Since I am going to be rewriting my RPG engine, I decided to give out the source code for what I finished with my old one. I have a 25% finished RPG engine here, with the old fashioned scrolling textbox. I've tested the code, and it works on the 360. It also comes with a basic editor - something that the official Microsoft RPG kit does not come with.
The most bug-ridden part of this whole package is the Editor. There is a lot of things that need fixing with it come to that. But it works, with a few minor hiccups. It also isn't commented very well, but if you have a question about a certain part of the code, feel free to message me on here. You can check out the Readme included in both of the archives. Hope that somebody finds a use for this, and be sure to share any upgrades that you might make with everyone else:

You need a 360 controller to play the game in its current state. However, you can easily change the controls in the code.

Wow the engine is great. If you dont mind I might use some of the code you used in here. I started on an rpg engine but I ended up losing it =\
Feel free to use the code for whatever you'd like. I am probably going to be writing another engine soon. Right now, I'm working on my first commercial game title and a freeware roguelike. Good luck with your projects! :)
can't wait to see what you do with XNA. this is already pretty impressive for a learning experience.
