There exists a most curious and powerful race in the world of Ospes, able to manipulate and alter matter itself.

Their numbers are few, and from the beginning they have lived as outcasts, perceived as a threat to the world and every living thing in it.

They are called Theolar.

Thymetians, the most dominant race on Ospes, have done all that they can to suppress the Theolar. For they, more than any, are afraid of them.

Most Theolar are content to live in hiding and have abandoned the use of their abilities in hopes they would be forgotten. But among them there is a small group, known as the
Andurim, who are unwilling to give up that part of themselves.

Their sole purpose is to provide the Thymetians and the rest of the world with a glimpse of their greatness, now long overshadowed by what else they are capable of…

"All in all, you have certainly set a standard for vx games. I can't think of one that actually gripped me, and especially like this one did...
At any rate, I'm just saying I loved the game. I can tell it had a huge amount of work placed into it." - demonlord5000

What users from rpgmakervx.net have said...

"Whoa. This game is amazing. I can't recall the last time I enjoyed a game, commercial or otherwise, this much. You've managed to create a world that pulls the player in,
makes him identify with teh characters and feel for them. A world that feels alive with lore and history. Every time I found one of the Nayrin relics...
I really felt I was discovering bits and pieces of an ancient civilization, scattered all over the world." - Jeffrey

If anyone wants to play arguably one of the best all around put-together RPGs available to RPG Maker VX, this is hereby on your must-do list.
- goldenguy

"I will say that I liked the message and it was a brilliant adventure while it lasted. The plot was tight, the characters convincing and the puzzles
were the best I've seen aside from Alundra. If you ever manifest another spectacular game, I'll be looking forward to it." - tom11

"Firstly you have a great imagination and a flair for writing, your game really drew me in and was a real "key-presser" right up until the final
scenes. Your game was also very well balanced in terms of available money, EXP, etc. The inclusion of your excellent (occasionally challenging)
puzzles and mini-games help to distract the player along the way. Also quite importantly the game runs practically bug free..." - matt-tribal

"Bloody fantastic RPG. Minigames, optional quests, math puzzles. Love it all." - vitrous

"...there's so much that can be done, and the story and adventure just keep taking new turns and twists...It's been a long time since I've played a
game that I have a hard time "setting down" after 2-3 hours, but this is doing that." - goldenguy

"...a brilliant game, you have clearly put a lot of thought into creating the world of Ospes and especially into its characters. I definitely
appreciate the humorous dialogue too." - matt-tribal

Canvas is Complete!

Five years and two children later, I have finished my second game. The download has been updated. The game should last around 15 hours or so depending on a few factors including puzzles and sidequests. I have included a full walkthrough and complete item guide with the download. If you need more detailed help than the walkthrough gives, please don't hesitate to ask. I love every kind of feedback, especially bug reports if you find any. Thank you very much to those who take the time to download Canvas and give it a shot.

I've finished the game, and I have to say that I really enjoyed myself. I haven't got 100% completion, so that's an extra reason for keeping it to re-play. I don't always keep the games, but this one is a must.

Thanks for all your hard work.

@littlebro - Congratulations on beating Manifest! Thanks for your feedback and kind words, I'm thrilled to hear you enjoyed it. I can't remember if I've ever been thanked for the work I put in on the game...I really appreciate that =).

If you're interested in sharing it with friends, I've created a Manifest facebook page to make it easier to do so. Thanks again for playing.
Bug: action sequence key stationary attack does not exist. I forgot the name of the island = but it looks like and old castle thats been destroyed but Syndarion wants to look around anyway. It doesn't happen in every battle but if you didn't save - you start over at last save point. Other than that great great game so far !!! Its west of the sinking sands !

@dennis - Thanks for the report. That bug was first brought to my attention about a week ago, and I have since fixed it and updated the download link. If you want to fight worry free there you should download the current version and carry your save files over. Thanks for playing.
I was just tidying up my notes, and I noticed that there is another item missing off your list. Here it is for completeness sake.

It's in Folgrim Tower, where you have to drop down a hole to land on a pillar. That chest has a padded tunic.

Thanks for that littlebro, I'll fix that up.
Encountered a bug. Not 100% on this, but... if the main hero is defeated in the intro battle, when the intro is over and you're being sent to find the smith... you get a game over. At least, I think that's the reason why I got a game over there.

Lone Wolf, or something cool.

Wow, seems like a nice game, if you want, I can review it when I'm done.
Looks like a cool game, I'll be playing once I clear through my current list. About how many hours of gameplay?

