STORY
The world of Alardria had witnessed the rising of the Hellborn.
Vile creatures who are thought to have spawned from the depths of Hell.
Lead by a colossus Hellborn given the name "Ruin", for as it ruins everything in it's path,
they went on ravaging and destroying anything they could.

It was up to the Sarian Knights a highly skilled, elite group of Knights from Acylia to defeat Ruin
and to bring peace back to Alardria.

The Sarian Knights succeeded, Lord Kilis commander of the Sarian Knights managed to kill Ruin
with the power of a mysterious Amulet that was bestowed upon him.
In the subsequent years Lord Kilis started to loose his sanity which lead to very unfortunate events
ending in his death.

10 years later, the story revolves around the two sons of Lord Kilis and the reawakening
of the Hellborn.

@ crystalgate, thanks for playing the demo and for your feedback. This is kind of like a movie/game, chapter 2 has quite afew cutscenes too.

In chapter 2 another battle mechanic is introduced on top of all that's there, should make things alittle easier.
The assassins backstab skill needed to be high damage so it can compare with the other characters damage over time skills which can do alot of damage to bosses. But with the new mechanic the assaissin will have abit more diversity.
I finished chapter 1. The story is interesting although way to cutscene heavy. Maps and atmosphere is good. The "boss" fight was surprisingly hard for being that early. I didn't get a game over, but if this game has a difficulty curve I'd hate to see the later bosses.

Skills are really powerful. Rapid Stance seem to double speed and it available immediately and Backstab has a ridiculous high damage multiplier. So far Backstab rendered anything else characters with that skill could do obsolete. The defend command also recovers a lot of stamina. I wouldn't suggest lowering it though, it just makes defending take longer instead of adding any actual difficulty.
@Super_ Stunner, Thanks for trying the demo and for your feedback, the boss fight is perfectly balanced, you just didn't use the tactic :) anyone should be able to beat him without the use of more then 2 potions.

You have protect your allies with Zack and have him guard alot to take very little damage from the boss.

Here is the full tactic. which was posted earlier.

Note: in the demo there is a "Boss" fight, if anyone is having troubles with it please use the tactic below.

Rapid stance Zack, Cast Protect on both other party members,
don't bother healing anyone else but Zack when they are protected.
Heal Zack with potions and first aid skill, don't let his HP get too low.
Make Zack use Guard often, to reduce the damage he takes by alot.
Try to anticipate when the boss is about to attack and use Guard just before
and Zack will take very little damage.

If Zack dies use Elixir of Life on him and re-Protect the others ASAP.

Use the assassin to kill the other 2 guards fast, with backstab.
Then go all out on Boss.

Using this tactic, you should have no problems with boss :)

And the save points are placed in certain locations (usually before boss fights) incase people forget to "save anywhere" and then die and have to replay alot of the game.

Well, I completed this game yesterday.
It was really good, very well done.
The card system is awesome, too, but I think it'd be better if you had actual attacking animations on hit when a card hits the other.
Man you really need to balance your game better. The first boss is too hard and the worst thing is that you cannnot train for it nor you can find or buy items. There should be always ways to train or to return to buy new items. And even then the boss is too hard for a first boss.

Also some of the lower skills do as much damage as a skill that costs twice as many stanima.

Even though the rest of your game looks interesting, your current balance don't want me to play further. I really suggest you take a note on this.

Btw why are there save points if you can save everywhere :P ?

@mongoosezxc, Thanks for trying the demo... I haven't came across that save error before, I'll have to look into it. Do you remember at what part you saved the game? if that sound comes up that means there is no save file, maybe it's corrupt or something. I can send you a save file of where you were if you want.:).
Hello AoA

I really enjoy your game but I have problem with it. I use WinRAR to open the game exe and that worked fine but I can't access my save file, which I assume worked because character sprites showed up in the save file box. Have you any idea what is wrong and more importantly if I can continue my saved game, as I do not want to reply what I already have (as stellar as this game is.) Specifically, the "No way" noise plays when choosing "continue" on the title page (beautifully animated).

This demo was a masterpiece in and of itself. The storyline is nice and engaging, getting you interested in the characters right from the get-go. The battle-system is simple, but difficult requiring just the right amount of strategy to win without burning through all your potions. The game itself is quite visually impressive, the sprites are really nothing new, but the mapping is solid, and the custom things (in particularly the menu and quite possibly the best inventory system, like, EVER.) really shine. The music is impressive as well, and touches a wide variety of genres. Great job AoA. Can't wait for the full version.

It is so badass that even though it is just one hour and VX engine it is a must a play. Totally not wasted time playing this one. Custom stufff is just damn like a mix of movie and game. Don t wait and enjoy it yourself
