And now I shall wait...

For my testers to send me their reports. Then I'll sort out whatever problems they've spotted ( whether it is battle balancing, grammatical errors, graphical errors, the works ),I will fix it, and then add in the cutscenes that I'm planning. For now, the demo link is removed, to be replaced with the full game link soon.

So I ask all of you to be a little patient. No idea an 8 hour game will take to test though...

Try getting people to test it in chunks. It's very hard to get testers to run right through a game...then again the game I'm thinking of was bug laden and had many-a-area where you wanted to tear your hair out, and I don't think you suffer from the same issue.

But yeah make sure you test each section super-thoroughly, in the longer games it can be hard to actually test everywhere.
Yuna...the two links I got for the testing dont seem to be the game. One is just text and the other is an audio file. Maybe I am missing something but I cant see what it might be. Right now both files are sitting in a new folder.

Roy, is one file is ERD_Final.exe and the other Test.002.002, right? Personally, when double clicked the .exe file, I could start the installation process, but at some point I got some error preventing me from completing the process. Instead I opened it in 7-zip (I'm sure you can use any .zip program except whatever is integrated in Windows 7/8) and extracted the game files from there. Let us know if that worked for you.
I re d/l everything and this time it worked....thanks.
I wonder if I can uae my save files or is it better just to start over. Is it essentially the same game up until where it ended last or is there a lot of new content?

Is the file 2158kb in size according to Windows Explorer?
So far it seems the new one is essentially the same as the first demo. If there is a bug that I have seen so far is just that when you get kronur(?) it seems the last digit is covered over.
Also I am stuck after meeting with those two messenger guys and we are all one happy team...we are supposed to go west to get a ship but there isnt one....whats next?

Yes, the money reward message does have the coin cover the last digit of the amount in the textbox. I haven't gotten that far yet and don't remember what I did when I played the first demo ...
I dont think in the first demo we could get that far...it ended after the two guys told Laine who she really was.

OK. Hopefully you didn't ruin it for me ...
Maybe some spoilers here so read carefully or not at all....Ok...the cave to the far east which was blocked before but is now open...it is way too easy to get lost in...too many holes to chase rabbits ( so to speak ) and get lost and I think there is no heal point. It is very confusing and I ran into some slimes way into the cave which killed me in no time. I am thinking of trying it another time or two but it is too large and confusing.
Not only that but when you are in the bandits cave there is a gate which needs the bandits key to get into, plus once you enter the bandits lair there are sparkling items you can see. After beating the bandits you are taken back to town and emerge from the Inn...you dont get a chance to find/use that bandits key to get the treasure that you saw in the bandits lair. And thats another area which is a pain in the butt to navigate back to that point. Both of these are doable of course but no fun at all.
IVE TRIED KILLING TWO SEPARATE BOSSES AND THEY SEEM TO BE IMMUNE TO EVERYTHNG.
I REALIZE BATTLES ARE BASED ON SPELLS CAST AT YOUR ENEMY BUT IT WOULD BE GOOD TO GET SOME SOLID HITS SOMETIME. I KNOW SIGLUD IS A HEAVY HITTER BUT EVEN HE DOESNT DO MUCH DAMAGE AND THESE MONSTERS ARE HARD.
IN THAT DESERT TOWN YOU CAN TELEPORT BACK TO CAMHAIL BUT YOU CANT TELEPORT FROM CAMHAIL BACK. CAMHAIL IS THE CLOSEST PLACE YUO CAN BUY STUFF YOU REALLY NEED. THAT TELEPORT IS BROKEN RIGHT...I CANT IMAGINE IT NOT BEING TWO WAY SINCE YOUVE VISITED BOTH. ALSO WHEN CAN YOU USE THE WARP MOTE? SINCE I CANT TELEPORT BACK TO THE DESERT PLACE FROM CAMHAIL I TRIED USING THE WARP MOTE AND NOTHING HAPPENS. oops...sorry for the caps!
Sorry for thos caps above.
st this I have to say for the average player, the pages which show your enemies stats is a bit confusing if only because there is so MUCH to look at. I understand the colors mean such and so but when a green is just outlined instead of solid what exactly does it mean? All these debuffs and stuff just seem overkill...dont get me wrong. I like knowing about my enemy but also I think that for developers who are used to looking at everything from statistical and mathematical angles, this comes as second nature, but to a simple chucklehead who just wants to enjoy playing, all this info can be tedious to work through.
By the way all my team are at least lv 18 and with all sorts of good spells but I have yet to beat either of the bosses so far. Even using spells which they are supposed to be weak against they either absorb or are immune to.
I think the teleporter system should be more straightforward and if youve been to a place you should have the option of going there. As it is it seems to be a round robin affair. Go HERE and from THERE go HERE...as if its a big loop.
Also when for example you are given a clue where to go next and you forget and go back to ask you dont get a response. Either a journal or allowing them to regive answers would be good.
Is it me or does it seem many monsters who are, for example, weak to fire, the next round they suddenly become immune to it? It doesnt happen a lot but enough that I notice it.
There isnt a proper QUIT aspect.
At the end of the battle and there are no drops ( more would be nice ) and Patrick whines...Laine they didnt drop anything, I want to choke the little prissy prick. Gee Patty its pretty obvious they didnt. Or his Violence is not the way, I just want to stick a broomstick up his butt and fling him off into the distance.
I still see no one has mentioned the item/kroner bug which is enriching me nicely.
Just where will I end up once I find those walls to blow up...am I then nearly through with this?
Sorry for so much stuff Yuna and maybe some of it is just nit-pickery.
I like this game...otherwise I wouldnt have pointed out all this malarkey.
Ok....I am finished my Patrick whine fest.
When will the NEXT demo arrive on our doorsteps?
I personally never found Patrick annoying. I mean, he's a priest. He ain't Sephiroth. Of course he's not going to like violence. I also think it's interesting having a character like him be paired up with a battle-hardened mercenary. It keeps things interesting and gives the two characters a lot to work with.

Actually I agree but his delivery is so wispy. He sounds as if hes about ready to pass out with evcery breath.
Well, when you first meet him, he says something about being really sick all of the time. Laine even mentions how his colour is returning to him, which basically tells us that Patrick is not exactly the picture of perfect-health.

Yet he still wishes to accompany Laine throughout her dangerous adventures, which shows that he does have strength, just not the physical kind.
@Roy: Exactly what bp said. Its because of Pat and Laine's dynamic that makes things so interesting at times. He's one of my favourite characters to write.

But thank you for outlining the other gameplay stuff there. I'll take it into consideration. I may have to add a Journal-type script to keep track of story and side-quest events.
Hmmmm now I feel like I was being a bully to our Patrick. I do understand and appreciate the dynamic even if it seems otherwise.
I also agree that you should add a journal/quest log feature. The one I'm using for LINUS is stupidly easy to use and works very well when it comes to telling players what they should be doing. :)
