In the old Island of Azulea, the natives were pushed away from the land they once held. The ones who conquered the land have settled and created a new civilization on the Island. Now that the King is near death, there are 2 groups that are fighting for the throne.

You can change your class once you beat the 1st boss. Before then, you can choose which starting class you want your characters to be, out of 6 of them (Fighter, White Mage, Black Mage, Red Mage, Thief, Monk). You gain ABP after a battle, so once you get enough ABP, the character can learn an ability from their class. There are 40 quests in the game to take.

I have occasional updates on my tumblr on what I'm working on. I don't like to post EVERYTHING I do but I do want to get to working on a longer game this time!

If you're wondering... it's Paradise Blue, on RMVX Ace, that I'm working on now!

Haha, glad you enjoyed! Yeah I knew the limited encounters might be an issue but one of the most important things needed for the characters was the ABP so I needed a way to have players be able to acquire ABP just in case they need to switch classes or abilities and have no other enemies to defeat. Level 1 game is possible so I wasn't worried about that for EXP.
Ikr?! Ocean's games are brilliant. Try his other stuff too.
I DLed this game and forgot about it till recently when my PC exploded and my bro got me a replacement but it couldn't play most RPG maker projects...but this one it did so I tried it. @_____@ Amazing! Better than the FF series cause of how you made classes serve the PARTY! Seriously once you get used to it? That Ability system is brilliant and helps balance your party. At first I was angry when I realized your TES (Touch Encounter System) had no re-spawn but then I was quite pleased when I found the monster arena where you don't bet on fights, but pay to get EXP and ABP!! @u@ Frackin' brilliant!!
Paradise Blue, I choose you. Gonna give this RMN game a spin.

Every time. Basically if I change class I'm stuck with it and cannot open the menus anymore.

I am stumped honestly. I tried the version 1.8 I have on here to make sure and yeah I don't get this issue, even trying it multiple times. In fact, this is the first time I'm hearing of it. I will see if I can find a workaround though, sorry :<

This seems like a promising game, but before I consider getting into it, can anyone give me an estimated numbers of hours that this game will require?

It depends on how much of the game you want to play. You can skip a lot of the content because a good number of it is sidequests but you're probably looking at about 4-10 hour game.

Huh, that is a weird bug. How often has it happened for you? I don't recall encountering that.
I'm encountering a bug that when I change the class of 1 character it changes the whole party to that class. Then I can't open any menus and I am stuck with the class I changed.

So, I tried the game (only an hour or so, for now) and it's awesome!

Did you make the chipset graphics? Are they modified rips? And the enemies? Did you compose the music? I'm just curious :p

The overall look and feel of the game is great! Really well accomplished.

Am I not supposed to use the "row" command? 'Cause the characters get in the tree like ornamental part of the screen when I use it.
Yeah I couldn't get rid of the row command but there's no real need, you can beat it just fine without it.

Chipset graphics are a mix of rips, modified rips and custom. I worked on most of the pieces and added a lot but there are still things that were from FF1 or so, so I can't really take credit for all of it. It was intended to be just NES rips until I figured I'd just remake it with my style.

Music is mostly composed by me, I got some songs from Kaede and some from Dajhail but the majority of it is mine.

The enemy concepts are 99% from TFT (some contributed from kaworu and nessiah), but the sprites are all custom mine.

and thanks, hope you enjoy the rest of it too!

Planet Earth is blue, and there's nothing I can do.

That's great to hear! I'm glad people are still having fun with this! :D

I just recently decided to test a solo game version and see if I can beat the game with only 1 character. It was possible, and at times not as hard as I thought. Some battles that ordinarily don't give you a problem with 4 characters can be quite a challenge with just one though!
Been playing this for the past week and loving it so far! I really like how unique detailed everything is.
Loving this game, it's brilliant! Thank you for it :)
Aw Man! I had waited so long for an 8-bit rpg maker game in which the main characters TALK! This game is just so awesome, and there's a lot of non-linear-ish aspects!

Yeah, I think a really old version of PB had it but I quickly dropped the system. It wasn't implemented well so it didn't even make it to the battle templates in the monster groups. I'm not too much of a fan of the Steal system anyway so I figured I'd just do without and give the Thief some other abilities (Dash, Slash, See Hidden).

There's remains of the system still around in the code but it'd take a lot of work to re-implement it so I'm not likely to do so.

I might get a chart showing what abilities each character uses, think I'll do that soon.
I'm curious. Were you originally planning to make stealing an option? Not to double post or anything!
Hey, this looks cool- fantasy and old-style I like the look too!
I'm downloading it now.

Just realized i missed two superbosses in my lvl 1 game, oops.
Haha, sometimes people don't notice that they are there. Which ones didn't you get to?

Dark Spirit and Rage Fish. Probably going to do them soon...
