The information below is for testers, but anyone with bug reports, suggestions, feature requests, etc is of course welcome to post here.

Thanks for offering to help test the game. I hope you enjoy playing it despite it's imperfect state! I'm eager to hear feedback and criticism on pretty much every aspect of the game, but especially the following:

1. Gameplay
I think this is the most important thing, because if the core gameplay isn't fun who will care that the characters can be customized? Testers, please play the game and tell me honestly what you think. What aspects are fun and what aspects could be more fun? How is the difficulty? What things would you do to improve it? Of course please report any bugs you encounter.

2. Customization
Please mess around with the customization features; there's bound to be plenty of bugs and issues I haven't considered. You don't need to create content you would ever share with others. Just play around and see if you can do the things you're supposed to be able to do. Try creating a character or two and writing a little bit of story for her. Again, what you write doesn't have to be anything serious, but see if things really work.

3. Story & writing
Please give me constructive criticism on the story and the writing for the built-in characters. What do you think of the characters? If there are bits that you think should be rewritten for any reason, please don't hesitate to tell me. I realize some of the story (including the premise) may be corny, so maybe you have suggestions on how it could be better? Of course also report any bad spelling or typos or anything else that's off.

4. Documentation
Is the help file which explains how to do all the customization stuff easy to read and easy to understand? Please tell me if any parts aren't clear. I want the customization process to be easy and fun as much as possible.

5. Any other suggestions you have!
Don't hold back. If you have something to say which could help me improve the game I want to hear it.

Well it seems that nobody yet has gotten a good ending (a non-generic ending). This tells me that it might be too difficult or maybe unfair?

A good ending requires:
1. The character is in a state of Love or Lovesick
2. You have completed her story route

Everyone seems to be doing well with the first requirement.
The second requirement is tricky because you have to make some correct choices along the way AND some of those choices require that you pass an attribute check. Attribute checks are in multiples of 10; either 20, 30, 40, or 50. (So if you get an attribute up to 50, you'll pass any checks involving it in story events)

I suppose the problem is that it's not clear what attribute checks are coming up for a given character. Also, with the longer stories, you might simply be running out of time to complete them.

For the next release I'm going to make it a little easier to pass attribute checks by making it easier to raise attributes. I might also add a means of getting in-game hints for characters.

I didn't intend to put out a new release so soon, but there really have been a sleugh of bug reports and changes in the last two days. Testers, please grab the new release (v0.4).

I should have mentioned this earlier but if you encounter a serious bug I'd be greatly appreciative if you can send me a save file prior to the bug's occurrence. The game autosaves each day during the status screen where you can spend orbs so you can use that file. There are a few bugs that have been reported now which I've not able to reproduce and seeing the save file could help me out a ton.

I can see myself tweaking this game and adding new features for awhile to come, or for as long as people are interested in it, but I'll stop calling it a beta when we get to the point where any new releases will not render saves and records incompatible. There are still a few changes I'm considering that could possibly do that.

Here's some of the ideas for new features in consideration:
- "mental notes" about a character can be reviewed
- generic event for walking to school together
- support for BxB (only if there is interest)
- support for dual character endings
- Mouse support
- additional mini-games

The top two of those will likely make it into the game in the near future.

The new version, among other things, finally fixes the "script is hanging" error which people with slow computer sometimes encounter after the ending before or during the credits roll. Well, I think I fixed it. If anyone still gets that error at the end of the game, please let me know! I don't have any older computers around the house with which to test it on.

But I think it should allow mouse-scrolling. Thanks for the suggestion; dunno why I never thought of it. You can, however, do page up or page down on the phone screen with the L and R buttons. ('q' and 'w' on the keyboard iirc)

If you're trying to use the mouse wheel to scroll the list, no, I don't think Phone Phase works that way. Though, it might be more correct to say that the mouse wheel might not have an assigned functionality with the mouse script that flowertheif is using. He would know more about this than I would, though.
Here's something i noticed: You can't scroll with a mouse on the girl-list-thing after the "after-school activity". Just something to note. Not utterly game-breaking
Currently there are three ways to meet Akari:
1. Refuse to help Tsubasa when asked. You will find some pills that belong to Akari. This is not viable if you intend to date Tsubasa, as offering your assistance is a prerequisite for important events.
2. Refuse to give back the baseball to Riho. You will throw it at Akari by accident. Dating Riho if you choose this is hard, but by no means impossible.
3. Fail or do not try to answer Miki when she asks how should you help each other find a date. Keika will feel sorry for you and introduce you to Akari if you pass a Soul check. Do not pick this if you want to meet Riho and haven't done so yet.

