This is the sequel to The Encephalon, a game made in 15 hours as a spiritual entry to the One Room contest. I started this demo (and game page) back in 2010 and haven't really touched it since; at some point the game page was accidentally deleted. I plan on polishing off this demo at some point, so it makes sense to repost the game page.

CLASS CHANGES DURING BATTLE!
Combat centers on real-time class changing, a system inspired by the Paradigm Shift concept from Final Fantasy XIII. Players can spend a character's turn to change the party's jobs immediately; their attire, stats, and skills are altered accordingly. Party members will revert to their default roles at the end of battle.

There are four classes: Fighters attack physically, Mages attack with magic, Medics heal and buff the party, and Disruptors apply DoTs and debuff enemies. Change classes frequently to stay one step ahead of your foes!

STORY
The Encephalon is a massive virtual reality stored in powerful mainframe computers deep within the headquarters of Vector Industries. When people die, Vector scientists can preserve that person's soul inside of the virtual reality: for a hefty price. In short, Vector scientists have created a virtual "Heaven": full of any adventure imaginable.

Lately, though, the Encephalon has been acting strange. Hackers have infected the Encephalon with viruses, which are manifesting within the servers as a world-altering plague. Scientists stopped the first wave of malicious code, but now the hackers are upping the ante - and they have the help of insiders within Vector's ranks.

Ice Queen Boss Draft

Here's a short video of one of the game's bosses. It shows the importance of the Disruptor class, as well as the need to change classes constantly. The final version of this boss will have a time limit - that's why it's so important to prevent the souls from buffing the Queen :D

This is a good way to develop a game.
Glad you're doing a sequel! This game seemed like too cool of a concept to just keep as a 72-hour project. I'd like to see this fleshed out entirely!

Thanks! If part 2 ends up going pretty well, I might make a full-length, no-limits game in the future.
Uau um mapeamento muito bom!
