So I just wanted to touch on some of the skillsets of the characters. Julian is big on Impediments (status spells/attacks), Trey is big on elemental attacks/magic, and Sarah has buffs and martial arts.

Justine, the fourth character, is an archer. I was thinking about giving her a variety of arrows to use, ranging from strong physical arrows to elemental and status arrows. However, that makes her a sort of jack-of-all-trades that may negate the power and utility of some of the other characters.

Her magic subset is Reficia, or heal spells.

My other idea was to keep her an archer but put her in a sort of blue mage role...perhaps a telepathic "silver arrow" that lets her channel the abilities of an enemy or something. If so, what kind of ways of learning blue magic would you guys like to see? The game will have lots of loot to steal from enemies...so item-based blue magic is an option.

Kinda like Irvine/Ragnarok Online type of archers?

Possibly! The issue is that the party without her is pertty well rounded aside from a healer. So for her physicals subset, I wanted to use various arrows. But I don't want too many people to have access to elemental and status attacks, so thats' where I got the idea to give her blue magic channeled through magic arrows...
I am kind of iffy about blue magic. How are you going to do it? Is it like the standard learn from enemy type?

Most likely, yeah. And then when you use a silver arrow you can choose a blue magic spell. Or something to that effect.

In all honestly, I might just go with elemental arrows anyway, since Trey's swordplay only allows him to use the most recent elemental/status.
Will it also have ammo* count?
what if you can make her equip traits as well? that'll give her an incentive to be used :D

Yeah, ammo will count for sure. Stored in variables etc.
Yeah, I've wondered about that too. How is it learned?
Kread already made an ammo script and it's perfect for archers! Check it out *U*

That sounds pretty cool - I'll check it out. I'm trying to minimize use of custom materials, but if it saves a lot of time I'll use it :D
