There exists a most curious and powerful race in the world of Ospes, able to manipulate and alter matter itself.

Their numbers are few, and from the beginning they have lived as outcasts, perceived as a threat to the world and every living thing in it.

They are called Theolar.

Thymetians, the most dominant race on Ospes, have done all that they can to suppress the Theolar. For they, more than any, are afraid of them.

Most Theolar are content to live in hiding and have abandoned the use of their abilities in hopes they would be forgotten. But among them there is a small group, known as the
Andurim, who are unwilling to give up that part of themselves.

Their sole purpose is to provide the Thymetians and the rest of the world with a glimpse of their greatness, now long overshadowed by what else they are capable of…

"I've finished the game, and I have to say that I really enjoyed myself. I don't always keep the games, but this one is a must.
Thanks for all your hard work." - littlebro

"All in all, you have certainly set a standard for vx games. I can't think of one that actually gripped me, and especially like this one did...
At any rate, I'm just saying I loved the game. I can tell it had a huge amount of work placed into it." - demonlord5000

What users from rpgmakervx.net have said...

"Whoa. This game is amazing. I can't recall the last time I enjoyed a game, commercial or otherwise, this much. You've managed to create a world that pulls the player in,
makes him identify with teh characters and feel for them. A world that feels alive with lore and history. Every time I found one of the Nayrin relics...
I really felt I was discovering bits and pieces of an ancient civilization, scattered all over the world." - Jeffrey

If anyone wants to play arguably one of the best all around put-together RPGs available to RPG Maker VX, this is hereby on your must-do list.
- goldenguy

"I will say that I liked the message and it was a brilliant adventure while it lasted. The plot was tight, the characters convincing and the puzzles
were the best I've seen aside from Alundra. If you ever manifest another spectacular game, I'll be looking forward to it." - tom11

"Firstly you have a great imagination and a flair for writing, your game really drew me in and was a real "key-presser" right up until the final
scenes. Your game was also very well balanced in terms of available money, EXP, etc. The inclusion of your excellent (occasionally challenging)
puzzles and mini-games help to distract the player along the way. Also quite importantly the game runs practically bug free..." - matt-tribal

"Bloody fantastic RPG. Minigames, optional quests, math puzzles. Love it all." - vitrous

"...there's so much that can be done, and the story and adventure just keep taking new turns and twists...It's been a long time since I've played a
game that I have a hard time "setting down" after 2-3 hours, but this is doing that." - goldenguy

"...a brilliant game, you have clearly put a lot of thought into creating the world of Ospes and especially into its characters. I definitely
appreciate the humorous dialogue too." - matt-tribal

Canvas is Complete!

Five years and two children later, I have finished my second game. The download has been updated. The game should last around 15 hours or so depending on a few factors including puzzles and sidequests. I have included a full walkthrough and complete item guide with the download. If you need more detailed help than the walkthrough gives, please don't hesitate to ask. I love every kind of feedback, especially bug reports if you find any. Thank you very much to those who take the time to download Canvas and give it a shot.

The download is active.
Am enjoying it so far - but (isn't there always a 'but') in just a couple of hours of gameplay I've been thrown out 3 times already by a stack error as follows:
Script 'Ladder Climing' line 164: SystemStackError occured
stack too deep

Have you used the f12 reset key? You'll get that error if you do, but I haven't heard of it happening otherwise. If you haven't used the f12 key, do you remember the circumstances when it happened? Thanks for playing and for the feedback.
I have to say...I'm impressed. It's extremely rare I can enjoy myself like this in rm games...usually I'm typing up nonstop minor/major bugs (I always find a minimum of 30 bugs in every game I've played), but this game doesn't have anything to warrent my attention so far. The only real thing I could really get you on is the wording of some things, but it's not noticable enough for me to bother.

I've been playing on normal, and I think (didn't want to cheat and use the list) I've got all the items I can get up to the woods (cept for one), since I backtracked after getting fire focus. I've been breezing through relatively easily, but I didn't want to play legendary on my first run. The only item I'm currently lacking is that chest where you have to input a password (I've been all over that town, and can't find any hints)

So far I've loved the story, gameplay has been easy for me...but again, legendary will be for my second playthrough, and the mapping. If I had to critique anything, I'd say I wouldn't mind for the various npcs to have more dynamic dialog (aka it changes after major events). I think the hidden item locations have been well done so far, since you have to backtrack for stuff. Also, the various puzzles were nice, but I hope to see harder ones later on.

