Gorgeous! Beautiful layering and the map looks vibrant and natural in a man made sort of way!
Yeah I really wanted this kingdom to feel alive and feel like a place you can just relax after a tough dungeon/hunt and settle down in comfort. Thanks again for your interest brother!
Did you use pictures for the trees shadows as well?

I really like your maps, they're striking, mindboggling often, this one is particularly nice. Did you ever think of drawing your own sprites, the default ones being a bit cartoonish in this environment?
@Ashes: No the shadows are all part of the panoramas, I'd have to have them all as a single picture if I wanted to do it that way to lower transparency and make them appear to be shadow-like however I'm already using my available overlay pictures for dynamic foliage and also for lighting during night time. I think if I used pictures for my shadows I'd lag the game down, I'm trying to find that balance between playability and aesthetics.

@Chana: Thanks so much! Unfortunately I'm not good with drawing sprites, 3d meshes I can handle and environments too but pixels I'm not too good at, the best I can do with my abilities is editing sprites to create animations and even than those animations and poses look sub-par...I'm sure a pixel artist could kick my ass.
I'm a pixel artist...

KA-CHA!!!

I see, I'm in the exact same boat with the playability, and aesthetics!
Hey I'd be happy to exchange talents with you on Fey if you have time to help out =]
Maybe I could go a couple rounds. Lol. It would be awesome to see what we could come up with. I gotta say, I think you may have found the developers dream game. Think, it's the perfect game to just keep throwin in as many and unique mechanics as possible and they all feel right and like they belong. They never feel shoe horned because of the style. I'm truly impressed. Such a versatile game.
Woah notice board completely ignored your post and it's a shame because those are wonderful words of encouragement Ashes! Really man, thanks so much for the support...I think Eden Gate is the rpg maker game I have always dreamed of making so I'm trying to implement all of the systems I have wished I could prior to this project. I've never come so far with a project before and most of the mechanics are ready to go meaning you can just copy and paste a lot of things make minor tweaks and they can be used where-ever while still feeling unique. In a sense I'm making my own engine and should I never finish this game I'd be more than happy to release it as is so people can have a strong start in their own games.
Hey no problem. I really respect you as a developer and truly look forward to this project more than any other. You inspire me.

That's how I built Fey. Got the idea or building and engine from little big planet. It just made everything easier. It made more sense. I think if that was one of the last things you ever did with rm2k3, then it would foster a new era of surreal home brewed games that might make us look like dinosaurs.

Actually, just got a neat idea. What if someone designed and RPG maker game like assassins creed but for each era you play it's designed like the common game of that time. It's a long shot and too much work to be worth it. Still, seemed neat in my mind.
