It looks cool, but I'm unable to play it because there are a lot of missing files whenever I try.

Do you have the rm2k3 RTP installed?

EDIT: I've added a new download which includes all the necessary files and RTP.
Not a huge fan of the rtp these days but it's still rtp done right, so I can look past that. Everything examinable sounds promising since I'm the explorative type, and the 18 recruitable characters makes me thing of suikoden. Overall sounds like a promising classic rpg. I'll get around to trying this when I finish testing the current game I'm playing.

Thanks for giving it a try. Let me know what you think.
There is an issue that prevents me from progressing any further: when I go to compete in the tournament in Gracia, I cannot add Razor to, or remove him from, my party in the hotel when I talk to him, he got removed from my party when someone joined, and I need just Razor in my party to go through the door in the arena in Gracia with the guard next to it, thus blocking my progress in the game. Can you please fix it so you can add / remove Razor to / from your party in the hotel when you talk to him, and release an updated download of Secret Of Stormlot with this fix? Thank you.

Sorry about that. I've added a new download with the problem fixed.

You can still transfer your save files from the old version to the new one.
Hi, I love this game so far. The story is really good but it pretty tough. Im stuck on the battle where I have to fight a soldier in order to rank up. Im lev 12 and I have all the best equipment I bought from the shops. The battle so far has been really tough. The soldier is doing too much damage in so little time. The hp potions I have is too weak. The HP i recover is too little compared to the damage the solider is dealing to me. Im wondering if im under-lev or maybe the guard is too high a level.

There's actually a trick to beating Sergei. Just keep using Berserk Strike because Berserk is the only status ailment that works on him. You shouldn't waste your time using items in this battle (Unless you NEED to). Just try and beat him before he beats you. His HP isn't that high.
Thxs for the Tip. I beat the guy easily after spamming berserk. Now I progressed pretty far into game and I ran into a bug. I learned the spell "Esuna" with Sharna. Now the problem is everytime I cast it on a ally. It puts them to sleep. It doesn't remove their status ailment. I was hoping maybe you can fix this. Also again, Im really loving this game so far. Great characters and story.

I fixed it up. Esuna was actually inflicting status ailments rather than curing them. Thanks for letting me know and playing. You should be able to transfer your save file to the new version.
Well I just finished up on testing that last game, and as promised the next...victim, is your game. If you've seen any of the other game I've tested then you know to be very very afraid..as I'll be putting ya to work.

1.Daryans Encirciling blast should be Encircling blast.

2. If you try to go behind the weapon shop counter in castle stormlot, he says arn't instead of aren't.

couple of things I've noticed thus far. FIrst of all I know you copy/pasted some of the dialog for examining things because it'd be a pain to do them all manually, but when you examine the clock in the princes room, he talks about how he needs an alarm clock for his room (when it already is in his room, perhaps he should say something about needing to move it closer to his bed).

The other thing is if you examine the barrel, he says there's hidden money under there and nobody would mine if he takes it. I imagine that money is the princes personal stash since it's in his room, so the dialog could be a bit different. Most people wouldn't really notice these things, but as a veteran tester I figured I'd point them out anyways. I do like how there's two or three versions for each thing so it's not too repetitive, and you come across items every now and then.

I didn't have too much time to test tonight, but I figured I'd go ahead and post my preliminary findings. The battles seem as if they will be challenging enough, the dialog is good, and the first dungeon was interesting enough, even though I barely got to explore it. I've already found 5 gold coins too, so I'm enjoying the everything examinable bit.

By the way, is this your first game? If so I'm quite impressed. The difficulty is just right and there seems to be a ton of exploration. Can't say anything on sidequests since I havn't got that far, so I'll leave that for later. As for however big the bug count gets, don't worry about the amount too much. I tend to reach a fairly big amount with every game I test (usually 20-40 range).
^^^
It's been exactly a week like you said. That was a good estimate.

In regards to your question, this is my first game. Wow, you've only just started the game and you've already pointed out all these bugs and errors... scary. Thanks for the comments as well and also don't worry if you missed anything in the first dungeon you'll get another chance.
Heh, it's impressive for your first game. I think you need a bit of work on when to update important npcs dialog, but other than that it's been fun. I've made a bit of progress (ranked up my mains soldier rank recently) and I figured it was about time I updated my findings (I mentioned the dialog bit once below, since I use notepad to keep track of my notes).

