"Good luck running this map"

I don't know if challenging the player just to get a map to run is really what you should be aiming for. :p

I'm not. I'm actually going to have to dumb this map down, or find a way to dumb it down so most people (especially those with computers that are a little older) can run it. It would be cool to see if your computer could handle it though, huh? Lol
My computer is only a year and a half old, so I'd be VERY worried if it couldn't! That map must be exceptionally busy.
Yeah. It doesn't help that many Npc's are moving and on custom movement set-ups :\
Do what every great RPG does, subsection that town. Sub-section in quadrants, or in thirds. You could redesign it even and have named districts.

why you would ever need 3,000 events to do anything in rm2k3 is beyond me

A LOT of it is the 'animation events'... converting the main character's sprite when entering/exiting water and deep water tbh. But a lot of it is scenery/npc's.

Keep in mind that can all be done with terrain. You could probably drastically reduce the number of events here if you just had one parallel process event manipulate the hero's graphic when he touches the water as well. It's probably a better design choice, because what if down the road you decide to change that event? Email me and I'll help you optimize it. :)
