You're an apprentice of the Fighters Guild in the kingdom of Whitecroft.

During troubling times, you're sent to deliver a message to a nearby town, however your mission shall not end so simply. Fight to uncover the corruption that is threatening to ravage Whitecroft, and become a hero of your kingdom. Help your comrades from the Guild and learn the reason for the unexpected war that ended the life of peace you once knew.

Well it has been more than a year already since Legacy of the Guilds has started.
I've been inspired by Daggerfall, Tactics Ogre, Fire Emblem, Might&Magic, a little D&D and many others. Hopefully it will turn out to be a fun game.

Download Updated to v0.07c - Lots of Bug Fixes!

Ok, I have updated the download.
The previous one had its fair share of bugs, that somehow slipped by me.
They should be corrected in this new version.

Bear in mind, there might still be bugs left.
I will do my best to fix them as they are discovered.

A HUGE shout-out to Roy, who was kind enough to report most of these bugs.
Also bigtime. All of your feedback about this is always appreciated.


Also, your saved games from the previous download WILL NOT WORK with this one. They might load, but will crash eventually.
PLEASE START A NEW GAME.

Version 0.07c:
- FIXED: After the Orc Boss, there is a chest. Inside the chest was supposed to be a reward item. The item is now correct.
- FIXED: More fixes concerning crashes and imbalances regarding some Blacksmithing recipes.

Version 0.07b:
- FIXED: A bug that makes all Alchemy Recipes unusable and crashes the game.
- FIXED: A bug that makes the game crash when attempting to forge certain items. I was due to a misnamed icon graphics file.
- FIXED: A bug that makes the game crash when attempting to attack an enemy without a weapon equipped.
- FIXED: One of the Blacksmithing recipes ("Copper Axe") was essentially free to make, leading to imbalance of resources (infinte selling, haha).
- FIXED: A bug that causes the final battle with Lucan to be repeatable forever.
- FIXED: A bug that allowed the player to leave the crypts before getting a key item.
- FIXED: Some tiny graphical changes in some text-boxes.
- BALANCED: Some tiny balancing on the ATK of some weapons available to the player.

Your game seems interesting! I had spotted it before, but wasn't sure if you were "Still Alive & Kicking"...
I'm Glad that's the case.
hmm, this game is really starting to appeal to me! If I have enough free time (maybe between breaks of working on mine) I'll review this. But, I think I'll wait for the full game to come out.

Just downloaded it and started playing. Nice game so far -- getting a bit of a Carlsev Saga vibe, but that's probably because of our common influences.

I can't see the finer details in the forest.

Also, I think the healing herbs should restore more HP, since some enemies deal as much damage as the herbs are restoring. 12 or 14 HP per herb seems reasonable.

Edit: A lot of the equipment seems a little too pricey given the amount of gold we're getting from loot.

I just found a gamebreaker for you: opening the door in the southwestern part of the tomb from the bottom end will freeze the game, probably becuase of a pass-ability error.
Deckiller is right, navigating at night is almost impossible!
I suggest you change the color tone to something a little brighter, just so you don't discourage exploring at night. Also, I can't even get into the tomb (I know there's a key hidden somewhere, but I just don't know where) so eventually I stopped playing, for today, then I forgot that I didn't save. So, long story short, if you're gonna put the save crystal idea in, you might want to put one on each map. :)
Feel free to discard my advice completely.

Nice demo overall -- definitely keep working on it!

Sounds like you'd enjoy my own game, Carlsev Saga, if you haven't played it. It uses some of the same mechanics and storytelling styles, but it's for RM2K.

We will try to tweak the lighting on the maps at night.
Also the bug with the crypts will be fixed in v0.03!
As far as healing herbs so, we'll discuss possibly increase the amount healed.
However, once you get the groups healer, fighting is a lot easier.
i realy only playd it coz friend told me to but it's a good game and i hope to see more addons for it ect...

I've seen your game and I've read all the praise it has garnered, but I haven't had the chance to play it.
Will certainly try and download it when I have time.

Now... about the feedback:
* I guess nighttime is too dark. Will make it lighter.
* Will definitely check the bug on the inner tomb, thanks for pointing that out. (By the way, in the demo, you can enter the tomb after Alexia joins, but that's just for shows... It'll probably be unlockable WAY later...)
* About the herbs, wowpebbles is right.... once you get the Cleric everything's a little bit easier. But, Deckiller, would you mind telling me WHAT exact enemy does more than 8HP damage to you? (Perhaps it's intended... Kobolds are supposed to be deadly for our inexperienced young main characters... It is only after reaching LVL3 that I think it's safe to try the Kobold Cave. -- Bees on the other hand, shouldn't be that deadly)... I think I'll increase the healing to 10 or 12, anyway.
* About the prices.... All those +1 and +2 items aren't really supposed to be cheap. Neither is armor upwards of Studded Leather... In fact, those items shouldn't probably have been included in the demo haha... They're just for shows... (Or was it healing items you believe to be expensive?)
You're supposed to be piss poor, as expressed by Noish when he says "we're almost ouf of money" at the beginning. But I'll try to strike a better balance. Make everything a little cheaper.

* About more save crystals... That suggestion will be taken into consideration! :)

I was thinking of using one or two, but I'm unsure if there is any issue with just downloading them.
