"Celes, a woman raised from childhood as the prophesied Savior, embarks on a mission to fulfill her destiny and protect the world. But she soon finds herself at odds with a man with a mysterious investment in her mission, and learns that there may be more to her role than she bargained for..."

Eons ago, the world and all of its splendours were created by the magnificent and all-powerful being simply known as the "Creator." It wove the threads of life, and upon creating the planet of Tsufanubra, spotted it with its most cherished life-form: man.

Having gifted mankind with all of its blessing and necessities, the Creator simply watched as man forged his own path in life, and over the decades crafted himself in to a race of truly wondrous individuals numbering in the millions.

The Creator, however, grew tired of this creation, and thus gave life to three heavenly Kings to watch over and monitor the world in his stead. Overseeing their lord's creation from on-high, the Three Kings of Tsufanubra guided their people into an age of peace and prosperity for countless years to follow...

Then that fated day cameā€”the day wherein a great darkness spilled from the opposite world of Arbunafust, and threatened to dominate Tsufanubra and all who lived upon it. The efforts of this otherworldly force, however, were thwarted by the Three Kings. They gifted mankind with four divine relics, then simply waited for man to take back what had been stolen from them.

With the aid of their overseers, man was able to forcibly remove the invading force, and cast it back to whence it came.

Their purpose completed, the relics bore themselves into the earth, forever shedding their light in silence so that mankind could attain eternal peace.

There's an LP?! (And another Update!)

That's right, folks! UPRC (creator of the widely popular Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy series) has stated a "Let's Play" of Chronicles of Tsufanubra. If all of you kind folk would care to give this wonderful individual a Like and Share for his efforts, that'd be greatly appreciated!

And yes, there's been another update. Substantial? Kind of. The MP3 version of the game's now been officially made the default version you're prompted to download after clicking that big button up there in the corner. I found that the old MP3 edition was lacking a little something, so I went in and mixed things up a bit, added a few songs, tweaked a few stats, and cranked out what's now this game's DEFINITIVE EDITION!

So if you haven't downloaded CoT yet, or have been on the fence about doing so, there's never been a better time! Unless something truly game-breaking (randomly) pops up, I'm hoping to never lay my hands on this game again! I think it's time to let this baby rest.

Thanks for the continued support and all of the wonderful downloads and subscriptions you've given this game. I truly appreciate all of you amazing and wonderful people for making this project as great as it is! =D

Then perhaps you DID miss a monster?! Sometimes, if you're particularly unlucky, one of them wanders into the hidden paths. If you have the latest version, the treasure should appear if you've defeated all the monsters =O

There's 59 enemys in total.
When I have time, I'm definitely going to play through this game, I already have it downloaded and waiting :) I can see and admire the amount of work put into this project and I want to experience it now lol.

I'll be sure to leave my thoughts for sure after completing it as well!

Is there any way I can check how many of them I've killed, Ephiam?
If you open the game in the editor abd test play you can check. I think if you hit F9 you'll open a window that'll allow you to see what variables and switches are activated/off. There's a "TOWER NONSTERS" variable that should be at 59.

If not, you can send your save my way so I can check when I get off work!

Apparently I missed three.
Oh well, better luck in the next area! I never did expect everyone to obtain EVERY (or very few, if any) reward for clearing the monsters from a particular location.

Fun fact: Desertopa and I were convinced there wouldn't be many people AT ALL who wanted to obtain the special treasures or fight the optional bosses. Guess we were wrong, huh? Seems to be what everyone who comments seems to be doing! Bahahaha

It's cool, I got the remaining ones. I had to reload a few saves back so the monsters weren't gone after beating Giruvega, but I got the chest! Also you suck at doors, I didn't realise I could go southwest and southeast in the tower entrance bit because there are other parts that look exactly like that and AREN'T doors. :P

That's my bad.

Just noticed when watching the uploaded video from today's LP that if you examine the torture device chest during the Sando+Lifa section, the dialogue still says it's Celes talking.
I'll definitely have to address all of these smaller details in the next update! It won't be happening for quite a while.

I'm also under the impression that I should perhaps buff some late game enemies and bosses? People seem to be having a FAR easier time than I'd intended! =B
Nah, the balance is fine. People just know what they're doing by that point.
I can't believe I waited that long to play another one of your games, Ephiam. While I'm sorry to bother you almost immediately after you've updated the downloadable game version, this could be one small part of and an incentive for the next version: In the God Eye's tower, the stairs that lead to the two treasure chests guarded by two knights (as described in that note somewhere further down in the tower) can also be accessed from the back (this concerns two tiles). What a disappointment it was when I recognized that I didn't find another secret passage. :D Also, it's funny that you just fixed a similar mistake (one I didn't find) regarding the black magic shop in Borduna.

