This page is for showcasing and discussion of user-created content that is reasonably complete and ready for play.
(The old Custom Content thread with its 50 pages of discussion can be found here)

To add these to your game, in most cases you can extract the downloaded file to the game's main directory and you're set. Depending on how the author has organized them, it may be necessary to move files to the appropriate directories. (Custom content has not been tested by me).

As an alternative, players may visit the Official Custom Content blog (aka "OCC blog"), which links to a ZIP file that contains these files, and then some. In this case, the ZIP file may be extracted to your main directory.

Note: After new content has been added, old saves won't be compatible.

List updated! Thanks, Garage!

As an aside, I did a backup of data no more than a half-hour ago. Annnnnd, I had to look up what the hell "HTC" was. I thought it might have been from this post, though.
You're right. Both HTC and SOSC refer to resources from said post.
BTW: have a look at my folder structure please. There are Credits.txt files in the Tachie/SOSC and Tachie/HTC subfolders. They provide details.

Done and done!
Kitsune is hereby declared finished.

Content: Tachie, Story, Profile
Character: Hayashi Kitsune
Credits: See "Credits.txt" in the Subdirectories of Tachie
Requirements: none.
Download: kitsune_v1_0.zip

Kitsune is a bit ... special. For starters she's not from the same school as (almost) anybody else.
She has absolutely no interaction with any other girl.

Sorry for the late response, I was too occupied with important things previously.

To answer your question, yes I did. Some parts of the story I found sad, and others were quite interesting.

Today is just not my day, is it?

*Edit: Images replaced with the thumbs from the OCCD blog.
Greetings, everyone. Apologies for my extended absence, but I've been catching up with the boards over the past few days and am very happy to see that this game still lives! I am working on playing through the recent finished content. I've been through a good chunk of Kitsune's stories, and I very much like the concept and the execution (and LOVE the character design), although admittedly it feels a bit out of place in this setting. Just barely getting started with the Winggirl Pathways addition (I've only seen a few stories of Shika's so far) as well as Grace (and intending to revisit Robin as well), but both are intriguing. Having now played through a fair amount of the original Winggirl material, I found myself being a little surprised at just how much help Himeko gives <player>. Maybe that could be dialed back slightly?

Also, I'm considering doing an update to Noriko to add a few stories, and may even dust off Takako if and when I get a chance to play with the new tachie generator. No promises, though...

Well, she's supposed to feel out of place somehow ...
Did I overdid it?

Hmm. Does she really give him to much help? Where exactly - or are you just talking about the stat boost?

She's sipposed to be helpful since
you have to invest quite some time in her and she isn't a real option for winning the bet.

Hint for Pathways:
if you don't like Himeko's help just tell her to leave him alone. He'll meet her cute (but initially angry) cousin then. And if he fails the twins' "game" instead, Himeko will still be there for him, but much less of a help.

Ehhhh, that's hard to say. I tend to be the type of player who prefers to be able to immerse myself in the game world, and Kitsune is a spanner in those works. However, since she is designed to be a spanner, it all depends on whether or not you want a spanner. If you do, I think she works quite well. It's just...i'm not your target audience, I think.

Right. I think it's just when you take all of her help together it might ruin a bit of the fun of the player finding these things out on his own. I haven't played all the content yet, but
are there any girls about whom she knows absolutely nothing? That might balance the scales a bit, and add another dimension to her. I'd suggest Akari might be a good choice for this.

I will have a report ready once I've downloaded and played with it!
I think you should PM me any list of typos since I made sooooo many of them that it would blow this board to pieces ;)

@Himeko: OK, maybe she shouldn't spoiler that much about the build-ins ... on the other hand she doesn't tell anything that isn't on the original "set-card" from http://heartache101.3eeweb.com/ - at least that was my intention ... I'll revise that part.

About Nevermind ./. never mind ... yup I do that way to often ...

she was ./. she were ... hmm 'thought both were possible in real world conversations (even if "she were" is - of course - technically wrong here).

*EDIT*: my currently favorite ending story is Mayumi's when you manage to achieve "* ending with either Mayumi or Hibiko available *"
It might be considered a bit lengthy, though.

*laughs* Very well! From now on, I'll send you what I've got periodically.

she was ./. she were ... hmm 'thought both were possible in real world conversations (even if "she were" is - of course - technically wrong here).

True, "she were" is possible in certain rare circumstances... just not this one ;) .

One last thing I'll put here, though, just because it might only be me that is bothered by it, is "Cya". I've seen it in a couple other people's content, and it always gets my jimmies rustled because in my head I hear "Kya", which in Japan is kind of like a girl "squeeing" (i.e., a girly expression of excitement). Maybe it should be "C-ya" (well, really "see ya", but I'm not here to bash text-speak)?

*EDIT* One LAST last thing, and this is something I'm surprised I've never noticed before -- someone else may have, so forgive me if this is old news. In my case, I'm noticing it more because I've got a whole batch of custom content turned on with Clean Mode off.