The only thing that seemed useless to me was the notebook item. I find it easier to just go in notepad for my notes, but that's just me. Overall, the game has been fairly enjoyable.

Edit: Forgot to mention, I didn't try going to areas before I was supposed to once I got passed the abbey, since it seems like you already planned ahead for that.

Edit 2: I'm now passed the boss in the forest, and there's something I'd like to mention. The infuse abilities seem kind of useless. You have to cast them every time, it does the same amount of damage as casting the actual spell (for instance, singe, and infuse fire, do the same amount of damage, while infuse costs more, and infuse fire can miss, while singe cannot. Boosting my attack didn't seem to boost infuse fire either, when it's a combination of a melee/spell. If anything, I think infuse fire should be made to where you cast it, you get a buff that gives your physical attacks fire properties for as long as the buff is in effect. These are just my opinions, but figured I'd let you know.

Edit 3: I think this is a bug. Whenever I have vallamik use herblore in the menu outside of battle, only fidese shows up as one of the selected. the other 3 aren't there.

Edit 4: Why would you put a npc in the building that the main character has to break into? The npc didn't even question how we got in through a locked door, and the fact that the dockmaster wasn't with me.

I may review this, by the way. I'm enjoying myself quite a bit so far; I can only really offer harsh words about your mapping. Your interiors, in general, are really large and filled with empty space. If you plan on fixing anything in this game, I'd fix that first. I'm enjoying the story and characters. The journal and backstory keep your game from being a generic fantasy story, not that there's anything wrong with generic fantasy.

You could've submitted the download directly to RMN instead of on a file hosting site with 10,000 "download" icons. I don't like having to play "where's Waldo McGamedownload" to find out the actual file download, and I doubt potential players will want to do the same.

Please submit your file to RMN directly - it streamlines everything. Thank you.

Edit: I see you re-uploaded the download directly to RMN. You have to set it as your primary download.
Hey there ^^ Game is great but i have small problem....in the beginning when u return from mines , Syndarions isnt at home and he leaves a massage. I have used the F12 because - and I know this is going to sound pathetic - having combed the menu many times, I can't find any other way to quit the game. It's not there as a menu option and I can't find it in any of the sub-menus. What am I missing? As for when it happens (and I can't remember if the first time was before or after I'd used F12), it's always when I save. As I always save into a different slot each time, it's not a variation on the old bug.
Hey. I'm having a problem: In the part of the game where you have to collect pieces of wood, I can't find the last one. I'm convinced that is in a small cave, but I can't get in. Can you help?

First off, thanks so much everyone for giving Manifest a shot. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it!

@demonlord5000 - Thanks for the detailed response. About the infuse abilities, they will increase in power as the character's attack increases, so they will slowly become more powerful than the straight elemental spells, and soon enough, will be significantly more powerful. But you're right, in that right now the normal elemental spells will probably be better bang for your AP. Only showing the last character during group heal spells is due to the use of the integrated reserve party script I'm using, and at some point I might look into fixing it, but the group abilities themselves work fine out of battle. The npc is put there to add some humor, in that it is implied the dockmaster told him he'd be right back, and then went to the bar and stayed/forgot about him, and locked his door on the way out. The man is patiently waiting at that point.

@Scourge - I'd love to see a review when you finish. Thanks for the feedback.

@Deckiller - I've switched the primary download to the direct one from this site.

@Fikusdg - In the note it mentioned a key in the fireplace, grab it and you can open the chest.

@littlebro - If you avoid using the f12 key you should be fine. Just close the window at the top right...I know it's not the most convenient but it works =)

@crazyexplorer - Did you check inside the trading company? Let me know if you still can't find it.

