TheGuy's PONG is a very basic and bug-ridden game. What you get is the bare-bones of a Pong game except it's more like air hockey (unlike table tennis). You can play against the computer (AI is simple but effective) or against another human player or your right hand using the arrow keys. You, yourself, use W and S to move the paddle and R to reset the current 'round'. To play either mode you have to load separate game maker executables.

The game mechanics are fine; ball moves as intended and the sole eight-bit sound effect is adequate. However, this game has got a game-breaking bug which makes the game freeze at randomly intervals. This occurs seemingly more against the computer and TheGuy has probably not got around to finding out to fix it so the reset function comes into play. On the plus side, this can be used to cheat your way to the 10-point cap to give you a false notion of personal accomplishment. There is no option to pause the game in case you're planning on doing a all-nighter on this game for whatever reason.

It's a given then that if you're after some Pong action, play one or many of the superior free versions available on the truckload of websites out there.

As far as the game breaking bug, I have been trying to find ways to fix that and i've been working to combine all the executables under one code. It's just been a bit difficult as of late as I've had quite a bit of stuff I had to do irl :|

Pausing is on the list of things that needs to be added (who knew such a simple concept was pretty complicated to code with my limited knowledge of GML).

Anyhow, back to the drawing board (or sheets of paper..) i guess :p

EDIT: and the reason that this whole thing was near forgotten is that I've been trying on the "The Game Creator Forums" to fix a game-breaking bug with one of their weapon model packs.. strange how they haven't answered in a month..
Understandable really, did you try making this to build up your knowledge of Game Maker or just was it meant to be build on at a later date? Either way, might be better to move on rather than try to make another Pong game. :P

It was more to build up on my knowledge :p