One thing I've noticed is you can examine stuff while standing at the bottom of a cliff, while they are on top of a cliff (I'm noticing this in dwellers cave). I don't think you should be examine them when cliff height comes into the equation.

1. After the second mission and it switches to a black screen, i'm should be I'm

It also seems dialog doesn't get updated quite quickly enough. I'm fine with minor nameless npcs not getting dialog updated till later, but you'd think the dialog of the important characters would change after the whole cutscene with the princess in the woods rather than after obtaining a new mission. Not really important, but something to work on for future games.

2. The surprise guerrilla says revoloutionising when it should be revolutionizing.

3. Revoloution should be revolution in his next bit of dialog.

4. When the girl rescues you, aquired should br acquired.

5. If you examine a crate to the right of fralons cell (it's not actually in a cell), it says it' instead of it's.

6. When you reach the next room of the prison, she says arn't instead of aren't.

7. Revolution is spelt wrong again in the next bit of dialog...more than once. I'm going to stop mentioning this typo since it happens alot.

Edit: Is it just me, or do new spells seem to be little improvement over old ones. In fact, they seem to do about the same damage except for additional mana. Also, I just noticed that if you don't play fullscreen, then there's an untitled in the top left of the game. I probably wouldn't of caught this if it wasn't such a pain to notepad in full screen.
^^^
Thanks for the updates. I'll release a single new version with bugs and errors fixed when you finish testing.

Yeah the skill damage for each higher skill should probably do more damage than it currently does. The increments in damage should still be noticeable though (Being used on the same enemy). Which characters/skills are you mainly talking about?
Well it seems to be that way for all my characters. Every time I use a skill, it seems to randomly hit in the 250-320 range (this probably isn't exact, just an estimate). I've tried various skills and they all seem to hit within that same range.

Nothing new to report, but I'm steading progressing. I recently just beat and recruited the griffin. The monster characters seem quite strong, although I'm sort of partial to using leon just because he's a swordsman...but then I'm probably gonna have to break away from having three swordsmen eventually.

Edit: I should probably mention i've only tested this with physical skills. I didn't test magic in the short time I had a mage.

Edit 2
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. If you examine the pile of wood in dargy's house, it says ccould. This is also the case in other houses wood piles.

2. If you talk to fage after recruiting his boss, definately should be definetely.

3. There is a circular picture you can not examine in layles house.

SO far the only people I havn't been able to recruit are the blacksmith and derick. I imagine the blacksmith isn't recruitable since it didn't give me a recruit option, and I probably can't get derick until later.

4. You can walk on the stove in dorothy's house.

5. When faris introduces himself, sport should be sports.

I can't seem to narrow down what it is with skills. I'd suggest just making a few different high hp dummy units to test with, then try out various physical characters skills. Feel free to test mages too if you want, since I haven't yet.
^^^
I think the problem is the "Variance" value for almost every skill is different, so the range of damage for a higher skill may actually at times end up doing less than a previous skill or a lot more.

Also, you can recruit the blacksmith and Derick later but not at the current time.

Btw, Leon isn't that good so you should probably stick with the new monsters you get when you have the chance.
Heh, yeah I was thinking about replacing leon, and that makes sense with the skills. I just beat the earth spirit who was a push over since I easily poisoned/berserked her. I should of refrained from using status ailments like I did with zeno, because he was an actual challenge without them (although there is nothing that my aoe heal can't fix). Anyways, only a couple things so far.

1. After you beat the warewolf, tommy calls zeno zeon.

2. When you talk to suzy in the castle, accross should be across.

I'll be making my party fralon, razor, sharna, and zeno as soon as it let's me I think.

3. I have zeno in my party now, but his armor description is all about griffy-griff. Perhaps he should start with his own unique armor instead. That could be especially confusing for someone who missed griffy.

I just went to get my rank up and now it is telling me I have to remove all my party members. While I can understand why would I need to, it's also a pain to go around and individually remove them. It would be easier if there was another way to add/remove party members rather than talking to the people individually. If that doesn't work, a way to simply remove all party members would be nice too.

4. In the description of the rune sword, you typo'd easy.

5. When talking to gildred, across is typo'd. On an unrelated note, I just recruited him at the time I found him. Goes to show just how much I ezplore.

Just recruited slaze as well...although the first time I talked to him, I expected that quest to be far more annoying. While I don't remember it too clearly, I know there was a person like that in a suikoden game. I just recruited derick as well.
Kathy has also been recruited. Recruited gary.

