"Celes, a woman raised from childhood as the prophesied Savior, embarks on a mission to fulfill her destiny and protect the world. But she soon finds herself at odds with a man with a mysterious investment in her mission, and learns that there may be more to her role than she bargained for..."

Eons ago, the world and all of its splendours were created by the magnificent and all-powerful being simply known as the "Creator." It wove the threads of life, and upon creating the planet of Tsufanubra, spotted it with its most cherished life-form: man.

Having gifted mankind with all of its blessing and necessities, the Creator simply watched as man forged his own path in life, and over the decades crafted himself in to a race of truly wondrous individuals numbering in the millions.

The Creator, however, grew tired of this creation, and thus gave life to three heavenly Kings to watch over and monitor the world in his stead. Overseeing their lord's creation from on-high, the Three Kings of Tsufanubra guided their people into an age of peace and prosperity for countless years to follow...

Then that fated day cameā€”the day wherein a great darkness spilled from the opposite world of Arbunafust, and threatened to dominate Tsufanubra and all who lived upon it. The efforts of this otherworldly force, however, were thwarted by the Three Kings. They gifted mankind with four divine relics, then simply waited for man to take back what had been stolen from them.

With the aid of their overseers, man was able to forcibly remove the invading force, and cast it back to whence it came.

Their purpose completed, the relics bore themselves into the earth, forever shedding their light in silence so that mankind could attain eternal peace.

There's an LP?! (And another Update!)

That's right, folks! UPRC (creator of the widely popular Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy series) has stated a "Let's Play" of Chronicles of Tsufanubra. If all of you kind folk would care to give this wonderful individual a Like and Share for his efforts, that'd be greatly appreciated!

And yes, there's been another update. Substantial? Kind of. The MP3 version of the game's now been officially made the default version you're prompted to download after clicking that big button up there in the corner. I found that the old MP3 edition was lacking a little something, so I went in and mixed things up a bit, added a few songs, tweaked a few stats, and cranked out what's now this game's DEFINITIVE EDITION!

So if you haven't downloaded CoT yet, or have been on the fence about doing so, there's never been a better time! Unless something truly game-breaking (randomly) pops up, I'm hoping to never lay my hands on this game again! I think it's time to let this baby rest.

Thanks for the continued support and all of the wonderful downloads and subscriptions you've given this game. I truly appreciate all of you amazing and wonderful people for making this project as great as it is! =D

There are some pacing issues at the beginning of the game which we couldn't really have fixed with a substantial reworking of the plot, but the biggest weakness in the beginning might be that Celes is to a large extent a foil type character, and isn't at her most interesting until she has the rest of the party to play off of her.

If the beginning seems at all interesting, pretty much everything should be uphill from there.
I'm giving this a play now that it's completed.
Just got to the part where I save the princess.

Here's a few things I've noticed:

- Teleport in the spooky castle is broken. The one with the switch the lowers water. After I hit the switch for the door to open, going back in the water-lowering room teleports you to the door-opening room instead.
- I was gonna say God didn't give me a present for the castle dungeon but he did... just had to go back through to find it. It would be nice if the treasures God gives you are found on your way out. In this case, maybe in the courtyard with the small pond since you are automatically teleported to the main castle after defeating the boss.)
- That snake monster on a cliff in the forest is the trolliest, most annoying thing ever. Took me about 10 minutes before the damn thing went even close to where I was and I walked through the cave teleporter by accident. Cue another 10 minutes waiting when I got back. >.<;
- There's no way to get that one chest near that monster. I tried every teleporter I could find, no go. The completionist in my is crying. :/ Oh great, and even if there was a way, once you get to the end of the forest the teleports stop so you can't even go back to get it or any of the other treasures. What if you went the right way by accident? That's no fair!
- Fairy scythe is taking MP each time I attack... as are other weapons. Might be a good idea to note that in some way?

I'll add to the list as I progress, but I'm quite enjoying this so far. I have to say, I expected a more subversive story on the outset (along the lines of Grandfather having raised a stooge and the real Saviour being crazy-mc-I'm-pretty-sure-they're-a-cross-dresser-person with the king being in on it) but seems that's not the way the story is going. I dunno, it felt maybe a bit too fast and thus a bit off in the introduction. It just felt a little hinky? Well, it still might go an unexpected direction from that front, but we'll see.
And this is why I find the public to perhaps be the best test players of all time. They'll do things you never gave a second thought to, and stumble upon something you never even knew existed, even AFTER multiple playthroughs!

I've addressed the issues you mentioned, Liberty! Thanks for bringing them to my attention. Although the Fairy Scythe was never supposed to drain MP! Guess that's an oversight on my part. The weapons that DO drain (some) MP are those that are linked to an element, but you won't access those until a little later.

