

This is actually a slight interface update to a game I made a couple years ago and posted on Kongregate. (While I updated that version too just now, their video ads are now enough to make the game skip frames on occasion on my computer. That totally ruins a game as dependent on smooth controls as this, so I'm hesitant to recommend playing it there.) I was kind of taking some time off from the RM community at the time, so I never mentioned it here, or really anywhere, and it died in obscurity.

Anyway, it's not very flashy but I still enjoy the gameplay. I hope with the smarter choices of control buttons and efforts to make a couple things slightly more intuitive this will go over a little better this time around. If not, well, I'm sure I'll get at least some useful feedback.

Not bad at all. Here are my cents

It takes a little while to get used to it, but it's fun once you get the hang of it.
It's kinda hard to keep the momentum you have in mind (the arrow does help, but I noticed its function fairly late)
The buttons would be intuitive, if not for my European layout (Y and Z swapped). Some option for that would be neat.
Hitting them is very hard, tho.

The only problem I see is that you have no idea how you are moving once you leave the screen - redirecting is almost much much worse than resetting (which is already a huge drawback), especially considering the momentum you have. And charging towards the middle is no option, either, as you would just leave the screen on the other side.
I realize the point is to never get there in the first place, but an arrow or any indication of where you are would help a lot imho.