7. You typo'd want on the layla npc next to the cemetary.

8. Surprised I didn't catch this one sooner, but you typo'd enemies on the drowsy sword.

Taking a break inside the mages tower (the save before the boss). I also just realized I haven't used the row command the entire game, when I've had the low hp sharna nearly the whole time. Not that I was having a hard time either way, but I guess I really should start using it.

Back in action. No bugs to report, but adding katherine to my now recruited list. The blacksmith is also recruited.

9: When fralon is asking about gracia, across is typo'd.

Not sure if this is a bug, but the king tells you that you can take whoever you want to gracia, but when I try to enter the ship it says to remove all party members. Does that mean that it'll automatically take them all, and I can add them as needed over there? Ah well, I'll see in a minute. Seems that was the case..although it would of been simpler if I hadn't put that party together after he told me that.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally made it to gracia, and I believe I have every single recruitable character. I also found 3 ribbons so far...I get the feeling there is a fourth I'm missing. Anyways, back to my testing.

1. In a house in gracia, if you examine the cabinet, fralon says draw instead of drawer.

2. If you examine the sculptures, sculpture is spelt wrong.

3. One of the npcs standing on the wall says town instead of towns.

4. When you talk to razor in the waiting room, haven't is typo'd.

Hmm..I seem to of only found 4 out of 5 of the last few gold coins. I probably missed something obvious. Ah well, I'll do without the last reward I guess.

Another small thing, but I wish you could save in the colloseum area. I won my first fight, and then I had to leave for a bit, so now I gotta redo that whole segment.

5. You don't recover when you are required to rest before the big fight. That makes it so you have to rest twice.

6. I just tried upgrading karas level 1 staff, and it's not letting me. No message at all pops up.

7. When fralon visits the king in his room, killed is typo'd. Also in the next line of text, you're should be your.

Finally done. The ending was quite interesting. Can't wait to play the next part. I may not of gotten all the bugs, and I ignored when the text sounded a bit weird to me, because it still worked. Overall though, my findings should have cleared out the majority of the bugs.

Also quick question, will the save be compatible with the next part, or should I get rid of it?
Ah finished it.
I entered here seeing rpgmaker 2003 game since I just can t enjoy Vtp and later rpgmaker. Then I saw like suikoddden and sir you got my interest.
Gottta admit I enjoyed it. Few things that made me smiling though I am pretty sure it was not intended.
First time in cave I went for gold medal and got hit out of cave. I actually loaded to check if there was loot behing that medal but ah still got thrown out.
Imagine my surprise when I went back to cave as next quest.
I don t think I have seen such share for weak and strong monsters like in this cave.
When that red orc did not want me to pass through going left and right omg.
Curiosity killed the cat and thanks to checking that hammer I got a new recruit.
The werewolf has his second ability not described.
That feel when I saw just what that student is using as weapon.
In the hotel there are all characters including the ones I could not recruit and even one I did not meet lol. Though I could not recruit them into party.
The king says I can take my team with me to ship so I gather my party and he tells me lol nope go back and ditch them oh you liar.
Drake during tournament I think is using <<your>> incorrectly but that just makes him ever bigger douchebag so I don t care.
Grinded to 50 lev for tournament hoping to get some secret new skill but no sir no such luck damn.
Almost all boss fights I passed on last leg which is kinda scary since I play rpg with some grinding to be on the safe side.
Like suikooden lol yeah and where is dramatic faction switching like in suikodden one and two. Where are battles and duels but oh well. Finally what s the point of party members if they can kicked out so quickly.
Oh and you really should give some warning you will need lots of potions when you get off ship. I was so not ready cuz used to healer.
Quite important but plot rest does not give you rest. Stilll as tired as ever.
Oh and that faceset of a kid from fire emblem sacred stones drake used
Finally yes seriously finally.
If this is your first game then
Watch it guys we have a badass here.
^^^
Thanks for playing and posting your thoughts on the game. You pointed out a bug that I missed that is fairly important (Non-recruited party members showing up). I've updated the download with it fixed up.
Just finished the game and loved it, and I have two questions

1- I downloaded the "Secret of Stormlot (RTP included)" version in July 2013; is there anything new in the versions (other than bug fixing) like new dialogues or cutsenes?

2- What will happen to my progress in the game (leveling, party members, items) in the sequel?
