"I think I heard that voice once before in a dream long ago."

Made in less than a month for RPG Revolution's apocalypse-themed game-making competition, Finding Eden is an action/adventure game set after the end of the world.

Being two of the last survivors of the collapse of society, you and your friend must struggle to make ends meet while your remaining lifespan ticks away - and the only way to recover it is to scavenge life-giving mana from the pockets of vitality that haven't already been picked clean.

No idea who's responsible, but it seems that some Korean fan translated the game. Very cool!

Short )': mush have moar!

Afraid so. One of the requirements of the competition was that the game had to be beatable in under a half hour.
There is potential for a full game though ;p

I'm feeling pretty beat right now, but I'll work on writing up a postmortem about the game tomorrow.
Looks amazing I will definitely download.

Hope you enjoy! Let me know what you think.
WOW! I loves it! This really rocks man!
(coughs) yes,anyway....
I really like it, although it isn't that realistic.
Eerm, I was kinda wondering what you do to find the other girl..? Is there a walkthrough anywhere?

Look in the southern section of the cave.

I played this a bit earlier, the thing that stood out to me was the really awkward control scheme. The "Use skill" key was J which is nowhere near any convenient place for my finger to reach using arrow keys or WASD. Made it more of a hassle than it should have been to use skills!

Thanks for the feedback. Which key would you recommend using for it?

The "Q" key, perhaps? Something closer to where my fingers already are, if that makes any sense.

That's a good idea. I didn't think of that since I tended to play with two hands, with my right index finger resting on the J key.
Very interesting, I loved the atmosphere. The gameplay was pretty simple, but I suppose that's to be expected, given the time constraints. I liked the mana system, it helps to contribute to the feeling of survival and just barely clinging to life. It reminded me a bit of the Colour system in The Void, which I also really liked. I found it pretty easy to accumulate mana, though; I barely needed the bits and pieces scattered around, since the Harvesters are so plentiful and easy to kill.

Are you planning on expanding/continuing this in the future? If the mana system was expanded, it could make for a really interesting game. (Perhaps kind of like The Void, only without all the sexism and creepy fanservice and ugh.)

(If you don't know about The Void, you should probably check out its Wikipedia page. It's actually very similar to Finding Eden, though much more surreal and with a heavier emphasis on the fantasy elements. Also, with the aforementioned creeptacular portrayal of women, which unfortunately ruined an otherwise-awesome game for me. :|)

Question: How does something this awesome get some 300 downloads and no reviews?
I think part of the problem may be that it's so short. It's kind of difficult to do an in-depth review for the game.
