This is going to be a seriously fond trip down memory lane for me, DWM got me into the Dragon Quest games.
Just to let you know, a monster called Basilisk already exists in the Dragon Quest games:

I appreciate the comment, but I will keep the name the same. That particular Basilisk is from Dragon Quest II and is also well known as King Cobra or Big Cobra (other versions of Dragon Quest II and Dragon Warrior Monsters).
The game which I derive most of the enemy names from is the Dragon Warrior Monsters series.
