The Rune System
You can use the crafting system to turn items and weapons from the dungeon into raw materials - Magic Tears, Fire Tears, Ice Tears, and Lit Tears. These tears can then be used to create new weapons and armor, as well as runes.

Runes grant your characters new abilities to use in battle. After Dungeon Level 5, you'll gain the ability to create Runes.

Challenging Encounters
Just an example here: This is the floor 5 boss (video from an early version: it looks better in final). Each of your characters have a few innate skills - and this boss tests your mastery of those skills:

ATB System
Taken to its logical conclusion: as well as the basic charge-bar, get action, you also have characters that can interrupt opponents ATB bars as well as skills that uses all of your teammate's ATB.

There's a move route to go back three steps, you were probably in the way of something, that's why it'd freeze. Go talk to him from an angle that doesn't cause you to run into anything

It's fixed in the latest version so that if you can't move backwards it just skips the movement.
Also if you notice any other bugs or have feedback I'd be happy to look into it :)
Okay, I've finished the demo. One thing I must say is this is a huge step up from your previous Dungeons games. There's actually balance now. In your last game I'd just spam Thought Beam? (that skill that recovered party MP) and facerolled everything due to class synergies. Now every character has a clear defined role (though you can deviate, it's clear what each character is best at). My only problem is the scarcity of tears, with a game like this, customization should be an award, not a chore. I found myself having to farm for gold near the end due to relying on Puck selling all the tears I needed (didn't help that the price went from 150->250 either). Anyway. Solid game. I await the next update with anticipation

Finally an update. I was starting to worry that this project was on hiatus.
So why do we have to start over? Just curious. I love your Dungeons series, by the way.
Because I moved around a ton of items in the database. You'll need to restart unless you want to have incredibly strange items.

Also don't go on from level 19. I forgot to cap it off, it just loops you back to 18, it's dumb and I should've fixed it before release but it slipped my mind.
Tooltip error on priest runes. At Lvl 2 and 3 Judgment runes, it says it imparts the power of the duskblade. Also Steel Crossbow gives the same stats as the Dungeon crossbow.
I'll fix that in the next update, but the level three crossbow works as intended.

In other news reviews would be nice .w.

Upload a save file or a description, I think it'd be pretty neat to see some discussion on it.

it's like dungeons and dragons, without the dragons.

you've sacrificed half the awesome stuff, but i always liked the dungeons better anyway. should have called it 'dungeons and dungeons' though. that way people would know that whatever they were losing in dragons they were making up the value in dungeons.


edit: on a more serious note, color me utterly fascinated. it's nice to see a project once in a while that legitimately doesn't give a shit about story or graphics and wears that on its sleeve.
