The New Disciples is a (COMPLETED) six episode ironic comedy that goes where no show has dared to go before! Follow the Messiah and his new band of disciples in the year 2010 as they try to update Christian principles for a more modern, globalized world. Watch as they tackle new and old issues of human rights, manage affairs between heaven and earth, and thwart the antics of evil in this fun-loving series for the ages (not 'all' ages)! (Show's format is similar to Family Guy flashbacks, so you'll find out how things REALLY went down in bible times). We've intentionally left out the funny pics because we don't want to spoil any of the best parts.

Cast:

"Guy"- The Atheist. Refuses to follow Christianity, but helps out anyway to prevent global catastrophes from occurring.

"Dude"- The Racist. Wishes nothing more than to bang the Messiah's mommy, and to put an end to all religions other than his own.

"Man"- The Invisible Man. Became invisible by some freak accident, and now he has lady problems.

"FTard"- The Schizo. Spends most of his time inside a moveable crate, spouting theories about the FBI and aliens.

"Buddy"- The (allegedly) Gay one. Spends most of his time annoying his fellow disciples with his cutesy ideas and his overtly feminine voice. (Does not appear until episode 4).

"JC" - The Messiah himself! Often confused about what is ‘okay' to do in this day and age, and turns to his new disciples to help him reconstruct the rules of the Church.

Guest appearances from: God, Mary, Marian, Peter, Joseph, Mark, Pontius Pilate, Richard Simmons, Ann Coulter, Mohammad, Abe Lincoln, Arny Schw...?, the angel Gabriel, and plenty more!

Episode Synopses
1- The gang questions new regulatory guidelines for sex.
2- JC visits his ex-girlfriend, incidentally the spawn of Satan, Ann Coulter.
3- Dude tries to bang JC's mom.
4- JC hires a new disciple. Gang tries to get him to admit to homosexuality.
5- Morals are questioned once again, and mostly ignored.
6- JC gets a surprise.

The comics are coming!

Here's the first preview of the comic adaptation of the New Disciples. Yes, we have a professional in the group. The title will probably also change from season 1 to volume 1.

The pages are looking pretty awesome so far. I'm working on the drawings right now and I've completely rewritten the entire first episode, which now reflects the style of season 2 (better characterization, long flashbacks have been cut, more punchlines with less explanations, etc). Reworking episode 2 right now. The comic format is proving to be much more effective than RM ever was!

As for the art style, I'll post some images VERY soon.

It was just something I did for myself in the beginning. I was bored one day, and particularly annoyed with the hypocrisy of religion. After writing down some of the dialogue, my room mates decided it would be fun to make it into an rm project. We didn't know flash, and comics would take too much effort. If you're asking in terms of plot, i have no idea where i came up with it really. The characters are loosely based off our little group of friends, and having jesus enter the mix just seemed like a funny idea.

So now, we get smashed and write new episodes that make fun of republicanism, 'cause we hate it.

Of course this was mean to be controversial, that's why it was made. It is a cathartic activity for an atheist who is trying to cope with years of baggage from growing up in a very strict Catholic school environment.

This project is not horrible, and I'm glad there some sort of reason behind it besides "lol offensive jokes". I've only watched one episode so far. And really... I don't know if there's anything in it beyond pure randomness. It's kinda sad that you compare it to Family Guy so often. It's not that Family Guy is funnier... it's smarter. There are subtle critics to society behind the jokes. Jesus asking God out for a beer while they discuss the permission of rape is not really a critic to anything, it's not smart, it's not a metaphor, it doesn't deal with relevant issues, it's just trying to ridicule religious figures.

Tell me how this is working out for you on getting rid of your strict education.
I wrote something quite long in response... and lost it lol.

I'm tired of defending it. If people find it funny, that's great. If not, whatever. We're having fun writing for it, even if we're not geniuses like Seth McFarlane, and I'd like to think it improves with each episode. Sorry that doesn't tackle the question.

Tell me how this is working out for you on getting rid of your strict education.

That was a real question, btw. If you say you did that out of spite for your strict moral education, it's not the same as "I was just having fun".

I'm not hating on your game, just making sure I understand it.
Basically being able to point out how slow the church is to adapt to societal changes, and how it only does so when it suits its own agenda... It helps me feel better about having blindly followed these beliefs for years without ever questioning them. It's sad that kids are forced into that kind of learning environment where they're discouraged to question these beliefs, and I feel as though I'm getting back at them all through this kind of satire. Even though it's just for personal reasons, it's fun to write the show with my friends and to get their reactions. There are a bunch of us writing for it now, so it has at least made some kind of impression. I could have made the characters evil geniuses instead to really drive the points home, but instead I made them misguided, so they can eventually learn from their mistakes as they go on.

Lone Wolf, or something cool.

I may be making a mistake here, but isn't insulting religion a offense?
The Rulebook of RMN sayeth that thy game is heathen! BURN IT!

Joking, I'll have to play this, then I'll tell you my real opinion.

@newdisciples
Not all churches change at all. The Orthodox Church, for instance, never changes.