This is a problem with the game itself, and since there are never going to be any more updates it's more for the sake of information. I've noticed that if you are in position to have two imperative events in the queue at the same location, when you trigger one of them the other one gets flushed and will never be triggered. Here are a couple of examples:

1) There's a story toward the beginning of Keika's route where you meet her at the gym. For me, this was still pending when
I went with Robin to the gym after one of our meetings at the Internet Cafe
. I then went through the entire rest of the playthrough (about 75 days) without seeing the Keika event despite going to the gym 10-12 times.

2) Toward the end of Yuu's route, there's a scene where you meet her in the Children's Park that is necessary to get her ending. On the same day that got set up, I also triggered an event for Akari at the same location. When I went there, the game showed the second one, and despite going back to the park 5-6 times after that never got the Yuu scene.

3) In the same playthrough as (2), there's a scene with Yuu
where you meet her at the Shrine to play games. I had that in the queue for several days in-game when a scene popped up with Kitsune where I needed to go to the Shrine to meet her. When I did, I met Yuu instead, and after that I never saw Kitsune again
.

Not sure what we can do about this -- the more custom content that gets developed, the more this kind of thing is going to happen -- but I thought I'd let everyone know about it.

If the intent of "Cya!" is to mean the phrase "See ya!", then I would tend to argue for "See ya!". Or, at least, "C'ya!"

*Edit: I suppose my personal preference would be "See ya!", though.

*Edit2:
Cait Sith: Gah-ha-ha and Kya-ha-ha are up to something. Wanna listen in?
About cya / see ya ... well those are all kids (maybe with the exception of some 3rd years which might be 18 ... then again in Japan the grown-up age seems to be more like 21), many of them would use cya or cu in written text ... but I get your point and I'll change it.

You're sure about the blocking each other events? There's plenty of must-have-events like on most routes so it should've been noticed before.

Hmm. You didn't - by chance - edit something during these playthroufhs?
You can *extremly* easy confuse the game.exe by changing the conditions of *any* story and then loading a previous save. You can even break the "records" file by just adding or - heaven forbid - a few stories such that the game aborts with obscure some string errors.

As for your first example ... there's a "CONDITION = DAY NOT 40" on the STORY you missed ... and the on Yuu's route the Children Park event isn't "PRIO = High" ... so there's no guarantee ...

And Kitsune ... hmpf. There way to many scenes with her at the Shrine so it's hard to tell.

*EDIT*: for reasons of drama I do have a few stories which require him to be at certain location or make a phone call on exactly the date where the event is scheduled. This could easily kill a route for good. (I use it very sparsely ...)

Not necessarily. I don't think any one person has attempted to run all available content concurrently before the OCCD existed, and I think dewelar mentioned this blockage before when it first came out.

Saying that, if this is a bug, I'm not sure where the solution could lie, or how much content Heartache can take before it runs into this issue. I suppose all one can do in this regard until we learn more is not have everything enabled via the content manager within Heartache itself, or manually remove content from the appropriate directories to elsewhere?
I did run OCCD with all available content enable at least twice ... but it's near impossible to keep track (at least for my little brain). There's just too many girls ... on one of those playthorughs Miki's INTRO didn't appear before day 40 or something.

Thus: if you really enable ANY and EVERY content you'll need at least some luck to get anywhere with any of them.

I thought so at first, but then it kept happening. I only listed three examples, but there were others as well. The three I listed were done to show that there was no specific pattern -- one with custom content overriding built-in, one with built-in overriding custom, and one with custom overriding custom. As far as I know, I haven't had issues with built-in overriding built-in, although
it may have happened with Chiemi. Her events are so rare that I can't be sure whether not getting them is a result of this or not.

I wouldn't be surprised. Proper QC means you do stuff like this on purpose to see what breaks, and it's been a couple years since I did a large-scale playthrough like this. Technically, I didn't have all the content enabled -- just Robin, Winggirl/Pathways, Kitsune, Grace, Yuu and my own Noriko. I generally enable Yuu because she seems particularly good at breaking stuff for some reason.

That's pretty much all we can do, I think, barring a return visit from flowerthief. Maybe we could put some kind of warning up?

Also...the situation with 3eeweb seems to have gotten worse. When I try the link, I now get a message saying the server DNS address could not be found.

I totally hear you on this point. I mean, there was a brief period of time when it was active, and I was able to snag the pictures that I used for that's site's FAQ in regards to making a ZIP file to extract in the appropriate directories. However, at this juncture, I get a "Problem loading page" error when trying to get to both the main page, and the administrator log-in page?

*Edit: I mean, this kind of thing has happened on numerous occasions before. I've more or less abandoned the official site because of this instability. RMN FOR LIFE!
Debugging that kind of stuff would be hellish anyways. "Try to schedule two events for the same day at the same place and see if one of them get's blocked" ...

From testing my own code: there's plenty routes within WingGirl alone that require Kazuhiko to meet one girl or another at the library ... as far as I recall it never broke this way. OK maybe I met - say - Shika instead of the twins and Himeko ... but they were there the next time.

What makes telling if there's a real bug even harder is that not all "let's meet at X" events are high priority or have a simple condition. Some - like Keika's gym event - have a timeout out, others are just "PRIORITY = normal" so you'd need either luck
(or the stars must be in you favor).

Plus: even if you change just ONE condition in *any* STORY you can easily break existing savefiles; happens to me all the time ;)
