Build Update

Note: the update hasn't been released yet

I might have to release a new version early because I'm changing compilers from Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 to Microsoft Visual Studio 2010. Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 and 2012 had that ugly and annoying Metro style to them, and they generally felt sluggish and things were moved all around the place.

Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 is the last one to feature the familiar tried-and-true layout that was established, modified and perfected over decades. Sound familiar? With this change in compiler, I will have re-run all those tests to see what versions of Windows it will run on. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't run on Windows XP, it should work just fine.

You will have to make new projects since the program data was added to events. Attempting to load an old project with events already on the map will crash the new editor. It's nothing now while nobody has started a project yet, but I took steps to add extension markers to the project format (.2XP) and map formats (.2XM) so wild changes to the format will not break your projects.. since once the engine executes event scripts, people will start trying to make real games (and encounter real bugs!).

I'll try to include some critical bug fixes. Here are the currently known bugs:
- Engine may crash during startup if a game controller is plugged in
- When having multiple projects in one directory, test play always chooses the first instead of intended one
- Fill tool has bizarre effects when filling using multiple tiles selected
- When creating a new project, if you click cancel during the save file dialog, editor crashes

You'll be able to create and program events, but they won't execute during the game engine in this release, that will be in the next. The system graphics, fonts, etc. will be a large task to complete and it must be completed before the events can be executed, so I'll make a simple testing release in between.

I can't truly believe that there is a custom engine that is actively developed and managed. Huge like to the whole project, and I hope to try the new build out soon. :A
Don't give me any credit just yet, many people have tried making an entire classic console style RPG creation suite, but they either fizzle out or release with something either really confusing to use or substandard.
This update is just for testing mostly, I said the actual execution of events will be in the next one.

I am still holding out hope for this.
