THIS GAME DEALS WITH THEMES OF RAPE AND HAS GRAPHIC CONTENT AND IMAGERY.
(No nudity or anything pornographic)

Anonymous Agony is an episodic, modern, story based adventure game.

Anonymous Agony follows the parallel stories of a serial killer named Haze Stratos and a child psychologist named James Samson who is tasked with tending to Haze's sister Clara, who was a victim of a sexual assault.

During the Haze Stratos sections, players will engage in simulated chat rooms, and take on the role of a serial killer and attempt to evade the police, during the James Samson sections, players will learn real psychology lessons and engage in simulated psychology sessions and be tasked with helping other people.

The story will switch back and forth between both sides of the story with each episode.

Haze and Clara don't have the best parents in the world, between their regular drug dealings, and other shady activity, but despite this, Haze and Clara
go on living. Haze, an eighteen year old punk just starting starting to grow
up holds a deep bitterness for the world as well as his parents. He tries to protect his sister from the evil in the world he has experienced first hand. Clara, a ten year old girl just starting middle school that's very grown up for her age spends most of her free time online chatting with friends.

One day, Haze returns home to find that his younger sister has been raped, Haze discovers soon after that it was by a person she had been talking to online. After much strife, Clara is sent to a mental hospital to recover, Haze begins using his sister's online screen name to lure out other internet predators in hopes of, in his own way, getting revenge on the world.

Anonymous Agony follows the parallel Stories of Haze and Clara.
As Clara heals and heads towards eventual recovery, Haze heads towards his own downfall.

Anonymous Agony re-formed.

Anonymous Agony is no longer an Episodic game. Producing a game the length of the original plan would be far too ambitious since the loss of some team members that could not work on the game.

Anonymous Agony will now be a single game the length of 20-25 hours. The equivalent of 5 of the original length episodes. We're recruiting help of course, most of the original material is already complete, and the positions will be payed.

We need illustration artists, eventers, and level designers.

@Bakutex I agree that the subject matter is adult oriented in nature, but my problem is that the game seems rather light hearted from what I've seen with regards to the gameplay footage so far.

If it takes place before the rape and everything afterwards would adopt a more serious tone, then yeah I can see how that can work. However if it was to maintain it's whimsical nature through to the bitter end then I would find it distasteful in that respect.
On the other hand, if the game remains whimsical it might well throw the seriousness of the situation into sharp relief by contrast. And are you saying we can't have fun avenging "our" little sister as we play the game? That's no fun. Remember, our hero's a bit psycho- why not enjoy the ride?

The premise is interesting, but feels a little like emotional overkill if you just say everything right at the start. Maybe hold off on revealing that something terrible happened to Clara until after Haze has tracked down a few victims? It puts the reader in the uncomfortable position of starting to sympathize with him.
Kumada, you speak like this is a bad thing. Sometimes the greatest art lies in taking us places we'd rather not go. And does it do such harm to sympathize, to empathize, to recognize ourselves in them, and they in us? For we all have a capacity for darkness. . .
*Watches trailer* Wow.

looks good but the story is really adult oriented, i feel... perturbed to find out a young 10 years old was raped... might give it a shot as well...
This game looks awesome! I need to play it!
"hey, we're going commercial with this"
Oh shit. I missed that. I was too distracted by the pretty pictures.
Huh.

This looks almost like a vigilante version of Beautiful Escape: Dungeoneer.

The stock RPG maker toolset kinda clashes with the gritty/modern thing the story has going, but any game that tries to do gritty and modern with RPG maker is going to run into that problem.

This doesn't necessarily look like my cup of tea, but anyone who'll outright say "hey, we're going commercial with this" on rmn has got moxie.
