Hero's Sword:
A basic fantasy story where a knight and his squire set out to save an abducted princess from an evil Dark Lord. Along the way, they encounter new allies and face many foes. Who is destined to wield the legendary Hero's Sword?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The game was made in four days as part of a little competition with some fellow game makers, so it isn't all that epic. That being said, the story is solid, and the game's difficulty level will definately keep you on your toes. I hope you enjoy the game!

Hero's Sword to be remade over summer.

For a side project during summer, not that I have more time on my hands, I have decided to start things fresh by remaking Hero's Sword. This new rendition of the game I promise will be better than the original in many ways. This version will have better stary and character development, a new world map and more side quests than the original. This upcoming title, which shall be titled Sword Saga ch.2 : Hero's Sword (or Sword of Legend, title is pending)can be expected to be released sometime during the summer break. I'll be working hard to get this project completed and I hope you will enjoy it.

Also, if anyone playing the game could give a review of it, I'd be very grateful. The current review was done by a player of the originalversion of the game, not the current one. Please send in some reviews so I can see what you think of Hero's Sword.
Thank you.

I don't expect a wide fan-base, trust me the comments i recieved when i first released it was VERY negative. Ad ys, 1000 is a major milestone, but I'm a young, aspiring, but mediocre designer, and Hero's Sword was mainly percieved as "bad" by many, MANY players. I do want to make another game in the series, but I have other projects I've been planning out, and I still need to plot out a HS sequel. If this game gets to 500 downloads, i think by then ill be ready to make a sequel. Thank you for your thoughts, wether they be good or bad ones. I hope you enjoy playing Hero's Sword, and hopefully ou'll enjoy it's sequel whenever it finally comes into production :D

the reason i think hes waiting for the "milestone" is simply cuz of the flak this originally recieved.... but, it WAS his first game. made in 4 days... (though, longer, counting the edits and patches later). plus, hes also been workin on other titles - it would be kinda like a side project...

that bein said: Boogity Boogity Boogity, Amen.

If the game gets over 500 downloads, I will make a sequel. I guess I'll see what happens.

You should make the decision to make a game based on your own motivations, and not on some arbitrary "popularity" count on the internets.

TBH i have wanted to make a sequel, i almos did after making the first one. That being said, I still hafta plan it out, so i feel the time it takes to reach 500 downloads will get me nice n ready for a decent sequel.

Though seriously, it kind of makes me think about the quality of the game, how it could be pretty bad because your making it just because people want to, or have tried your game 1,000 or 500 times!

As a corollary: Make the game you want to make, not what you perceive what others want.

Or that, that is far more professional, but still, 1000 is a better milestone.
Though I would make a sequel based on if I want to or not, and if I actually have a GOOD game plan or not.
EDIT: Kentona, did you notice if you don't put author= but instead quote = you get a better looking quote than yours? You should make it like that by the default quote button.

1000 downloads would be a real milestone, well compared to 100 anyway.

I can't believe it:D Hero's Sword has actually got over one hundred downloads! I know that's not much, but for me that's a major accomplishment. Thank you all for downloading and playing my first game. I hope you enjoy it, player :D
BTW, can you find the secret boss in the game? Or for that matter, can you find the hidden character?

If you manage to do the right step combonation, you can acquire a new party member :D if you get said character though, you lose the werewolf, so it's really up to you how you wanna play through the game

Thank you...If you do decide to play the game, I hope you like it. The game itself had recieved a load of negativity due to it's difficulty etc. The original hard version of the game is on the downloads page, and my main download is the easier patch that I made...Anyways, thank you for your support.
-SeanGrei
I have, it was quite playable, nothing special, but it wasn't bad or anything.
Now in the first town some old man starts listing off directions, what was that for?

id suggest u write the directions down, then go 2 the forest in like the middle or so of the map

2 the right of the town.

:)
