There is now a website you can use to share your custom content with other users! But you're still welcome to use this page to share and discuss content.

Below is a list of finished custom (user-made) content. To add these characters, in most cases you can extract the downloaded file to the game's main directory and you're set. Depending on how the author has organized them, it may be necessary to move files to the appropriate directories. (Custom content has not been tested by me)
Note: After new content has been added, old saves won't be compatible.

If you have posted custom content in this thread, I will (eventually) add your link to the list above, along with a small screenshot if you have included one. Be sure to test your content in-game before posting.

Helpful things:

--> Medium build girl, the .psd that was used to create the built-in characters, is available with layer names in English.

--> Not feeling artistic? You can use any of these images for making custom characters.

--> Notepad++ with syntax highlighting for Heartache 101 can be a big help with story creation.

--> If you are writing story content that includes the appearance of existing characters (built-in or custom), the following list may be of reference:
ID 0 = The Player
ID 1 = Nakajima Miki
ID 2 = Ikeda Keika

SO! I took a look at Rika's files! It's amusing:D The plot is a great idea, and the whole route has a nice, funny mood to it. Save for the ending, which is EVEN BETTER. It's just fantastic. You better come up with a happy ending soon though, this alone is way too depressing:/ If I had to point out a fav, I'd go for Story 201(What's with these large numbers all over the place? Where is the first one? IT'S CONFUSING MEEEE!), though it would be even funnier if it looked like he had a choice to begin with before he chooses. You can also cut corners here so the text file won't be so large. Like this:

A: Accept.
B: Reject.
C: Think about it.

BRANCH A
JUMP D

BRANCH B

BRANCH C

JUMP (story number)

I'm sure there are other places where you can conjoin text, It's a real storage saver! I should know. Kyouki's route is huge!... Like, Emiko large!(har har)

The grammar's fine, if a bit confusing and off. Alas, I guess that's moot right now.

That whole zombie thing in the first event is just off. Why did he think she was dead in the first place? This sort of silliness would fit cloudheaded people like Keika, but the Player? It's funny, alright, but it's just out of the continuity as a whole. I'm no doctor, but I'd check her pulse first before trying to bury her in public! Or at least call the school nurse. How about a choice, at least, so the dialog you already wrote won't be wasted?

Also, Miki would be out of her mind to tell someone about the race. It's kept a secret by the player for a reason, you know. Again, Keika is of course completely fine with it, but in my honest opinion, that's just another very, very good reason not to spread it around... So I don't think Rika would know about it. Maybe if Keika was running her mouth? Since it's important in Rika's story for her to know about the race I'd go with that option instead.

On her custom responses... they don't vary much. And she mentions the player's name an awful lot. This one in particular sounds kinda lame, too:
'Hi <player>! let's talk about lots of things!'
Tho is she was intended to be a bit awkward it's fine. I don't know if she was, so I haven't done anything to this one.
'This one, you say?'
Yeah, well...I kinda got carried away and ended up fixing grammar errors and rewriting about one-third of the whole profile -.-
So there you have it. Let me know what you think.(I had no idea how to rephrase response 60, so I left that out. I don't even know what response 70, 74 or 94 had to do with the context they are in, so those are goners now as well.)

The plural form of music is still music, by the way.

Rika vs. Takuya arc. Niiiice. Tho why doesn't the player ever try to point out he's not gay is beyond me. This is the kind o' thing we need!:D

All in all it's very promising. Keeeeeeep it up:) We'll see what else we can polish when you set the grammar right. I'd feel compelled to fix each and every mistake you've made if I read through the whole thing that intently:/

Emiko is large, yes, but it's not her story that is what is large about her!

I hope to get around to Rika myself, but I'm fairly busy with other matters.

I see, honestly I'm not good with happy endings but I'll try my best.
Since I have to stick with Midori's concept, Hanabi's route will surely still be depressing.

for their first meeting, don't worry, there's a reason why Player reacted like that, though for now I'll focus to Hanabi

hmm, I thought I read that a rumor about Miki and Player's race was actually running around their school... I should change this one later

about her custom responses
I'll take all of that into consideration *this is why I like copy/paste*
I think you're talking about Shihoko's route. There is a rumor, but not about the race. People think the two of them(as in, Miki and the Player) are dating.

And good news(In a sense)! I'm down with a fever so I'll have a lot of time on my hands!:)

Who am I trying to kid? I totally just got LordNight's Midori update, and will probably do a play-through of it. I won't promise to do pages upon pages of notes with the character, but I hope to provide a second opinion about things.

When Kyouki gets a release, though, I swear that I will set aside time for that character, and provide pages upon pages appropriate amounts of feedback. I doubt I'll set aside a text file that will grow to 79 KB (That's how big by notes-file for Heartache was when I initially beta-tested it, and I still have that file somehow!), but we shall see when that time comes.
question: is it possible to add custom sound effects?
hmm, like music tag without the repeat function?

I want to continue the test of courage arc on Hanabi's route and it will need some... horror/suspense sounds~

The MUSIC command would cause whatever comes after it to auto-repeat. To simulate an SFX, I think there would be a MUSIC command, followed by a spoken line, then a "MUSIC = None" line. Probably.