...and two to meet Hinami:
1. After you've met Akari, eventually you'll see her and Hinami walking to school together. Run up to them.
2. If you failed or didn't attempt Akari's first Check(Which forbids you from her route, by the way), Miki will ask you to fetch her phone twice. Do it both times.

Enjoy!:)
Is there any way i can find out how to make them appear because i´m really stuck?

How do I get akari and hinami to appear because I have played the game twice and I can´t find them?

I can't comment on this, as I have a horrible reputation of not playing the built-in content.

Ps:Is it true that if a charecter is lovesick you can´t trigger their events?

Generally no, but it is a possible CONDITION line. Off-hand, I can think of one character who can cease appearing altogether, but it has very little to do with affection levels. This character can return, in a sense, but only if the player does certain things.

Pss:A VERY BEUTIFUL GAME RIGHT HERE

Yeah, they totally work. Personally speaking, I found those codes work best with generic encounters, but that's just my experience.

You will know if they worked because there is a sound effect, and a message that denotes that the affection level of the character in question has risen/decreased. These messages pop up exactly how the mental notes would appear, so be mindful of that.
Okay I don't know if this is the place to ask this but do these cheats work and if so what do they do cause I haven't noticed anything different

ALT + F6 -- Active speaker's affection decreases by 100
ALT + F7 -- Active speaker's affection increases by 100
Glad we got that sorted!

I imagine that installation issues are probably more common than we know due to the lack of an established convention for how custom content is packaged. Well, there is a convention, and I tried to encourage its usage in Mr. Help, but authors don't always follow it. Maybe that's my fault for doing the directory structure the way I did.

Dozen, do you think adding specific installation directions on the Finished Content page for each content package might be worth doing? I have realized that simply saying, "Files need to be in the proper directories" is not enough. An author may have indicated that a file needs to be in a specific subdirectory and there's no way for the user to know that off the bat.

Marrend, when I'm able to work on the game again I'll look into those bugs you unearthed while you were troubleshooting here. Please remind me if I forget.

Iirc the install procedure is actually different for Junko than it is for Masako. For Masako you can just extract to the game's main directory and everything should go in the right place (Masako's author, Marrend, arranged things in a nice way that makes it easy on the end user). For Junko, Yuu, and 21 Ways iirc you need to move files around a bit.

There! I knew I'd find it!
Happy to help!:) Now go away, you two, before some antibuzzer sends us hatemail for flooding the thread with short messages! Shoo, shoo!>:D

Told you to just extract the file, did I not?:)

(Is pissed cause you did say that) And I added 21's and Junko's differently and it worked so I figured that's how you did it with everything else

I'm confused. Enderstar did not extract the files into the base Heartache directory to begin with? I swear, somebody mentioned that this was the way to install these files! I think it was flowerthief a few pages back...

On a side-note, am I continuing this upload?

*Edit: Dozen might have said it too. I suppose I wasn't paying attention as per usual.

*Edit 2: Oh, duh. Of course Dozen was saying that. I feel like an idiot.
Told you to just extract the file, did I not?:) (Yes, I did.)

EDIT:I shall also be Custom Content Wizard from now on! I'M MAGIC DADADADAAA!
...I... didn't try that Dozen.. let me see if that works

Edit:......ARE YOU FUCKING SHITTING ME EXTRACTING THE GAME FILE IN THE FOLDER MAKES IT MAGICALLY WORK GODDDDDD I HATE MYSELF!!! (Is more pissed that it now works after all I've done)

Well, my copy won't have Kyouki in it...

Neither does the package. Sorry to disappoint:)

@Enderstar, I can't tell a damn thing from that screen, but hey. Here are mine. Mind, plural.

Well, my copy won't have Kyouki in it, but all the other characters in my upload should work as-is.

I'm going to assume that it will take about an hour to upload this monster, though.
