In this blog, I'll enlighten all of you on what each member of the party can and cannot do, as well as the equipment types available to them.


Celes, the Savior.
Starts at LEVEL 1 with a MAX LEVEL of 50.
Has access to the Flare and Recover spells upon starting the game, and can then learn the following magics:

Freeze, Shock, Toxin, Dark Cloud, Petrification, Seal, Dream World, Confusion, Madness, Stop, Slow, Weak, Break, Shatter, Syphon, Drain, Mega Death, Purification, Red Curse, Blue Curse, Yellow Curse.


Celes can equip ALL weapon types.






Lifa, Princess of Yurudos.
Starts at LEVEL 5 with a MAX LEVEL of 50.
Has access to the Flare, Freeze, and Shock spells upon starting the game, and can then learn the following magics:

Red Sky, Dragon Breath, Blizzard, Ice Goddess, Lightning Storm, Mjolnir, Toxin, Dark Cloud, Petrification, Seal, Dream World, Syphon, Drain, Death, Destruction Wave.


Lifa can equip Dagger and Book weapon types.






Sando, the Princess' Guard.
Starts at LEVEL 3 with a MAX LEVEL of 50.
Has access to the NO spells upon starting the game, but can then learn the following magics:

Weak, Break, Shatter, Syphon, Drain, Knight's Rage, Rock Wall.


Sando can equip Sword, Scythe, Dagger, and Axe weapon types.






Yoor, the King's Aid
Starts at LEVEL 6 with a MAX LEVEL of 50.
Has access to the Recover and Healing Party spells upon starting the game, and can then learn the following magics:

Fairy Light, Angel Feather, Creator's Blessing, Knight's Rage, Rock Wall, Wings of Light, Wizard's Knowledge, Titan's Wrath, Crystal Wall, Wind God's Blessing, Sage's Wisdom, Purification, Healing Circle, Elemental Guardian, Heaven's Protection.


Yoor can equip Dagger and Book weapon types.








In the beginning, each character had access to a much larger pool of magical abilities, but I thought it best to limit said access due to it resulting in the player's party becoming much too "same-y" at endgame. Celes and Lifa both could learn AOE elemental abilities, resulting in complete devastation of the enemy party; Lifa could also have learned every debuff and status ailment. It would have given the player a lot of options, sure, but then battles would become a spam-fest with little thought involved regarding what ability to use next, etc.






As an extra bit of juicy information, here's the list of spells available to the party in full detail:

Flare:weak Fire magic. Costs 3 MP.
Red Sky: multi-targeting Fire magic. Costs 9 MP.
Dragonbreath: strong Fire magic. Costs 18 MP.

Freeze: weak Ice magic. Costs 3 MP.
Blizzard: multi-targeting Ice magic. Costs 9 MP.
Ice Goddess: strong Ice magic. Costs 18 MP.

Shock: weak Lightning magic. Costs 3 MP.
Lightning Storm: multi-targeting Lightning magic. Costs 9 MP.
Mjolnir: strong Lightning magic. Costs 18 MP.

Toxin: Poisons a single target. Costs 4 MP.
Dark Cloud: Blinds a group of enemies. Costs 3 MP.
Petrification: Petrifies a single target. Costs 8 MP.
Seal: Silences a single target. Costs 6 MP.
Dream World: Makes a group of enemies fall asleep. Costs 6 MP.
Confusion: Confuses a single target. Costs 14 MP.
Madness: Berserks a single target. Costs 12 MP.
Stop: Stops a single target. Costs 16 MP.

Slow: Lowers a target's AGL. Costs 7 MP.
Weak: Lowers a target's ATK. Costs 10 MP.
Break: Lower a target's DEF. Costs 10 MP.
Shatter: Lower a target's INT. Costs 10 MP.
Syphon: Absorbs HP from an enemy. Costs 18 MP.
Drain: Aborbs MP from an enemy. Costs 5 MP.
Death: Instantly kills a single target. Costs 45 MP.
Mega Death: Instantly kills the enemy party. Costs 80 MP.
Destruction Wave: Deals incredible non-elemental damage to the enemy party. Costs 65 MP.

Recover: Heals a small amount of HP to one target. Costs 3 MP.
Healing Party: Recovers very small amount of HP to party. Costs 5 MP.
Fairy Light: Recovers decent amount of HP to the party. Costs 10 MP.
Angel Feather: Recover a large amount of HP to one target. Costs 18 MP.
Creator's Blessing: Recover a terrific amount of HP to the party. Costs 32 MP.
Knight's Rage: Increase a target's ATK. Costs 8 MP.
Rock Wall: Increase a target's DEF. Costs 8 MP.
Wings of Light: Increase a target's AGL. Costs 8 MP.
Wizard's Knowledge: Increase a target's INT. Costs 8 MP.
Titan's Wrath: Increase the party's ATK. Costs 40 MP.
Crystal Wall: Increase the party's DEF. Costs 20 MP.
Wind God's Blessing: Increase the party's AGL. Costs 25 MP.
Sage's Wisdom: Increase the party's INT. Costs 35 MP.
Purification: Remove all status abnormalities from a single target. Costs 40 MP.
Healing Circle: Remove all status abnormalities from the party. Costs 95 MP.
Elemental Guardian: Increase a target's elemental resistances. Costs 35 MP.
Heaven's Protection: Increase the party's elemental resistances. Costs 100 MP.

Red Curse: Lowers a target's Fire resistance. Costs 25 MP.
Blue Curse: Lowers a target's Ice resistance. Costs 25 MP.
Yellow Curse: Lowers a target's Lightning resistance. Costs 25 MP.
