Mixing Tiles Effort..

Ok, I guess I shall update this since it's now on here, but I need some opinions on something first..

Does Theo mix well with these mac and blue tiles?

Now onto progress with DT. Aside from messing with some tiles I will be adding a new page about the main characters, I have decided to start the game off from two different perspectives, one from Lucas Renaults(The blue armored guy from the screenshots) and the other from Durane Dolmont(The bandana wearing character in one of the screenshots) giving this game a split beginning and later on meeting up further into the story/game.

I will be posting a couple of new screenshots in the coming few weeks once I finish up some maps and scenes. Right now though progress is steadily coming along.

If you have any questions about the game or for me, or an opinion on the tile set featured in the screenshot, just post a comment below.

They mix well enough. To be honest, you'd have to have used both tiles to know that they didn't belong together. Which I have, but it still looks good.

Interweaving of multiple perspectives is my favorite part in storytelling. Have fun with that.

Stuff like... one party is in town, as they enter a building, the camera doesn't follow them. It locks, while the second party walks in and their perspective takes over.

Or making mention of each other in the other's POV. Say, some NPC tells Durane, "Man, the guards are all on edge right now. They're chasing some crazy guy in blue armor."

Thanks for the feedback. I'll mention what is and isn't Theo to give everyone more of an idea..

The Building = Theo,
The crates, lamp post, chair, water = Theo

The ground tile, windows and bridge brick wall, rooftops = Mac & Blue!

The interweaving part will probably further down the line, but I like the idea of adding surrounding events from the other group effecting and changing the world around the group you're in.. Seems like some effort though haha.

They do not look like they go well together to me...the character sprite also seems to clash a little bit. But I'm not sure. There's something that looks wrong to me in this screenshot and I can't honestly put my finger on what it is. Possibly it's the sheer portion of the screen taken up by that one floor tile.

The map itself was just a test to see how well they mixed together after I compiled the tile set. Oh and if anyone wants it..

If anything at all, the floor tile stands out too much vs the dark palete crates. Maybe use different crates. Or a more subtle floor.
