Hey! This is my first completed project for rpgmaker2003, it's a short non-linear exploration game. Even though it is non-linear, it does have an ending. The point of the game is about figuring what's going on. It's an exploration, but most of the discoveries will be about what happened to the protagonist. The aesthetic is based on old gameboy RPG's, this includes graphics, music and writting style. It's a short game. It really shouldn't take anyone more than an hour from start to finish.

Most of the graphics and music were made by me, but there are some exeptions. Some tiles (flower tiles, all water tiles, dirt, walls) are from The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, and others (seats, bookshelves) are from Pokemon Red. Not_home_anymore is similar in parts to a song from Digimon World 3, and Alone might be entirely plagarized from somewhere, though I cannot recall from where (If anyone knows, please leave a comment). All sound effects are from Link's Awakening, except the stair climbing sound which is from A Link to the Past. They were all taken from HelpTheWretched's website (http://noproblo.dayjo.org/ZeldaSounds/ ).

As far as difficulty goes, there are no fights, there is no way to lose, except to get stuck, of course. I would recommend the old strategy of talking to every NPC in case you do get stuck, though. I made a point of always making the NPC that gave the hint before the flower they hinted at. I Hope you enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed making it!

This game looks quite charming.
Oh this is complete! Downloadin', looks interesting.

Er... just kidding, download doesn't seem to be approved yet.
This just screams "FOOONT PAAAAAATCH". :|
I just played all the way through (and I'm considering writing a review since this is the first game off this site I've finished). It was short, very morbid, but pretty good :] Worth a try.
This game is really strange. The morbid themes mixed with the gameboy aesthetic kind of throw me off guard, but I like it a lot.

A nice little coffee-break adventure game. Good work, I definitely enjoyed it. Not sure if it could've been longer, but I kinda wish it were. But for what it is, it's pleasant.
Haha, Thank you. That's what I was going for. The graphics are used to represent the protagonist's detachment from the world, with the mordib themes being a representation of his own guilt. He can't connect with the world because his issues are preventing him from it, so he sees the world distilled to one line NPC's and gameboy graphics.
Downloaded and playing this right now. I'll be writing notes as I play and I'll write a review(cause this game is supposedly short). First thing I notice is that you left a save file in the download, might want to remove that.

Here I go...
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF-damn. Well that's what I get for announcing no more updates. I'll be changing the download again soon.

Edit: Done. And I'd LOVE a review! Thank you for taking the time to do that, even if you rip my game to to shreds.
People have said morbid enough times to convince me this is my kind of game.

/me downloads.
I am very impressed with the artistic style of this game.
I was fascinated by this game and have spent an inordinate amount of time trying to piece together the back story. I think I know the situation. I don't want to spoil it, so I won't post anything.

*I also wanted to just mention that in the chief of police, I think, has a typo in his dialog. (He says "..pretty pretty much like a..." or something like that. Two 'pretty's is all)
this is really fucking rad
i will (probably)(possibly) write a review right after finishing it
Really? I'd love to have another review!
Yeah this game is kind of cool, and not just because of its gameboy perks.

I like this "game" and it is morbid.
It's really more like a playable short story, I think.

Just finished - it was enjoyable. I thought the ending could have lasted a bit longer to explore more themes of death, whacha gonna do.

I like these playable story type things. The easthetic was well put together, as well.

Good jaerb.
grats on being featured, reminds me that i have a 5000000000 word review of this game on my hard drive that just needs to be finished, will do it soon lol
Wow I thought you'd decided not to write me a review! This day just keeps getting better ;)
I just played, I didn't really get all of it, I want to write a review, but I'm not sure if I should "get it" before doing so, or if not getting it is standard reaction and I should write it anyway.