Thanks again all for playing.
Hey, I found it. Thanks. I also want to say a few things about your game: It's really good. I really liked the journal idea. To me it gave the idea of a story inside of another. I'm really enjoying it. Thanks again.
I am so sorry i didnt saw that about fireplace ^^ thank u and sorry for trouble :) game is great :)
I am after work so now i have chance again to play :) I am no expert but i I find something I will tell u ^^
Best wishes,

Great to hear, both of you. I hope you taking the time to try Manifest and to give your opinions will encourage others who read your comments to try it as well. Happy gaming.
Sorry about that, fixed it.

]I'm trying to get to the zeppelin in the cave.

I found the Hintboard: "Every puzzle has a solution...even this one"

I tried every button with or without the number 1, but I'm german, so maybe I'm missing something here, so I am asking for a little help with this one.[/hide

Otherwise the game is really great; I really like the puzzles, and the story is very engaging, even though the "Hero saves Girl" bit was out of place and didn't really fit into the story (In my opinion).

@NEIN - Thanks for playing Manifest. I'm really glad you're enjoying it. In the future can you please put anything that might be a spoiler in the "hidden" tags. I'll put a hint to your question and my responses to your feedback in one.

story spoiler inside
Every button in that room you're stuck in has a number. Hit the "even" buttons. Not really sure what you mean by the "Hero saves Girl" bit. She was going to be killed and he stepped in. Not doing that would seem out of character to me, based on everything else that has happened. It is also an exact reflection of what happened in the first journal entry when Seram protected the city of Sundrian in the Southern Alliance using Focus. I'd love to hear some more of your thoughts on why it didn't fit in the story.

Thanks again for your feedback. I hope you continue to enjoy the game.
Hello dear sbethune81 :)
I played ur game and i found that money isnt a problem :) of cours when u kill for example Gian Wasp u get 8 money from each. And using Vellanik skill u can get 25 more...and u can still use it on the same enemy more and more ;) It should be like that, that each enemy can be "Burgle" more then once :) ? I have 5 lvl and 1k money....I mean i am happy bout that xD
Still this is my question xD
Oh and btw Trux ROXX xD

@NEIN - Thanks for playing Manifest. I'm really glad you're enjoying it. In the future can you please put anything that might be a spoiler in the "hidden" tags. I'll put a hint to your question and my responses to your feedback in one.

Done! Sorry!

Part of it was that I knew in advance what would happen as soon as the words "Novriath is here" appeared on the screen. This was because it happend in A LOT of other games before, and it feels to me that it is a very contrived way of making one protagonist care about the other. This causes the suspension of disbelieve to stop for me, because it brings the following questions to my mind: How did she find him so fast, why did the hero take so long to find them, why was only the hero going after her while the rest just stood there, why did it take so long for the others to get there, why is it not possible to have a fair fight, etc. This does not mean that the hero should not go save his friend, it just means that all the other people should maybe want to do something too.
The other thing is the way it is presented to the player:
Val vs. Nov - A battle controled by me that I'm forced to lose.
Arme vs. Nov - A cutscene not controled by me that I'm forced to win.
( Maybe making Val's a cutscene, and Arme's a battle I could lose would be better)
The "supposed to lose fights" are a bad deus ex machina device in my opinion. If I HAVE to lose, because the story requires it, make it a cutscene; don't make it seem like I can win by doing "something" (leveling/tactic/equipment/items) , if "nothing" I do matters.

On a different note: Have you tested the smithing?
It looks like the alignement register is random to me. Sometime it says good or bad, even with no perceptible change.
Picking up on Nein's point
I agree about battles I'm going to lose anyway - I don't know the number of times I've wasted expensive/rare items trying to win when there's no point, but I do know that there's been a lot of them.

Any way, that issue apart, I'm really enjoying the game.

I appreciate the continued comments/critiques. NEIN, no problem about the spoiler tags, and thanks for changing it.

I would agree with both of you most of the time about a battle like that, however...

In this case, you are actually rewarded with an item after the fight if you made it to the end, so depending on how you view the value of the items you used vs. the value of the item you gained, it wasn't a waste.

Thank you for elaborating on that issue NEIN. Your points are very valid, and I'll give it some thought.

About your other question...

The smithing has been thoroughly tested, and once you find the timing, I believe you'll find it to be very consistent. I'm not sure whether you're anticpating the crossing of the arrows, but try waiting until the arrows are directly aligned before starting the keystroke.

Thank you again for the feedback and I hope to hear from you again.
