This is an Alex entry ( a chain map event ) that I submitted back in October at Meridian Dance. The event didn’t really go through so I’m posting what I’ve done here.

- Note -
There are text sounds and using shift in the editor will effect the sync. Also a tip, talk to everyone and read everything. The story was not fleshed out because it was originally just an Alex entry. I decided against actually fleshing it out as there are enough details in the story for a user to come up with their own interpretation. There is an overall story so if you're really interested just post your impressions first and I'll get around putting what I intended the story to be.

I believe it's standalone but if it's not let me know.

Hey. Tried to leave this as a review but it was denied for some reason.

REVIEW:

I love the feeling on this brief snippet of what could be a grand project. The dialogue has a depth of emotion and the visuals are great. I love the way that conversations are handled (with animated pictures and a strip of transparency backing the text.)

I was keen to find out who the people were and what was going on in their world. Even though this demo is incredibly short it was genuinely effective on an emotional level.

The only fault is the brevity of it. Is there more coming or is this the end?
Hey, it's nice that you enjoyed it glad you liked it :). What I wanted to do with this was make the short story more easy to follow but open ended.

Because of the deadline (which idk was pointless in the end since the event died) I cut it too short. The theme of the event was basically ship, island, riftraft, include Alex. There's a story revolving around Caroline, an event had occur but those details are left out, the ending shows a past event which is somewhat of a hint. If you read all the npc dialogue you maybe able to piece it together. All I know is that it was too short and vague, it could have been better imo with a few more scenes.

I made a little story and I wanted to see if people could figure it out, it's unfortunately pretty vague. No one really responded so I kind of forgot about it. If I were to ever work on this again I would only add a few more maps to make it more understandable.

Glad you liked it though, was trying something different.
hey so you are the member that made this game this is so cool but
so short.i am a fan of this
Thanks, I still would like to make short entries in the future. I thought of returning to finish this up but I didn't really have it in me to come back to this.

Love those maps.
A year's worth of no posts, but I finally got around to this today. Odd game, a bit disheartening since I wanted more.

However, my interpretation of this: Caroline was a past love and she had died. Alexander went mad and was confined to a sort of mental hospital / monastery for therapy. Perhaps he was schizophrenic? That would explain the nun and peaceful surroundings, and other patients are there picking up a sort of therapeutic hobby, such as learning music.

Caroline's father blames Alexander and doesn't want anything to do with him. Likewise, Alexander is haunted by Caroline's ghost, and blames himself for her death.

Perhaps they were the lovers at the beach, and he was the one who was drunk and thinking himself "unworthy".
