Needs Improvement!

Total Chaos is a game taking place in a somewhat modern society. The player finds out he is a prince, and must live out his destiny. The player then dives into a slew of dungeons to defeat the bosses.

Let me start by saying that it is nice to see someone at least making an effort to get away from the typical mainstream RPG game. Having said that, this game is in need of some huge improvements in just about every department! So let me break this game down:

Story: 2.5/5
The beginning of the game was alright I suppose, with the prologue and whatnot. However, once it got to the actual story, it was just, well, too simple I suppose. Some dog from "The good side" tells you that you are a reborn prince, essentially "The Chosen One", and you go into dungeons and fight things. It really wasn't very good, but at least some of it was a step in another direction.

The dialogue was also quite a downside for me. There were so many spelling mistakes, and so much confusion in the way that the game was written. I had to explore the whole town to find the bakery in the beginning because the directions were so misleading. Hence, I give you a pass, and nothing more.

Graphics: 1.5/5
Come on, seriously? The face sets were terrible! The main characters face set didn't even come close to the main character! And the mom's face was a joke! Not to forget that you had mixes of anime rips and real pictures. Come on! Having said that, at least some of the chipsets were alright, but even they had their flaws. Your character never actually looked like he was sitting in the chair, he just stood in front of it. Absolutely brutal.

Atmosphere/Mapping: 3/5
Some of the mapping was actually ok. It did feel more modern, and it looked alright. However, the fact that you had 4 buildings that all looked the exact same next to each other was quite a downer. Also, a lot of the dungeons looked like you just used the dungeon maker, and then scattered random chips all over the place. Overall, the mapping was alright.

Music: 3.5/5
The music in the game was also alright. Pretty standard midi stuff, but it was fitting to the game, and that made it decent. Not much to say here other than that.

Playability: 1/5
Seriously, this game just failed in terms of balance. Early in the game, the dog just bites everyone, and makes everything simple. Then you get the boxing glove for José, and he powerhouses too! Now you just rip through anyone and everyone in your path without contest. Simply put, the balance was too far in the player’s court. The game was easy, and it just isn't fun playing a game that you don't have to try at.

Overall: 2.5/5
The game is alright, but definitely needs to see some improvements. I wouldn't recommend this to friends, or anyone for that matter. What I would recommend, however, is that you read this review thoroughly, and think about what I have said for any future projects you make. You have potential, but you need to spend more time making sure you develop your story, and go over your dialogue. With the amount of time it must have taken to write that guide, I am sure you could have spent some more time proofing your game.

Better luck next time.

I think that the disjointed facesets and story were an actual stylistic decision. It is called "Total Chaos" after all.

But I haven't actually played this so I can't say anything else.
If that were indeed a stylistic decision, it'd be a really bad one.
well, keep in mind I made this when I was 17 years old. I made this project for sheer entertainment purposes and nothing more.

can't make a bad game if you don't finish any games
