Starting now, the Eden Legacy: A Knight of Eden novelization (by Amerk <aka Andrew Merkevicius>) is being posted here on the Eden Legacy IV gamepage. Episode 1 has just been posted, and we will be posting a new one (hopefully) every week.

Amerk just sent me episodes 3-5 tonight, so I know that he has completely dedicated himself to finishing these stories. Make no mistake, these aren't the quickest reads either! They're quite lengthy, and I've really enjoyed the two episodes I've read thus far. He's definitely experienced in the Fantasy Fiction genre, and you need only read the first couple paragraphs to realize it.

I think this is a great way to get more people interested in the series and ready for the fourth game. Many have held off playing the games so far due to their 8bit minimalistic styles, but will want to know the background of the series before trying the fourth. Of course, it's not necessary, but it can't hurt either. In terms of story and characters, the novel actually has more to offer than the games do, so I believe this is a very worthwhile venture.

In terms of length, Amerk was hoping to do 8 episodes for each novel. It's now looking to be quite a bit more, moving from novellas to full novels. Eps 2 and 3 were originally going to be one episode, and the same goes for 4 and 5. We'll see what happens!

As a final note, while I'm currently about to upgrade all three completed EL games, I'll be introducing elements from the novels as well where I can. I'll talk about that when I make the new game page for the trilogy edition.
