A 40-level Mario game made by six different people. In this classic HUB world styled game, Mario battles his way through an underground maze of levels. Play as Mario, Luigi, toad, and princess in this addictive game, inspired by the community event: Super RMN Bros.

How to install
To play this game you will need the newest version of the program "Super Mario Bros X." Download it off of this sight: www.supermariobrothers.org. After you have the program and the game file, copy the folder "Super Desmo Bros." into C:\SMBX\worlds. The game is now ready to go!

Yah, I got my inspiration for the secret level from Kaizo Mario World. That's why the level's called Kaizo fun. Thanks for telling me about the save files! They've been removed.

I enjoyed Super RMN Bros. to a certain degree, so I was interested in giving this a try.

I had fun for a bit, but I hit my point of frustration at about World 4-ish. It was a combination of interesting, but flawed design choices (such as being able to get a Hammer power-up somewhere in a World 1 level, invisible water, or the Goomba level's "boss fight"), countless deaths (though the lives counter had a peculiar way of getting up to max at times), and weird pipe shenanigans that either make no sense, or put me a little too close to an enemy's spawn point for comfort.

The character switch is a nice touch that uses the character options that are new to the engine. However, I'd rather be able to have a power-up other than Super or Fire while being Toad or Peach. I half-expected something on the order of Saguaro Samba from Super RMN Bros in that regard, but the engine let me down.

Personally, I think this game can use a little bit more work. However, from what I understand, the Super Mario X engine isn't exactly the most user-friendly as far as level creation goes.

So I was showing my friend the SMBX engine and we played this game. I gotta say, this game works MUCH better as a 2P game. Some of the crowded levels were chaotic fun and not having to restart the level at every single death really made the levels more playable. Some levels and areas I don't even understand how it would be possible to do with 1P.

Question before I post a review this game:

Is there anything after the second battle against bowser? Where the Princess kills you after giving you a star?

Nope, that was the conclusion!
It was a terrible conclusion, btw. haha actually, the first time we got to that part we somehow managed to get the item and when we were supposed to be trapped inside the walls, we were on the outsides! I was on the left and my friend was on the right. We had to quit a restart and beat it again just to see if there was more and nope...we just died. haha we had a good laugh though cause of the glitch.

There were several bugs in the secret levels. I forget what they are now, but we did finally beat. But the biggest glitch was the pipe transitions, I would come out of a pipe from the top, be put inside the pipe a little bit, and the game forces you out the side of the pipe. You should either move the exit up one space, or just have the character actually rise out of the pipe like he/she should.

I found that glitch after I had already designed all of the World map, and just didn't feel like changing it. (Lots of work) It didn't cause me any real problems, though. As for the ending, I didn't really have any other ideas. I cheap and humorous ending was the best way to go!

Couldn't you have at least made Bowser a legacy boss as to take you to the credits? I didn't even have any idea that it was the ending as a result.

Anyway, I'll be posting a review of this soon.

That part of the level is a sliding part. At the top of the hill just hold down the down button until the checkpoint. Maybe I should make that more clear...
Ah, and here I was jumping around looking for hidden blocks lol Finished the game, with the bonus levels. Some levels were good, some not so good, but overall fun game. That ending really sucked, though! I wouldn't have minded it so much if there were some credits or something at the end.
Gosh, this is the twin Hub-World of Super RMN Bros. 2!