I see... I'll try that

I was wondering if anyone could make some athletic wear for Pink Elephant's Kisaragi model? i had a great idea while i was in the desert and thought that too pull it off i would need something a little bit sportier here are some old tachie i reworked since then if you need a base to work from http://tinypic.com/r/9jhfn9/6 neutral and http://tinypic.com/r/2yp18vc/6 friendly i should have the story done later today or early tomorrow
Well I'm back again. (Sorry for the few months I went silent)
I'm not sure if I'll be able to continue with Emi (I'll find out in a couple of days) so for now I'll be releasing what I have done so far (about 80% of her story but no endings)

@triad2: I'm pretty sure the alternate "Mitsuki" model might have something like that, but you might be on your own for "Kisaragi". I know I'm not quite confident with my skills to make an edit like that!

@SlientPheonix: Let check her out!

*Edit: Well, the tachie for Tsukino Emi was a bit off in places. Not bad for a first attempt, though! The story, well, I didn't play the character, but I at least skimmed through the story file. If nothing else, I noticed that when a change of emotive stances occur, it happens between ERASE CENTER and SHOW CENTER. This isn't necessary, and it resets whatever music was running. Unless MUSIC FREEZE was being used, and I didn't notice it's use.

*Edit 2: Emi's ID# is 9. Which is the self-same as Watanabe Junko. This isnt' necessarily a bad thing, but players with both Junko and Emi as active content would... um... well, I don't know! I figure there would be an error message, or maybe one of them will just be randomly disabled, or something. Iiiiiit's testing time!

*Edit 3: Okay, I was able to get the INTRODUCTION events of both Junko and Emi. And I think I know why. I recall a question some time back about someone who was supposed to have a relationship with another character in a different profile. I answered by saying it would be written as "id# IN profile_name.txt". From what I understand, the tactic worked. While the ID numbers of the characters in that situation were different, I propose that this is a similar situation. The game must be able to differentiate between the "9" in Junko's profile/story and the "9" in Emi's profile/story.
OK Ty Marrend i do have another option i didn't want to have to do it this way but i can make it work i think
Matching ID is only a problem if the characters are in the same file. Theoretically, so long the two characters never actually meet in the same story, they both can have whole sideplots each with a third party; all you'd need is dodgy file management. But who knows when'll someone have a fantastic idea, and this is the only thechnicality preventing him or her to do so? Chance<0=too much, considering we have no limit on IDs. Or if we do, I'd guess it's a rather large exponent of two like 64 or 1024.
I got the story done I'm going back and editing somethings is there a way to have the player and a character talk at the same time like they are interrupting each other

I think I understand what you mean. Like, let's consider the example of a story file with this in it:

game_profiles.txt, jun_and_aoi, emi.txt

STORY 1
PLACE = Roof
INTRODUCE = 9
# Remainder of story

With how things are now, this is where the game might misinterpret something, or give error message, as there are two characters with an ID of 9 within those files. Like you said, the chances of someone wanting to do make a story where there are overlapping character ID's is rather low. The possibility that SilentPheonix didn't care also exists. In the end, it's up to him/her/it/whatever to change the ID to an "empty slot". That goes for KimotoDragoon too with the Yuu/Aoi discrepancy.

Side note: Overlapping on Nekochi's IDs aren't we?
That doesn't mean I can't ask. We have to consider everybody here. Just as politicians should consider the minority when making decisions, except they never bother because it won't get them anywhere. I don't want to be anything similar to those guys. At least they should know about the inflicting IDs. I'm not forcing anyone, I'm just giving a notice.
my story is done its edited to where I'm ready to post I am just having a little trouble picking out Miki tachie which would be best to use if the player just woke up after getting hurt?

Would it not depend? If he's waking up in the nurses' office, I can see Miki being NEUTRAL, or just having some kind of "I told you so"/"I knew this would happen" face. If he woke up with Miki just walking by, she might be OTHER1 (That's her surprised look, right?). Though, flowerthief might have more insight on this matter.
I don't want to go into details but hes been unconscious for more then a few days

Another chart for you! This time it features the named characters' (presumed) class affiliation(not pursuable chars are in italics). I made this one for no apparrent reason, other than being bored.

@LordNight: We have a helpdesk?O.o I mean, aside from this forum?

Wow, this chart is super impressive! It even took me a moment to remember who Ryoko was, I didn't expect anyone else to remember her, much less the two Juns who are namedropped as possible identities for the "Jun" that Aoi is talking about. I'm glad the story I wrote was able to have some impact on people. *touched* (Though you did forget Miki's little brother Koji and his friend, Chiemi's brother, Shintaro. If I ever get around to do more work on those three characters, I might use those two for Aoi's classmates, since Aoi has a planned cameo in Yumemi's route.)

I recently went and played Joruri's route (or most of it, haven't gotten the ending yet) and I just wanted to say that Aoi's portrayal looks fine. The only thing I might change is to have her have a big smile on her face and say "Byebye, <player>!" before you duck out or something since she's not the type of kid to keep frowning so long over a little thing like that.

If anyone wants to use any of my characters in their routes, that would be fine with me. This especially goes for Kyouki, Dozen, since you envision them being in the same class. I really wanted to have something show up for Junko's relations when I was making her route, but the only way to do that would have been for Aoi's name to show up on your stat screen and I wanted to make it very clear that Aoi was not datable. I wasn't able to show her as being in Keika's class either as Keika already had two relations.

Anyway, sorry for being gone for so long. I kind of got distracted by something else I'm working on. I'll try to be around more once again. :3
