1000th download! Yay!

Woot! Milestone achieved! I think that Hidden Gem Spotlight helped a lot. Thanks, kentona. XD

Now that the proper Review Ready version of Lady of the Lion is ready to release soon, I can now start diverting my attention to the second volume of Enelysion. Finally! <3

I was thinking of ditching some features ( like the Compose Item ), redoing some ( KGC's Stat Distribution does not allow the player to redistribute AP in the current game; Vol II will allow players to do so ) and generally, add more actor customisation options (since I know players LOVE breaking games with uber-powerful character builds XD. Okay, maybe not broken, but yeah... ) and generally, add more replay value to the game itself.

Now here's the problem. Do I make Vol II standalone, or just tack it onto Vol I as an 'expansion pack'? This approach will allow players to keep their current save games and they wouldn't need to download the whole game again ( at 194mb, it is fairly large >< ) with Vol II inclusive. The game would remain unencrypted for easier patching and expansion. On the other hand, this approach will probably result in the whole of Vol II's game balance being wrecked due to the numerous stat boosters found throughout the game for your characters in Vol I. Either I make the enemies real powerful and more of a challenge, or I do an entirely new project, which truth be told, is even more of a headache. >< Given that Vol II isn't a sequel sequel of sorts where it takes place centuries down the line ( new characters, locations etc. ), it would probably be more prudent to keep Vol II as an 'Expansion Pack'.

So? What do I do? A little guidance perhaps? ;_; ( me still waits for a review for Vol I of EHD... How am I doing, people? Crappy? Great? So-so? Some feedback? Pleeeze? I left RMW because of this, just so you know. If I could exchange those ridiculous 'Likes' for feedback, I would have had over 600 feedback replies by now. )

Btw, which game do you think I should prioritise more? LoTL or EHD?

That's my persoal taste but if volume 2 is the continuation of volume 1, then please keep both chapters in same game. So players will be able to contiue with what they build/got so far in your game.

I would think it is up to you to decide which game to prioritize. It seems to me working more on LoTL might sound like the better option, unless you things have lined up and are really inspired for Ev2.

Regarding Ev2, it sounds to me that making it standalone for several of the practical reasons you mention, to which I will add having a pretty page for showcasing its virtues, seems to way to go. It would kind of continue a tradition followed by some of the developers of series of games I have played and liked @ RMN which are not quite sequels or prequels of the earlier ones. I'll mention Dark Gaia and Deltree as examples of this, to name a couple.
Expansion pack, please. As for the stat boosts you threw in vol1, you can test with a fully boosted party or something, and see how far ahead it is compared with a regular party. If not, try throwing some percent-based damage moves and that kind of stuff. Some things that make an "advanced party" to consider being cautious.

And I don't know, I want both :X,

Considering your decisions above, better to have vol. 2 as a different game / stand alone game by itself, and so the players don't have to play the vol. 1 first to enjoy the vol. 2. Save file import is a nice idea for this :P
I was thinking of making Vol II ( or; as it will now be known, EvII ) standalone. I wanted to redo quite a number of things, including the database ( if any of you have actually opened up the game in RMVX, you will find that it is a bit of a mess XD ) and rehauling some features like I mentioned in the OP.

While production on EvI was slow, I should be able to crank out Vol II at a faster rate, having far more experience with the engine than what I had when I started the project more than three years ago. Truth be told, most of EvI's cycle was delayed due to endless graphical revamps, rather than actual progress on the story. I can only thank the stars above I am not using the parallax mapping technique. Otherwise, this game would have been nowhere close to completion.

As for the idea of expansions, I was thinking along the lines of new maps, quests for EvI. Basically, things that introduce replay value. However, I won't touch this until I've done a good portion of EvII.

So for now, I will probably focus on getting Lady of the Lion to around 6 or so hours of gameplay ( my target is 20 hours, so I have a lot of work ahead >< ). But like I said, I value feedback. LoTL's testing phase is even more intense than EvI's since I can't afford to muck up stuff if I'm planning a 20 hour epic.

And I seriously need to do a separate website for my games now. Seeing as I can't have more than 6 primary pages here. :3 I'll notify you guys when I have a Wordpress/Tumblr site up.
