Catharsis demo v 0.20 - easy

This is an good and enjoyable game, I specially admired the art, it´s elaborated, well-made drawings were quite eye-catching for me (not 5/5 because music it´s not my style, but good nevertheless!) give it a quick play, I bet you´ll enjoy the introduction! And since it´s a demo migh as well play the full ride, it won´t hurt!

-character background and development (4/5)
There´s a bit of character development which fits well a demo, of course we cannot see the full picture yet but it presents a good start. Character background is lacking in the sense that we don´t know personal values, background and motives of the protagonist, (her “way of life”, or mottos, or her human experiences or feelings) so we cannot relate to her, but it´s a good setting for the game (besides this may be too subjective of me, as this is just an adventure game)

-soundtrack + graphic design and concept of art (4.5/5)
Graphic design is good; we see full pictures of the characters that are very well made, besides the scenery and enemy monsters are interesting to see. The soundtrack fits well the atmosphere. This is something I don´t see all the time on this kind of games.

-interface and user interaction (4/5)
It is quite comfortable and enjoyable, easy to use. Thanks to that the game goes by fast when playing. I must point out that leveling up is not that attractive (since one does not learns new skills, or see his stats grow up; just part of the energy bar for spells grows a bit) also that there´s no free-healing zone so one must be careful when battling monsters, so as to make the effort worth the reward. However that is part of the game´s interaction, as monster are made in such a way that can be avoided, so that makes it interesting.
Also, there are some unclear functions like what the chain bonus is for, and how to equip certain skills (after the protagonist finds a certain item she can use a new skill but is necessary to equip it and no one told me, you know, it´s automatic sometimes)

-story development (4/5)
There is potential for a rich and detailed story, the setting we get into, just that there are some unclear details (maybe spoiler)
are Ryales and Misbah of the same country, or different countries? Dejanor belongs to one of them or is independent? Why is dejanor in such a poor state, is it related to Ryales, Misbah or both, or to Aidus?
it may be good to give hints for that (I think it is also good to leave it as it is, so that the player tries to make suppositions as how is the real situation) we also don´t really know how the protagonist is related to the background story, but that may be explained in the future.

Final score: 4.1
