This game is a tribute to the old school program RPG Maker 2000 that I used to live off of back in the day.

KEEP IN MIND THAT YOU MAY NEED A FONT PATCH FOR THIS ONE!
https://app.box.com/s/39b5a2b5219b0d9b310e THIS PATCH WORKS GREAT!

REGULAR VERSION;
http://rpgmaker.net/games/3766/downloads/3732/

In this quest you play as a Dark Elf named Dagree. He's a simple treasure hunter who is normally feared by humans. For some reason, the citizens of Vitality Island aren't scared of him except for the naughty Royal Family. Along the way you can make choices in the game that determine what side character you'll end up with.

The story itself is easy to follow and doesn't really need to be serious.
Most of the characters that you talk to probably rode on the short bus.

Notes for the adventure; Other main characters come into the play as well. If you join up with the wizard he'll have his own problems that come into light during the quest for you. If you kill the wizard you get a thief to replace the loss. If you don't talk to everyone, future quests won't become available and you'll miss out on items, weapons, or hidden bosses. There are also abilities that your characters can learn (pushing stones, raiding houses). I'm going to guess that the game time runs at about 10 hours long or so.

2013 VERSION;
Even though I'm working on Epic Elf 2, I had to return to this project simply because I enjoy playing around with it. I think that it's finally time to move on. If you enjoyed Epic Elf, this version will entertain you as well!
I fixed up the story, added more mini quests, enemies, jokes, bosses, blood, creepy stuff and secret items. Enjoy! Dagree gets a happy ending in this one!

So the "Fixed Version" of Epic Elf is done!

I just submitted the (hopefully) final version of Epic Elf.
So, it's a little easier and a few extra things were added, like a side quest in Limbo and an extra cut scene with Daploma. You will be able to use your old save file incase you were wondering.
So I hope that helps those who had a hard time with the game, and if there are still minor glitches . . . . damn it!

It's a bit of a downer to fight this guy. Remember when you created him, you knew what his weaknesses were and played it accordingly. For regular players who have no idea what to expect, it is almost pure luck if he is beaten.
When we buy better weapons/armor/scrolls etc we buy based on better hit points, speed, etc. When you say he is weak to blunt force, at this point my equipped and accessible weapons are slashing swords, claws, rods and there is no way to go back and buy any other weapons.
All that is left is to grind enough for the next hour or so to gain enough HP/EXP to turn the edge and buy more supplies etc. and at this point I am not sure if those will be raised enough even then to whip his mangy arse.
Are any more skills/spells learned after level 30?
I know...theres no doubt a ridiculously simple answer to these which my old and decrepit mind totally overlooked.
I have really enjoyed this game from the beginning of the demos to this point!
If you killed Calvin or didn't have him join your party, Kint becomes available at the bridge. Calvin re-joins your group in the Camper's Rest area. He's good because of his "Stupid" spell that lowers enemy magic attacks and it even works on bosses. If you have Cludd I would cast Rage Machine at least 3 times on the party to raise attack power. This is a good tactic if you have the claw that does two strikes. Jinya will have more to say when you beat that vile Knightmare. Since you have Borgan the only thing he's good for is getting first strikes on battles.
I havent even seen a KINT....I have BROGAN and CLUDD. CALVIN left and I didnt realize he was available again, since he doesnt ask or offer or anything.
So how do I get the game to continue...when does JINJA give more dialog?
Yeah and I thought it would be easier if those enemies stayed dead! Which character did you end up with? Kint, Borgan, or Calvin? Each one has their own little bonus. And once you beat that evil Knightmare you won't have to worry about a super hard boss for awhile. He's kinda like the guardian of the treasure that will turn everything around! You'll see! I do plan on making a "fixed version" of the game after I get enough feedback! So far it sounds like the difficulty needs to be tweeked, however the game can be beaten at level 40. The main trick is to buy as many Life Boxes as you can!
Thanks for NOT having them respawn! 4000?.....so its going to be a lot of luck in that fight. So after that does Jinja take us to the next part of the game?
One thing that may help at this point is there is a man who sells Life Boxes south of the Unknown Site. I never did make creatures respawn in that level, you'll have to go back to the desert to rack. As for the Knightmare, he's weak against Blunt weapons and holy scrolls (unfortunatly there's a limited supply of those). Every third attack he'll use a curse scroll so I'd have a buncha DeTox and Cure 3 scrolls handy. After chipping 4,000 Hp at the boss he'll croak. I'd say you are about 2/3 through the game. I never really had anyone besides me test the game this far so I wasn't sure if it would be hard or not.
In JINYAS FORT she says we will be busy in the morning, heal up, etc...but I dont see a progression. Theres the pool to heal up but no place to wake up next morning. What am I missing (something ridiculously obvious no doubt)? Is it tied to going first to UNKNOWN SITE and beating the KNIGHTMARE? And THATS another thing...that bugger simply kicks me from one end of the game to the other. I am level 30 with nearly everyone and even the other is level 29. I have tried BUBBLE SCROLLS, SKILLS, SCROTUM LICKS and he just sits there and wipes me out everytime. I am thinking maybe the knife which might instantly kill is worth a try. Fortunately nothing in the cave respawns!
At this point in the game is it about 1/2 way through or almost over?

Wow, another game about misunterstood dark elves. Didn't think I'd see that.

I still think it's funny that this was the first response I got!
Thanks! As my mentor once said, "The only reward for finishing a game is when the player enjoyed the damn thing!" So . . . now I'm gonna take a break and play other projects for a while!
Lol, I was wondering when you'd finish this~ Good job! :D
Thanks! The game took long enough to make (I started in January)! It still doesn't feel finished! It's like that feeling you get with FFVII's last disk.
And . . . it's done! For now, anyway. Someday I may go over all the glitches (that I haven't found yet) and add a few more things, but for now . . . I'm going with this version. Have fun!
I think I'll finally have this game done by this weekend! All I have to do is work on the ending. Everything else is good to go!

Yo! Check out my NaGaDeMo project, Grissan!
I had to take a short break on Epic Elf to try something new.
But don't fret! I'm still gonna have Epic Elf finished up soon!
Right now I've been having fun making Grissan. It's neat I think.
8O damn bigtime! That comment almost gave me a panic attack! lol
Well, now it's 71. The party is over.
