Select Engine

There we go, the editor looks for engines in the 'engine' folder defined by each .eng file. It is a very simple text file with fields in their own lines:

RPG 20XX
Non-Commercial
This engine will work for most your RPG making needs in hobby projects. It uses FMOD-Ex for a sound API...
Sayuri L. Kitsune
rpg20xx.exe
fmodex.dll
FreeImage.dll
freetype6.dll
libsndfile-1.dll
SDL2.dll
zlib1.dll
font.ttf

It ends up being displayed in the project settings like above. This makes it easy to add additional engines you wrote or got from somewhere and can just shove them into the 'engines' folder.

Now that's what I'm talking about!
Awesome sauce!
Okay so.. you can write you own.. instructions or something?
To do some things differently?
Similar to a plug in?
I get the impression that "engines" will basically replace scripting that other makers have now days.(i could be way off base on that thought though)
Open source plz? :X.

EDIT: Ah, my apologies, my brain fault.
Says it's GPL3 software on the front page. Source code here.

Okay so.. you can write you own.. instructions or something?

On line 3
What do you mean by On line? I gotta be connected to the internet to make one?
That's gonna suck, my internet is crap and i am not connected all the time.

Just trying to clarify what you mean.
Back in my day we had things called lines in which we wrote text on.
I'm totally at a loss.. but i guess i will see what you mean when it's released...
From reading the document WolfCoder linked to, I believe this is supposed to be line 3: <Description of Engine>.

If I'm reading your initial post correctly, I don't think you were asking if you can write instructions in the description of engine, rather what you saying that instructions or, in other words, scripting, have basically been rolled into being a separate engine. Did get that correctly, MarkusT; that basically your post should read like this:

instead of reading each line of your post separately?

@WolfCoder: I noticed a typo in the <Description of Engine> portion of the Select Engine window; the word: 'of' is missing between the words: 'most' and 'your'. So, without the typo (and bolding to indicate adding of the missing word), the description should read something like: This engine will work for most of your RPG making needs in hobby projects. It uses FMOD-Ex for a sound API...

Also, this is really totally your call if you want to change this next suggestion, but might I suggest changing all instances of the base word 'licence' to 'license'?

I'm only asking for this to be change to enhance readability because even as a person born in the US who understands that the difference between 'licence' and 'license' is the same as the difference between 'color' and 'colour', 'licence' always looks like a typo. And, since understanding the license of RPG 20XX is important to protecting you and the users of your engine, it would probably be good for US born RPG 20XX users not to have use dictionary<dot>com to make sure 'licence' isn't a typo before they read the license. Basically, because the likely legal problems for your engine will pop up in US courts, it'd be good if US born RPG 20XX users don't skip reading your engine's license just because they think 'licence' is a typo.
What can i say.. i'm a moron.. i don't get stuff.. and it seems my questions make no sense.. i'm just asking if i have to be online as in internet.. connected.. so forth.. do things with RPG 20XX.

No need to be too hard on yourself. It's more due to a medical condition I have that makes it hard for me to speak out my thoughts coherently that I therefore don't take for granted the ability to be understood. Moreover, due to this personal history, I have more practice understanding the underlying speaking tone of written language (such an understanding helps me to personally plan out how I'll say things out loud). Due to this understanding, I was able to decode that in your initial post you were writing like a person would talk and therefore certain lines that you typed go with certain different topics you were addressing.

Anyway, for this new question you're asking, I don't think WolfCoder would want to make an internet connection necessary to do things in RPG 20XX. I say this because having an internet connection be a requirement would drastically slow down RPG 20XX, and from what I tell by reading a lot of WolfCoder's updates for RPG 20XX, any programmer worth their salt should always make a program so correctly and so efficiently that their program is always lightning fast, has no lag, YET is incredible stable. AND, if the program doesn't fulfill those three criteria, it should be rewritten until it does.

He means there are multiple lines of text and you want to look at the 3rd one.

The place you are looking for, is on line number 3 of the file he linked when he first used the words "On line 3"(click on that).

This has nothing to doing with internet.
No wonder i did not get it, i did not realize it was a link, he never said click the text, and i could not tell it was a link.
You gotta tell me these things, otherwise i don't realize things easily.
Read through it, i read the entire thing.. i still don't get it.. but that's alright.. i can always just try it when it's complete to get a full idea of what can be done...
Sorry for not getting it.
I think all of you are being ridiculous, I didn't think a simple text file would turn into some deep psychological exploration.

I don't mind be called ridiculous because isn't that what the internet's all about: simple things unexpectedly spawning copious amounts of odd, yet interesting discussion?
I never said anything about anything psychological, i just was not getting things.. when you're ADD(attention deficit disorder) at most you tend to be slow and have a hard time comprehending things.
That's how i am anyways.. a lot of things have to be explain to me like i'm an idiot... which is sad to say.. i feel like one at times.
