Release Date

Alright, I fixed the event <-> hero collision trigger so that it actually works. Turns out I never really did implement it in the first place and I don't know why. It's the classic on-screen enemy encounter catalyst! I've also added more to move event commands, which includes the change graphic move command.

Here's a dump of the rest of what I've done since last time:
- Added support for multiple RTP folders and RPG Maker 2000 standard folder
- Fixed: reporting an event with no name crashes the engine
- Added conditional branches and while loops
- Added calling of common events
- Added calling of pages out of other map events
- Added common events that are parallel/auto on switches or not
- Fixed: Touch/Collision didn't do anything for event triggers
- Fixed: Events weren't transparent if that box was checked
- Added some more move commands like move to hero, change graphic, etc.

Now for the release date. I'm going to try hitting March 20th for the beta. It might still be unfinished, but it should be possible to play and make games with. Hopefully I can integrate the rest of the database as easily as before.

Will the engine be able to load an 2k/3 iconset (like the way people have custom emblems in their games) from an external file, so when we replace the RPG_RT.exe file from their original one to the 20XX one to play their game, it will still show them correctly?

Ugh, am I explaining this well enough? Do you get what I'm talking about?
I'll beta test also. I hope RMN realizes that we have someone in our midst building an engine from the ground up, which presents an incredible opportunity. I'm going to bug report the hell out of this thing.

Yeah, I made a post about it. But you'll have to convert it since exfont symbols are now 16x16 pixels and in 32-bit color.

I heard about EasyRPG first, but it seems development is so slow. As you mentioned a big cause for this is their large team size and their large project requirements (Linux, Mac, and Windows; editor and engine, all in parallel). Yours is more feasible, you work fast, and you listen to the community.

Don't get me wrong, I'm excited for EasyRPG--I wanna play my RPG on the Wii and PSP just as much as the next--but you're just so involved in the community it's impossible for people to not get hyped about this more. Frankly, I'm excited as hell for this release, though I know it's going to be a bit before my project is playable on this engine.

If you're so anxious to begin, you can download the engines from up there and see how it reacts to things. I've started including the instruction booklet as well.

I might do a marathon run on this project and release Alpha 4 out of nowhere since I fixed some pretty annoying things.

One thing that might be nice to add would be the ability to make your own custom title screen by turning ON/OFF the default so that it just jump to a map you've created.

Also, WolfCoder, if you can finish this, you will be remembered forever. No doubt.

In 20XX mode, just have nothing entered in the New Game box of vocabulary and the game will just start at hero start position as though new game was pressed.
