Stickdude goes to hell is an odd little game, not sure which adjective should get the stress in that sentence since it is both odd and little, and is pretty much exactly what the title suggests. Stickdude, our eponymous crudely drawn hero in a hoodie finds himself in Hell after a spectacular accident involving a motorcycle and a loaf of bread. He somehow intuitively knows he has seven minutes and six seconds (or 666 seconds for the biblical scholars amongst you) to find his way out of hell or he will lose his soul for all eternity.

I'm assuming that's soul, not a small French coin or flaky Chinese pastry.

Why he is on the clock is never explained, but if you are given an opportunity to save your soul in such a situation, spending time asking why seems counter-intuitive. You just run. From this point the race is on to traverse the monochrome world of hell, and honestly a boring black and white plane of existence where nothing happens except trying to beat a merciless timer sounds like a version of hell to me, and make it to the end before your allotted time runs out.

So Stickdude runs, well actually since this is RM2K he proceeds at the default speed, it's not like dash was available back then, and is randomly attacked along the way by monster kittens drawn by a three-year-old as he works his way through the maze of twisted passageways and dead-ends, pun probably intended.

Are those monster kittens mooning me?

Stickdude goes to hell is the shortest game I've ever played, and I really have no idea why a save option was included, since it took me about three minutes to complete, which means I had to write a hundred words per minute for this review. Given it was probably made as a joke it succeeds pretty well in entertaining me because it's just plain silly. Does Stickdude make it out and save his immortal soul from eternal damnation and suffering? Download the game and find out...or don't and just PM me if you really want to know.
