Eventing goodness...

So, I was messing around with some eventing last night, and inspiration just hit me like a bolt from above.



I've managed to event in-game biographies while accessing it from the main menu ( thanks to the amazingly customizable Yanfly script ). Hooray, I'm sure it's a huge achievement ( sarcasm implied ), since it's so easy to do. XD

I also have an idea to event a skill-tree system as well, done in the same graphical style as the new in-game character bios. Maybe even include all in-game information in a separate section, which will also be accessible from the main menu.

I could probably replace the whole 'purchase skills with JP' system that way, as well as including mastery skills. It may take a while to do all this, but I'm sure it will be worth it in the end. Seems like the eventing bug has bit me. ^^

For the curious, this is what the in-game bio looks like now...Looks alot prettier, imo too, and matches the rest of the colour scheme.


It's animated as well, and it plays a custom BGM track/SFX in the background. So you don't hear the normal map BGM. ^^ I'll get a video up later on.

Hmm... I should probably add more info to the bio section. Like state resistances, elemental strengths and weaknesses. There seems to be enough space.

As for Chapter one and two's combined release dates, I'm aiming for a gameplay time of around 4.5 - 5 hours? Does that sound fair enough? :)

Also, I think I'd rather see resistances, elemental strengths, etc rather than DOB/weight/height and Zodiac(unless this holds importance?)

@InfectionFlies: Haha, yes, I do like seeing lots of nice images instead of walls of text. And I'm sure I can fit in all relevant information (like strengths, weaknesses, etc ) without making the bio seem too cluttered. As for the PCs personal information, it just makes them seem more... human, if you know what I mean?

As for the CSS, all credits goes to Miracle. She's awesome at stuff like this. ^^
One thing I would say about that bio screen is FONT SIZE IS EVERYTHING. I mean it's really pretty but I would change the less important info to a smaller size just so your eye knows what's important. Stats/resistances may not be important depending on what you're going for. I wish I could see it animated though! :<

Also I don't think images are necessary for a blog but they do help to break it up a little.

Haha, I knew you were a guy. xD But yes, a lot about you seems misleading, such as your avatar. (note: this isn't a bad thing at all)
But yes, Miracle is a CSS genius.

@yuna21- I totally understand about giving the characters more depth and making them more human. This is especially good for role-playing purposes, if it ever came up. :P
And yeah, I'd change the font size up, it is pretty and isn't that big of a deal, but I agree on the point.
Something like this, maybe? It's still a WIP. I'm thinking of what to add in the lower right section. Looks far better now, imho.

I think he should still shack up with Laine. Forever my OTP.

I think you can nix the part of his bio saying he's turning 24. It seems like such a random add that you can address in game rather than on his bio really.
@Ron: Yes, I really do like the idea of Laine and Pat together but... we'll see how it goes. There's actually an in-game incident which makes both of them more aware of their... uh... feeling for each other. ^^ Pat's a good, guy, you know. He deserves some happiness.

I know it, because I do it all the time. It's more fun to make people go through hell than just kill everyone! 8D
@emmy: You read my mind. That's exactly what I'm going to do. Stomp on their little hearts, break it into a million tiny pieces and nurse them back to health again. *evil laugh* Patrick is such a Woobie that I can't help doing stuff like this to him. ^^ He's a perfect example of the tvtrope, 'Break the Cutie'.