The teleportation events in the Arvandi Woods should only deactivate once you've cleared the area of monsters? Also, I have to take the blame for that distracting chest... it was on purpose! A deliberate troll. It's a duplicate chest. If you've already got the Fairy Scythe, then you've already got what was in that chest =P Hahahahahaha!

That's an, uh... interesting take on where you thought the story was going! But I've played through these scenes soooooo many tiiiiiiiimes (as I'm sure we all have in all our projects) that anything story-related just doesn't affect me. Well, aside from the introductory section being a little iffy.
I guess I was just expecting non-straight-forward storyline for some reason.

Another possible issue is that I can't find the special chest after clearing out the big tower. Looked everywhere but no go. There were a LOT of monsters and I want my God prize. ;.;

(I found the issue - the monsters disappeared after the boss, so I missed two rooms right at the start that had monsters.

EDIT: I say that but still no chest. ??? )

I think the more important question everyone wants the answer to is: do you like the battle animations for the skills? ;D
They're a'ight. ;p

Nah, they're actually quite nice. It is great to see new animations since I'm a bit over the RTP ones (hence why I try not to use them. ;p ) But yeah, they're fitting for the spells. I also appreciate that status effects hit fairly often and that bosses get hit by them too. Oh, and while I could do without missing quite so much for certain attacks/weapons, it's yet to get too annoying (though it's close - I tend to miss a fair amount, sadly.)

I am surprisingly put off by the music though! I'm well used to RM games that use ripped music, but for some reason I expected custom stuff (or I've gotten used to games using non-ripped music at least) so it keeps surprising me when I recognise a tune from Lufia or Wild ARMs or something. It's really immersion-breaking, oddly enough, even though the choices themselves fit well for the scenes. Like, the music was picked well, but it feels weird to hear them in this game, if that makes any sense. I'd actually highly recommend looking into replacing them so as to give the game a bit more of it's own identity in that area.

I seem to have expected something different of the game than I'm getting. XD

I am enjoying it so far, though, so great job. I do wish healing would be a bit better (or that a mid-heal spell would appear. Currently I've only got the all-party mid-heal and it's annoying to have to use it, so I sunk my money into 99 Healing Potions. Because I didn't have anything else to spend it on. It was a good decision. X3

I'd also like to recommend putting God chests somewhere marked each dungeon. Say have a specific special tile or something that they'll appear on. That way, when travelling through, you can make note of that special tile when you see it and know exactly where to go to find the chest. It's a bit annoying to have to look through every place you've already cleared (there's no reason for you to head back through them because you're not getting new experience from it at all - it's just padding).
I'm enjoying this game so far. However I agree with Libby on the music. I'm used to RM games with non ripped music too. If you're having trouble finding original music try getting some of the Music Packs if you can. Most of them have mp3 versions too. This is just a suggestion.
I probably wouldn't recommend the music packs myself, since most of them are pretty meh (and overused) and this game should have some good music instead. The RMN one is about the only music pack that's worth anything (hopefully RMN Music Pack 2 will be as good as it). There are numerous sites with great music out there though.
Here's a link to some: http://pinkuboa.tumblr.com/post/92110744181/see-i-did-do-something-for-200-followers-12

I'm not gonna go any further ahead in case I missed some super secret hidden room of monsters or something - once you do the boss to the tower all the monsters vanish so you can't get the chest and I want the chest, gaddamnit! >:P

I've been in the four rooms off the first room, including the hidden side room in the bottom-right.
Second floor has the two rooms to the side (jumping and chapel).
Third floor has the jumpy part and that one chest in the top-left.
Fourth floor is a fucking mess of rooms. From the Third floor staircase I went to the bottom stairs of the two choices and followed the path to the dead-end there. Got both chests. There were no other hidden paths in this part I could find.
Back to the transition point of the third floor to fourth, the top stairs. Took the stairs at the bottom (not the left-most ones), which lead to the water room and no hidden areas there.
Back up and take the stairs on the left, went past the stairs going up to get the chest hidden on the right. No other paths here.
Go up the stairs, into the room with the two chests and knight statues. Head through the passage to the right, go down the stairs, nab those two chests. Head back up and up again.
Nothing here but two outside switches. Go up, save and heal. Up to boss.

I've killed every monster I met in all those rooms or that were running around. I don't imagine the boss counts as a monster, right? So have I missed something?
I never experienced someone so adamant on obtaining their optional goodies! Hahahahaha. I'll have to check when I get home sometime tonight. Would you mind sending me your save file, Liberty? Then I can check how many enemies you've killed in the tower. I didn't THINK anything was wrong with the event that makes the treasure appear, so perhaps you just missed a monster?

