Gensokyo...a land full of long forgotten creatures and magic. Many a day has gone peacefully in this land separated from the outside world, until one day a mystical artifact known as the Pandora's Box arrives and begins to wreck havoc across the land. If not stopped, then all shall be returned to nothingness. Join Reimu and her friends on a quest to defeat the entities of the Pandora's Box and save their beloved land from the forces of chaos!

This game follows a style similarly to the Final Fantasy series, incorporating a vast amount of abilities, monsters, and ideas from the Final Fantasy universe, while still retaining the Touhou nature of the main series. Various aspects of the Final Fantasy series incorporated into the game includes the Blue Magic system, Gil Toss, Scan, Steal, and Chakra in-battle, a Skill System similar to that found in Final Fantasy II, and the characters playing roles similar to various classes in the Final Fantasy series such as the Black Mage and Knight. However, this game also incorporates ideas from various other series, including Legend of Zelda, Valkyrie Profile, and Super Mario RPG. Players can control up to 4 characters at a time in any given battle, but can have access to as many as 30 playable characters, several of which are optional.

Final Update!!

Howdy all! So, it's been a good long while since I last posted, but at long last, I do believe the game is now finished! 99.99% done, at least, there's still a couple things that I haven't been ABLE to do (still looking for a spriter for a character), and there might still be bugs and glitches here and there, but overall, the game is actually done after nearly 12 years in the works!

Main file: https://rpgmaker.net/games/3758/downloads/10309/
Music: https://rpgmaker.net/games/3758/downloads/10310/

As usual, anyone that is willing to testrun the game for bugs and glitches, feedback, etc. would be highly welcomed! But for now, I will consider the game "DONE". Which...in a way, kinda makes me both very happy and very sad...I don't know how to feel overall.

Yeah, I see the Forest orb requires going through the Lake zone at some point. There's 2 different parts of the Lake Zone as well IIRC. The route to that part requires going through the Village Zone's portal to get to that area. Which means you missed a hidden area in the Village Zone. There is one in the Ruins Zone as well, but that requires you to open the pathway, which the switch for THAT requires you to do the one in the Forest. Yeah, lots of going all over the place, hue.
Yes you are right, thank you very much good sir.
One more question. Are there alternative endings?
There is not. ORIGINALLY there was going to be depending on actions taken throughout the game, but that would've been a massive pain in the butt to code alternate things so it never happened. I am quite curious as to what you think of the game (assuming you've beaten it already).
Yes, i just beat it. Honestly, good job, i like the game. I poured allot of hours into it. By no means do i think its perfect, but that cannot be said about any game.
So, gameplaywise, i loved how every character is unique in battle, and even out of battle, sakuya being used for both. But there where some fights that were either very annoying to deal with or dragged on for too long, mainly the fights with the borrowed characters. There were some really smart fights left and right aswell and the secret enemies are fun to fight too. To map design, well i didnt like that some parts of the mandatory exploring involved going out of bounds through invisible tiles, especially in the remains of hell. Most puzzles are fun and feel good to solve.
Now to story and the general writing. Its was a joy to go through it, honestly amazing job 10/10. You captured the touhou characters very well and even the original character's involvement felt natural and in no way forced. Usually when i see fan games of a francise that involves original characters i expect the worst. Thats not the case here. Also i cried like a baby at some scenes and it felt satisfying to get back at the evil doers when the time was right. My absolute favorite moment is when Cirno And Yuka fight Order and that "Devil in decline music" kicks in.
I cant give a review without adressing the bugs. After the update, there weren't too many, but some very bad ones. For example some events triggering before they should. There is a bug where after defeating the watter stone, where if you go towards marisa's and hope's quarters seiga's event triggers before it should. Also the ruins of vina being skipped threw me off and i abandoned the game for a while up until i figured to ask you about it. Also i found it funny that after hokai, if i interact with the portal to pandemonium byakuren's spirit tells me that its a bad idea to go back even if she isnt there.
Through my playthrough i figured that the best way of dealing with things is turning Youmu into a living god. I almost one shoted multiple bosses without buffs or the like. Trully Youmu has been the MVP of this run.
Overall, it was fun, despite the current situation with Covid, this game made the isolation feel less bad. Thank you for making this game, bless you m8 and head's up!
How much more coding would it take to get every menu to have cursor wrapping?
Be able to change the order of sorting for items, or have different menus for different item types similar to pokemon's backpack?
(Haven't even touched RPG maker in the slightest)

Learning/upgrading a bunch of spells is really annoying because I need to scroll down for ages...
Hello i have trouble beating Alice in Pandaemonium no matter how much damage i inflict to her she always heals up back to full health is there any trick i can get rid of that heal?
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Yes, there is indeed a trick. It involves killing the dolls. Good luck!

That's the problem some of the dolls uses self destruct sometimes and even if there aren't a single doll on field she still heals back up to full health.Hmm i might need to do something in area in order to get rid of that status.
It's the same trick with dealing with her in the past, actually. If you remember how the fight went with her in a specific past encounter, it's similar to that.
So finally managed to get trough all the stuff i needed to do including defeating Shinki. Now i'm stuck can't seem to find a way in to Silent Shrine in Makai something tell me i will need go trough the dungeon with tanks there.
Hello Xenomic

I ve finished the game (GG for the game) but the end of story let me perplexed (SPOIL)

There is really no ways to resurrect all people dead from Pandora ?

Ive seen that all the people are still dead and judged in the place of afterlife. By the way, when and how did Letty and Iku died because ive seen there spirits with the other characters dead ?

Ive seen a dungeon uncharted at north east of Gensokyo with 4 castles and no way to access them.

Ive seen one of your video on youtube with all temporary playable character, including Eiki and Eirin, two characters Ive never played during the game.

I assume that every characters dead will be ressurect in another end

Which actions I need (or i needed) to do in the game to change the end ?
Hello I really want to play this game, but the thing is that the music is not playing, like none of it. The sound is working, but not the music, please respond to this.

You have to download the music separately and put it into a folder called "Music" in the main directory (it cannot be inside any directory inside the Music folder).
