Announcement

Cancelled :-(

This game is cancelled because it was destroyed along with my old computer. If people want to know what happened to me I was banned for getting in arguments on the forums. (Read my user profile for more information if you wish.)

I'm starting a new game now. It's about 000000000.1% completed so I'm not going to upload it for a while lol. The game is going to be called "Alkemia" and it will be an old fashioned looking RPG on the 2003 engine. I'm writing out the characters, their personality's and relationships, the story line and the overall world and setting of the game at this point. So far it's going well.

At least my account is still alive, so eventually I will upload and move my small amount of subs to my new game >_<

I'm extremely busy with work and school right now so everything is moving extremely slow.

SMBX

I'm taking a break from working on my RPG "The Beginning" for a while. In the meantime I've been noodling with the Super Mario X engine and I am surprised at all the things that you are able to do with it. I always enjoyed the platform games on my old Nintendo systems in the past, Mario Bros was a great franchise that I appreciate as much as any RPG. I've decided to start a platform game with the SMBX engine as a break from working on "The Beginning" for a while. I think working on two games is a good way to not get sick of doing one thing.

Will keep everybody posted thanks and a happy new year to all of you.

Serious Databasing!

Some of you have heard even me say before the balancing in my game is totally out of whack. Well, after some serious sit down time with my game I've managed to balance the characters and enemy's out MUCH BETTER making the game in my opinion much more fun to play, here is a before and after example of what I'm talking about here.

BEFORE -

Miguel
Level 5
HP - 1220
MP - 800
Damage Dealt Per Hit - 600 - 800
Damage Received Per Hit - 300

AFTER -

Miguel
Level 5
HP - 60
MP - 20
Damage Dealt Per Hit - 10
Damage Received Per Hit - 8 - 12

See? Much better right? Well for now at least, I will continue to work on it more and more until I get it down to a science but for now I can say I'm much more happier with it.

Further Updates

Work on two new levels is complete!

1. The Village of Fairhaven - This will be a halfway point between Alkemia and Edery, Miguel is still trying to reach his sister but will have to rest in this Village. He soon realizes that the seemingly happy little Village is not happy at all and decides to stay and help.

2. The Mountains of Lothian - Work on the maps for this level is complete, now I'm trying to fit in some puzzles and a boss battle. This is the area that connects Fairhaven with Edery.

The End of the Beginning is in sight

The game will be coming to a close in the new year, I am finished with all the maps I am going to use, it is only a matter of linking up maps with the story and so on.

Now I understand there are a few problems with the game such as, grammar, and data-basing. I am hoping to get some help with these issues before I stamp the game "Completed".

So the end is in sight, I might release a demo before the final release, but probably not for the simple fact that I don't want people to get tired of playing the game.

Also I'm looking forward to seeing developments in all your games, good luck everybody I'll drop another blog when the game is nearing the end.

Last upload for a while.

Whoops! Found a few bugs again! So yet again I re-uploaded! So if you have already played the recently uploaded version you might want to play this one before you post feedback, but hey either way is fine. Do note that the game ends after the Soldiers Graveyard still. But if you care to download the new version that would be great, after this one I wont be posting anything for a good long while until I progress the game much further. Hope to hear some feedback also, thanks!

This page is for discussion and feedback for the game, "The Beginning."

Also I think before anyone continues to play I'm going to reload the game without the running-bug that everyone is telling me about.

Quick update

Still fleshing out the game, I just want the game to be as good as it can possibly be before I release a demo. I'm hoping that this will be a fun game that people will enjoy playing.

By the way, I played a game on the RPG Maker XP engine called "Vacant Sky" Act 1 Contention. It is my opinion, that this is the best game I've seen on an RPG Maker, and if you really want to see RPG Maker XP stretched to it's limits and beyond, play this game, it's pretty amazing. It is not listed under RPG Maker.net here's the link.

And I'm warning you... playing this game can be very inspiring, but very discouraging at the same time, I couldn't look at my own project for a week after playing this... but when I did get back to my project, I decided to try a little harder.

Hm I guess I should have posted this somewhere else but oh well...