Anyway, I'll have a more in-depth response when I'm off work and not on my phone =P
Hey, the Gods promised me goodies if I did the work, so I want the goodies, ya know? ;p

If I am missing some monsters, could you let me know where? I'm pretty sure I found all the hidden rooms and monsters, but I could have missed something.

That needs to be a new RMN tagline.
Not sure if you guys still want to look into new music buuuuut:

http://www.williamkage.com/music/

this guy makes original tracks using SNES soundfonts, not sure if they're the kind of soud you're going for, but I think its worth looking into. he's got dozens of singles and 3 albums worth of the stuff.

Also, this is a thing I googled:
https://soundcloud.com/aaron-anderson-11/sets/rpg-maker-music-loops

And lastly, I know of this from a while ago:
Remastered RM2k3 Soundtrack
I have contacted the guy who remastered the tracks, and he said anyone is free to use them in their projects. May be weird of me to suggest the default OST, but some these songs sound totally different remastered
Okay, THAT'S weird! Apparently you DID defeat all of the monsters (I checked their individual switches), but the variable count is only at 59 instead of 60? Huh. I guess I made a duplicate by mistake? I'll have to lower it to 59.

OH! Actually, after investigating even FURTHER, I found that I'd actually STARTED to lower the "Required Defeated Monsters #" to 59... but only did it for the first floor. Oops! SO glad you caught this, Liberty! I vaguely remember Corfaisus bringing this to my attention, but I guess I got distracted while attempting to fix it. Anywhoo, I'm going to update the download!

EDIT: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAND it's done!

In regards to the music: I've never had an issue with games utilizing pre-existing songs from commercial titles, namely because I always had the mindset of "go with what fits, even if it's not original." It's probably a strange way of thinking these days, but I've stumbled upon some "unique" and original soundtracks that left a LOT to be desired, and ruined my experience with the game if anything.

Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to have an original soundtrack, and perhaps I will some day! ... But I'd like to take a break from doing anything MAJOR with this game for a while unless it's fixing and adjusting small bugs and errors such as the ones Liberty had experienced. I need to start PLAYING games for a change, 'cause my library's getting backed up! I put so much effort into MAKING that I neglected to actually PLAY anything for any considerable amount of time.

Is a soundtrack switch possible? Totally! ... Just not yet. =B
I also just killed all the monsters in the castle tower and was wondering where the chest was D:
How much MP does an elemental weapon use when attacking? I was wondering why Sando keeps losing MP. I think it's 3 MP per attack or does it depend on the weapon? Probably should be noted in the description of the weapon or explained by that weapon tutorial woman.
I really like the game so far great job!

Edit: I just found a Pointed Hat in the next kingdom on the world map.
It says DEF+20 INT+20 AGL-20 but when I equip it there aren't any stat changes to my character; same as not wearing anything.

I definitely agree with that. While the on-hiatus game I'm involved with does have original music, I would like to create some short game eventually that would have a lot of pre-existing commercial music. However, I certainly wouldn't go for the JRPG grands of the day, and instead mainly employ semi-recent, semi-obscure Western action games. The kind of music that didn't get heard enough because the game itself wasn't that good, and which will hopefully inspire people to look through the credits and then look up those games themselves.

That's the spirit! If you're going to go with commercial game music, obscure stuff is always wonderful ^_^

Dang! Yeah... apparently that hat does absolutely NOTHING except grant you the minor status resistances.
Finally out already!? Man, this is a good start to 2017 here, if 2017 hasn't started off okay by now.

I need to play this and complete it. I've been itching to play it for some time now. I've played the first two Dragon Fantasies and Dragon Fantasy: HoT (Haven't completed them, but I might get around to finishing someday).

This looks awesome, and I'm ready to dive into an unforgettable experience!

(So, why do I feel like I've just reacted to this game's completion like a total fanboy?)
So happy to see that it's stirring up a bit of excitement in some people! Awesome. And out ALREADY!? It's been in development since 2012! Hahahahahaha. Can't you tell? =P

Actually, that time frame is a tad shameful for what the game has to offer. That's not to say it doesn't have its fair share of content, but enough to warrant being in development for 5-6 years?! At least I can fall back on the the fact that the first version was completely scrapped and remade when both Corfaisus and Desertopa joined the team. That... and I'm pretty slow! =B

If you do get a chance to play, be sure to drop back with your thoughts! Any feedback is good feedback.
Found some tiny piny things:
Root Helmet doesn't state that it reduces ATK by 15
Miner's Hat reduces AGL by 15 and not 14 as stated in the description. Probably a typo. :P
Enough nitpicking off I go!
