In the dream of a child stands an ancient manor filled with forsaken fancies and empty memories. Mysterious yet familiar to the child that wanders the lifeless house. What lies at the start of waking? Is this truly a dream? A memory? An illusion or reality?

This project contains the compiled maps from the Manor Mapping Madness collaboration. The aim of this project was to create a room with atmosphere - whether it be spooky, dream-like or creepy is up to the map maker.

Bug Update

There's a bug in the new version which makes it impossible to pass. I'm not sure exactly how it happened but a variable was changed and broke the event to get the sun key. I've since fixed the map but there's a few small bits and pieces I've been meaning to fix as well and I'd like to get them done before I upload the (here's hoping) absolute version.

Just unzip and paste the Map0005 and Map0043 files in with the rest of the maps (in the game folder). That should fix it up for now.

If you run into any more bugs, just leave a comment under this blog and I'll add it to the list for fixing and update the patch above.

Quick Update: Added another map to the patch (in downloads section). Apparently one of the switches had been deleted in the end event, leading to the game not being able to be finished. No idea how that came to pass but it's fixed now. Thankfully.

Yup, it works really well. Thanks so much for the fix. :)
Hooray! Glad I could help. o/

Hey, Liberty! If you're going to reupoad the game, then I guess this is the perfect opportunity for me to sneak some fixes for my maps as well. ;D ...Mainly to get rid of the random nature of the cutscenes and to make the solutions for the puzzles less fucking stupid obscure. I saw some LPs and the reactions were "less than favorable" in most cases. xP

I also made it possible to save in the Chapel, and fixed other minor things like typos and stuff. ...Oh, and I took the liberty (Heh;) to enable the bad ending, because I saw the code in there but no actual way to trigger it? And I tweaked a bit the intro and endings too so they're not just a black screen. All these changed are over the last version, btw. 1.5

Anyway, check it out and then you decide if you include it or not.

I'll have a look and thanks~
(The bad ending is triggered by leaving the church and saving before you find the bats, but after the 'hole' incident. A small time frame, to be sure. I should probably have based it on other things instead - maybe how many souls were saved.)
I see. What I did was to be able to trigger the bad ending by saving after you decide to confront Anastasia, since you can't make any progress on the game at that point anyway. (Assuming you've visited all other non plot-related rooms by then)
Do you have to download anything else other than the file to get this game to work ?
Awesome by the way!
Some people are having issues with certain areas where there's a movie file. If you go back a few posts you can find an updated movie file to download. Just add it to the movie folder and it should work.

Besides that, I'm working on an update that fixes some issues with the ending triggers and making the game a little more involving, but it may take a while, so....
It was a nice game. Really scary at one time, made my boyfriend cry. :'D
Some puzzles we're pretty hard for me though. But good job! Subbed!

Ah! You're the mean girl that almost made ME cry... I'm sorry about those puzzles. I'll never do it again. ;_;

Joking aside, you can submit your video as media and get shiny (useless) points under your avatar! =D
Say, I was wondering what sort of stuff was new for the RSW version? I can't find any info anywhere.

Also, should we merge or replace?
There's an edited Introduction and Ending*, more helpful hints in-game, using the rooms that didn't have anything in them. There's also another story point, hidden as well as some revamped dialogue (which I am still working on, giving more of Emi's own personality) as well as fixing the church scenes so it's not as random* and lastly the avi file has been edited so that it should work with most people*.

*Major thanks to Alter for that, btw!

It shouldn't have an issue with old save files, so merging should be fine.
...Yeah. Hence it being marked as complete... ^.^
Ahh sorry I saw 2 of 8 episodes complete and I had that doubt.

Soon I'll start the game. It's looks awesome :D
Ah, that's okay. The 2/8 means that it's part of a series of 8 games. 2 of them are currently complete and the third will be made around October (feel free at the time to jump in if you like, since it's part of a series of yearly events where people make maps ^.^)
That has been bugging me for a while too. Maybe it would be less misleading if from now on we kept all iteration of this event under one game profile? Or if instead of: "X of X episodes completed" it could say: "X of a series of X episodes" With links and all...
I think they've been thinking about links and the like for episodic games for a while - they've just not implemented them as yet. ^.^;

Probably the worst part is that room with the face that keeps popping up. *shudder*
