Super RMN Bros 2 is the sequel to the community event, Super RMN Bros. where everybody could make Mario levels and have them all placed into one single game. The weapon of choice? Super Mario Brothers X v1.3, a (now dead) PC game made to create and play Mario style levels with a mix between Mario Brothers 3 and Super Mario World physics with enemies and obstacles spanning Mario 1 to Super Mario World!

What You Need to Play Super RMN Bros 2
You need the creation tool used to make RMN Bros 2 to play it: Super Mario Brothers X v1.3 available here! Run the installer, download and place Super RMN Bros 2 into the SMBX "Worlds" folder, run SMBX and play Super RMN Bros 2!

Super RMN Bros 2 Officially Completed!

It's done and out! This is, barring any dumb bugs I missed, the final version of the game. No updated levels, no new submissions, just finished. If you downloaded the game prior to this please redownload and restart as some world map changes will fuck up your save file.

So please, download and enjoy!

Sorry for taking so freaking long everybody, I won't be in charge of any future Super RMN Bros. because I am doing a terrible job of it. I'll leave it to you guys to decide how to carry on from here.

So how's the project coming? Are we done fixing levels and on the compiling phase?

I believe my two levels are all set. Focusing most of my Mario energy on Super Doki Doki World :)
I've gone through all the levels again and fixed any extra small issues I could while assigning a few themes to each level and a difficulty (now out of five). Each world now has a general theme based on the difficulty of levels and their themes (lots of easy levels are basic grass levels so World 1 has a grass theme! Shocking isn't it?). Some are shoehorned in but besides a possible level swap I'm not going to touch the current level-world placement. I mapped the hub world and Worlds 1-4 and placed all the levels in them but I still need to test that all the map levels *work* but I'll save that for the end during a final test of all levels.

I still need to Map World 5-9 and make a starting castle (aka Select Character, get mushrooms, get 1-Ups, some sort of "oh no it is bowser go get 'em mario") and change stations for each world (aka Select Character so you don't have to go all the way back to the castle to do it, maybe Mushrooms too). Once mapping is done I need to make sure the paths generate correctly (there's no initial map appearing, I found a fix for that) and you can enter all the levels and they have the correct information come up. Maybe change some difficulty numbers too but I don't think anybody paid attention to those anyways.

I'm going to take down the feedback blogs soon for cleanup purposes. If there's anything you want out of them do it before Friday!
You can change characters anywhere on the world map.
whoa neat. How do you do that? I need a Toad to explain that so everybody knows. *

(Now that I think about it, there's another NoWin level I forgot to fix. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah)

* Except for people who don't talk to toads and will complain about it later
Like everything else, it is not intuitive. (And I can't remember off the top of my head).

Letmee check...
Press start on the world map then move left/right
Pause by default is the Escape button, I believe.
Sweet, thanks. That should save me a bit of time!
If you want the oposite of intuitive controls look at the $10 Terrania. Terrible controls for a side scroller. The controls need a mouse. Makes me want to vomit playing the game.
Last call for anything from the blogs. Gonna nuke 'em when I get home reinstall smbx so half my graphics aren't fucked and post some gameprofile stuff.
Watch as Duke Nukem Forever comes out before this is done.

XD...

Heres a completed world map for Rmn bros 2.
The level icons are blank.

Please let me know what you think.

Edit: Thanks =D
It encompasses a total of 55 levels (6 or 7 per world on average)
Theres also a cave section if you scroll to the far left, a cloud section (Top)
and a lava region (right).
Feel free to modify it to fit RMN2 bros.

I think it is EXTREMELY detailed, I love it. I can tell you put a lot of time and effort into this. The only suggestion I can make is that it is difficult to tell which world a given level is in. Try moving around the signs that say 1, 2, 3, 4, (etc.).

You said "The level icons are blank", do you have enough level icons for each level in the game? And if so, do you know which levels are going where?

PM THIS MAP TO GRS

It looks good D Port, but Red Spirit said most levels would be accessible right from the start. Yours is one by one.

I still don't see why we can't just have a strait-forward hub level like in Talking Time.