Thanks for the interest in Manifest.

@Sock - That must be what caused it...as far as I know that's the first time it's ever happened. I've fixed it and any future releases will reflect that. I hope it didn't discourage you from continuing on, as I think you'll be hard-pressed to find any other bugs, especially like that one.

@Milos - Thanks for giving it a shot. As for a review, I'll leave that to you if you feel so inclined or inspired to write one after playing.

@lucidrose - Thanks for the compliment. I hope you get a chance to try it...I'd say the length varies from about 20 - 30 hours depending on if you head straight through the main story, or if you try to do everything there is to do.
Still stumped.
In my first play through I wasn't able to crack the final Nayrin Ruin on the little green island south of Ordune. I've gone back to an earlier save to have another go, but - despite some considerable time - I still can't get a complete path up to the second transporter. Any chance of some help on this?
Thanks

Actually, while I'm here:
In the Cave of the Recluse I can do the first puzzle, where you have to move the angles around to get the orb to throw the switches. The second room - if I have worked it out correctly - requires some fast maneuvering. If I am correct then, like several of the mini-games, I shall always be unable to complete it because my reflexes/reactions are simply not good enough. Is my assumption about dashing around correct, or have I misinterpreted what is required?
I had the same difficulty with the final rolling boulder puzzle in the Grotto which was another thing I wasn't able to complete because of the reflexes required. I must admit, I got pretty hacked off by the number of things where no amount of tactics/strategy/skill/patience/practice would ever make a difference, because it was all determined by unalterable physiology. There, rant over.

@littlebro - This may sound funny, but I tried to design that Nayrin Ruins puzzle such that you couldn't really memorize the solution no matter how many times you've solved it...and that includes me. But...

I can tell you to hit each switch a few times so that you can make a note of which tiles it affects. The final path should be the one that runs along the very top right of the screen.

As far as the other puzzle goes...

You shouldn't have to move too quickly if you start with the triangle blocks far from each other on opposite sides of the room. Have one lined up with the orb shooter, and once it hits it, arrange it so that they make an endless loop. Then slowly bring them in closer together, without destroying the loop.

Good luck.
Thanks for help with the other puzzle; that one's now sorted. As for the first, the Ruins one, I had already taken a screen shot and carefully marked which tile was opened or closed by each switch. My problem is that, for example, turning the switch to the left of the top teleporter green is needed to open the path to the top right switch, but it breaks a tile open on the final stretch of the path. I need to press the right switch to close a gap, but I can't get back to the left one to close its gap and return without opening up another gap - and so on. It's driving me demented.

@littlebro - You'll get it. And it should make you feel better to know that the puzzle you're struggling with, and the other one you asked about and finished, are the two most difficult puzzles in the game, in my opinion. They're also probably my two favorites.
Really fun game so far. For once, I'm actually reading the dialogue instead of just skimming through it.

One of the issues I've come across early on is that Ethers/Tonics are too expensive. They're more than 33 times the cost of a potion, and they won't even fully restore a character's MP at level 5. It makes using spells that much more painful - I almost restarted the first boss battle because I used a tonic right before he died (because of no visual HP gauge...), and that's not really fun to do. Try lowering the price to, say, 60 or 75 gold - players shouldn't have to worry about using one or two during a boss fight or all times. Either that, or try doubling the initial MP gauge to offset the steep price.

Edit: Another option is to have a weaker tonic available at the start and make them progressively stronger and costlier as the game goes on. 20/40/60/80 AP restoration tonics for 75/150/300/600 gold, or something to that effect.

Also, the ghost boss is overkill even on Normal mode. Silence-all -and- confuse all, with no spells to cure each and only a single silence restorative/silence amulet available? It would probably be perfectly balanced if the spells were single-target.
Yes - finally got that last puzzle sorted, went to Argyle and dealt with what came next with, IMHO, a degree of stylish elan - i.e. got it in one go, with no deaths. Very satisfying.

@Deckiller - Thank you for playing Manifest and for taking the time to give feedback. It was by design that tonics are so expensive (relatively) in the beginning of the game. There are enough of them in chests to keep you going and let you use 1 or 2 comfortably for boss battles in the early game. I like the idea of focus use (partly for story's sake) being fairly limited at first. I'm also pretty happy with the overall difficulty of battles and bosses on normal...it sounds like you got unlucky with his combination/frequency of skills. Hope you're enjoying it, and I look forward to hearing from you again.

@littlebro - That's awesome! Glad you got to experience that side quest, as it is my favorite (and largest) in the game.
