Good morning starshine! I'm looking for a half dozen or so willing testers to try out the beta of Episode 3 as soon as it's done (which should be by next Friday because I'm totally not sidetracked by Uncharted 3 right now). If you have a few hours to spare between November 11th and 22nd, let me know!

Gimmicky prizes may be awarded; we'll see!

I tested last time, so I might as well continue the trend, I suppose.

I would love to, except, uh, Skyrim. So, no, but best of luck.

w o w how insulting, please don't compare IMTS to an elder scrolls "game"

Deltree, if you or someone has has some Ch 2 saves I can grab (long story short I lost my saves and only have old ones from chapter 1 and 0), I would love to attempt to bug test this time for real haha.
I can probably send you a copy of one of my saves. You'll be outfitted with some pretty nice gear, too, since I spent a lot of time grinding for quality 7 components.

what.

Oh my gawsh you are teh productivest-cum-awesomest guy in the world.
Count me in !

Oh, and mellytan, you shouldn't be so harsh with the elder scrolls, they've got the best in-game books and secret lore you'll ever find in any game, period. Other than that, of course ... Well they could be great, really.

what you said is actually exactly what i think of the series.
what i was inferring, then, is that IMTS has both excellent lore AND is a good game.

Maybe if Detree cloned himself he could double his already astounding productivity and add in-game books as well...

Aren't the Typelog articles already like in-game books? :p

Anyway, I'll PM you to see how I can transfer the saves.

I hate RPG Maker because of what it has done to me

Oblivion has Argonians. IMTS has Lacertians. All is well.

I can't playtest this version sadly due to life. :(

Attention tester people: I'm trying to upload now, but it keeps timing out. I will keep at it (hopefully it will be up before tomorrow). Eyes peeled!

Second version of the beta has been added (I dunno if it triggered a notice message). Fixes Kara's personal events, and a bug in the first mission, and a lot of typos. Also adds a new feature to Expert/Masochist difficulty levels. Let me know how it goes!
Haha thanks, but Kara is now stuck after her second dialogue. She simply ignores me whenever I try to speak with her. She really doesn't like us, does she ?

Also, the expert mode is indeed more challenging and fun with the new feature (and I'll keep looking for the way to access the masochist level), although as of now I only tried fights on random maps which are somewhat lacking in hard enemies (still poor Luke's become real cannon fodder, he is killed before he can do anything in most battles). I'll start the chapter once again, at least to see how hard the bounty hunts become in this mode.

By the way I'm very happy since the fragment frequency has increased, fragments are so much better than loot !
Hasvers, if you really want to know, I figured out how to access the Masochist mode (Deltree gave me a big hint though :p).

I cannot agree more. :D I am eager to update the TV Tropes page with the new fragments once the episode is released proper.

Speaking of that, though, Deltree, you might want to make it possible to find fragments elsewhere. There are just so many of them, and I doubt people will go on more than a few random missions over the course of normal gameplay (the only reason I've gone on so many is because of the fragments and because I have no life I was waiting for the next episode), let alone enough to find all 25 in every splice set. Maybe if you removed the bindings to specific splices, so that people wouldn't have to go back to get ones they missed...that causes new problems though. I suppose it's your call in the end.

Bug noted! I will also be tweaking a couple merits in the next version.

The fragments are basically meant for OCD collector types, but I might consider enabling them in mission maps (I made a separate function so there was some reason I did it this way but I can't think of it at the moment).
hello hello, here with an opinion, another opinion, and a bug to report:

- idk if it was just me but I really was not feeling the first puzzle with the sliders. Why not have the Evalutation scores always displayed for the player, instead of making him/her always go to the console to check? It would be less annoying that way.

- "I hope to perceive these advantages" (Dr. Kara dialogue just before battle iirc) --> Maybe say "observe" instead of "perceive," it sounds less awkward and even makes more sense since she's a scientist.

- Mission to escort Eros lab: in the second part of the mission when the Lesser hoard approaches, in a battle with a lesser group that caught up with me, right after I killed the last enemy the game let me access the battle menu by pressing the menu button, instead of ending the battle. The battle only ended after I exited out of the menu. Not a game-breaking bug or anything but just thought I'd let you know since I didn't have anything else to report, great job on ep 3 :)

Stuff noted, thanks! The slider puzzle is supposed to be a binary representation, so I didn't want to make it too easy/obvious.
