Jul-07-15 Celebrate IGMC 2015 and the release of RM2k with an old favorite

To celebrate the release of RPG Maker 2000, and the start of IGMC 2015, Dragon Kingdoms III is going to come out of hiding. Could there one day be an official RPG Maker 95, too? Rather than just being an unofficial RPG Tsukuru 95 game.

Mar-19-13 Featured?

No, it's not quite as lofty as Game of the Month, but being featured in the Retro section isn't too shabby!

So, what's next? Well, I have been working on an RPG Maker VXAce remake (for the first time since 2006, the Trilogy of Legends is back on one maker!). Hopefully this one goes well. That just leaves one game in the series that hasn't appeared on RPG Maker XP, VX, or VXAce. But that's something for another time!

Jul-01-11 Is this the Cycle of Fate?

Nope, it's just a seasonal shutdown. Hopefully RMN can turn around before the middle of September... also development will be slowed during this period.

If anything major does happen, it will be at this site.

Jun-13-11 There will be a remake before very long

It's hard to believe it's been so long since this game was made. Really, it was made before Final Fantasy IX was released in North America. Windows 98 was the newest operating system at the time. So, why is it I come back to it as well as parts I, II and V?

Sadly, unlike Dragon Kingdoms I & II (which run on SNES emulation which probably isn't going to disappear anytime soon- if ever), this game is on an almost completely unsupported engine that as WolfCoder says, may not even work on future systems.

RPG Maker 95+ already had to be hacked once to get it to work on Windows XP, Vista and 7. It might not run on Windows 8 when it's released later this year (the same might be true of RM2k & 2k3, but RPG Maker 20XX takes care of that). Therefore, Dragon Kingdoms III needs a remake more than any of the other games in the series for this reason.

May-25-11 The summer of Dragon Kingdoms

Feel that? Unless you're in the southern hemisphere or in the Arctic, it's almost certainly starting to get really hot now. It's only one week to June as of this posting. What's even more shocking is that Dragon Kingdoms III (for RPG Maker 95) will reach 12 years since development started just a week later, on June 8th. Dragon Kingdoms VI also started development in June, on June 26th, 2010 in fact.

It'll be interesting to see what Stencyl will bring to the table on June 21st and also, what Enterbrain is going to do aside from releasing a new Asian-style RTP set this summer.