Just a few days ago I downloaded Chronicles of Tsufanubra. Will I run the risk of encountering compatibility issues when I upgrade to the new version? Maybe I shouldn't upgrade in the middle of a dungeon at least. I'm still in the God Eye's tower, and I admire your dungeon design so far and love the "kill all enemies to get a treasure" feature. :)
It shouldn't affect your game much at all, to be honest, but to get the best experience I'd definitely recommend getting the update! But yeah, like you said, it'd probably be best to do so AFTER you've completed your trek through the Mountain Tower.
I've had no problems so far after updating to the newest version and resuming my save file from the previous version. Right now, I'm supposed to go to the mine northwest of Ziazu, but I prefer to explore the world map - despite the sudden spike regarding monster difficulty. (Un)fortunately, I wasn't able to indulge in sequence breaking, since there are sufficient "roadblocks" everywhere.

When I tried to reach Soriiati early, though, I got a warning message, concluding with "You decide that going any further would be in your best interest". I suppose there should be a "not" between "that" and "going"; alternatively, "wouldn't" instead of "would" should do the job, too.
I found something I don't think I was supposed to.
I went back to Cerberus's Cage, where I had just fought Vlad and Veryl. (What can I say; other games have conditioned me to return to the boss room to look for loot, even if the heroes are scripted to leave immediately.)
There wasn't anything there ... but when I poked at the altar ... the third stone from the left ...
Everyone suddenly gained about 6 levels, and got unceremoniously teleported to the next town. Some remnant of testing?
I didn't save afterwards; who knows what that might break ... but still...
It's also one of my RPG rules to always revisit places I wasn't allowed to explore because of some event that takes place automatically. Since I just finished my trek through Cerberus' Cage, I could confirm what you had found, Varn. I think it's just some very well-hidden reward, and I'm confident it hasn't broken anything. Surely Ephiam will warn me if I'm about to ruin my save file.

Edit 1: Cool, this reward also includes increased walking speed. :)

Edit 2: Powergaming scum that I am, I tried to confirm if the reward can be "earned" multiple times. Suddenly, one bridge on the way to the inside of Cerberus' Cage has become impassable (independent of the increased walking speed). Said measure, though, strongly hints that this one-time only reward is an intentional design choice.

Edit 3: Turns out: Don't take this "reward" or you lock yourself out of one of the bonus bosses' locations (see post below from Varn).
Hmm. You're ... probably going to regret that. Turns out the bonus boss, Hades, is on the same tile as that 'reward'. (Though he only drops a scythe I never bothered using, and if the spoiler page is to believed, isn't necessary to slay to unlock the mega-boss)
I didn't think of that, so thanks for the warning, even though it could be considered your duty as I probably never would have found this "reward" on my own, due to the lack of my use of the keyboard's "enter" key. ;) Not having pressed on with the next location yet, I will load a save prior to trying out this "reward" before I continue. Slaying all optional bosses is an honour I don't intend to forego. So much for "intentional design choice". :D
OH BOY! Well... at least that resolved its self fairly quickly! That's definitely NOT a secret reward of any kind. It's a leftover event that I somehow forgot to delete that was being used for testplaying. If anything, continuing after using it could definitely mess a lot of things up! Hahahaha.

Thanks for letting me know! I had no idea I'd left anything like that in the game, or at least not one anyone can reach ;) hahahahha.
Almost makes me want to poke a whole bunch of other random things now :)

But I finished last night, super-mega-boss and all; almost wish there was something worth using that Eradicator on, though I suppose its fitting Celes got to keep it...

Very enjoyable! I ... probably wouldn't grind out all the 100% clear items again (especially the one in the final dungeon, far after hitting the level cap, for 'only' 3 more divine tears). The story was very interesting; especially after I realized I must have played the original DF at some time.

(One criticsm - some of the cutscene animations REALLY drug on, and detracted from things. Especially all those times Yoor would say "...", there'd be a 5 second pause, Lifa would say "...", 5 second pause ... then Sando ... then pause ... then Celes ... then another pause ... then "!" from Celes ... then a longer pause ... then "<3" from at least one person ... well, you get the idea. REALLY galling the few times I lost to a boss and had to sit through again...)
