Legionwood 2 is finally on sale!

The day everyone a small group of hardcore fans has been waiting for is here: after almost four years of development, the full version of Legionwood 2 has finally been released. As of this very moment, the game is available to purchase from the Dark Gaia Studios website in all of its indie, SNES-style Role Playing Game glory.

As I’ve posted before, the game retails for $5.99 USD (even though I live in Australia it’s so much easier to handle online payments in American dollars) and you can pay for your copy via Paypal, credit card or wire transfer – it’s all handled securely through the game’s distributor. All purchased copies of Legionwood 2 are completely DRM-free and can be backed up on an external drive or transferred to other PCs with ease.

I’m also working on getting the game available through Desura and its associated portals. The Desura edition of Legionwood 2 is currently being evaluated and should be online within the next two weeks. By the end of March I’ll also hopefully have the game out on some of the larger RPG Maker portals such as Amaranth Games and RPG Maker Web as well.

I first started working on Legionwood 2 back in 2010 right after Legionwood 1’s release. After countless betas and even a complete rewrite in a new engine, I’m so excited that the game is finally complete and ready to be devoured by masses of hungry fans. It’s been an awesome ride working on this game and engaging with all the people who tested its various beta builds – without your feedback, it definitely wouldn’t be as good as it is today. I really hope that you enjoy Legionwood 2 and its epic continuation of the Legionwood canon.

You can start your adventure by purchasing the game or downloading the free demo here. Happy adventuring!

No, you haven't missed it. I'm being extremely slow and lazy with development :p

I only have a little more to do, hoping for a release at the end of May.

Thanks! I'm trying my best to bring the next build to you soon! :)

now.. which one is it =P slow and lazy or best ?? or trying your best to be extremely slow and lazy.. hahahaha....
didn't realize that I hadn't subbed this one. thought I did since I have been playing the first game and have been waiting for the follow-up to it. so I just subbed it now and am downloading the demo.
@arcaneelf: A little from column A, a little from column B... Seriously though, I'm having it beta tested at the moment and reworking the bugs that have been reported, so it's very nearly ready :)

@Bladezuez: Thanks, and enjoy! The new build is coming soon, so keep your save file so you can continue on!
Keep travelling forward and then turn back. The gatekeeper is at the southernmost point.
I am stuck on Map 090... I have tried for as it seems ages without success. Any more hints? :)
Thanks for the game.
I'm sorry, there's no location called Map 090 in the game. Could you elaborate?
Possibly one of the best games out there.
The only thing I didn't like much are some facesets, can I suggest you to use RainbowGrenade's additional parts for them? (a lot of awesome emotions, eyes and parts)

Looking forward for the v4.0 and I subscribe.
Thanks for the tip. I'll be sure to check those additional parts out. There probably won't be new faces in the 4.0 release though -- I'm running late as it is. They'll have to wait until the full game release.

Thanks for playing!
I am sorry I did not make myself clearer before. North of Ferrum there is a place called Northern Keep in whose dungeon you have to get 2 glowing stones on the first level. One on the top left and one on the top right (this map shows up as map 090 in RPG Maker for me).
There is a brightly glowing stone set into the sculpture, but you can't seem to pry it loose.
The hint shows
Keep travelling forward and then turn back. The gatekeeper is at the southernmost point.
There is a boulder, a reset point and 4 arrows and I seem to be too dumb to find out what I need to do and I have been walking around and pushing the boulder around for a very long time now without success ;)
Ah, yes, I understand now. The key to that puzzle is pushing the boulder in a specific series of directions. First, you have to push it from its starting location onto the UP facing arrow. Then, push it two tiles down onto the DOWN facing arrow. Check the sculpture and you should unlock the crystal :)
Wow, thank you very much!
I pushed it like back and forward on every arrow, a few hundred times in circles around the different arrows in different order, but never got to that simple solution, lol
I enjoyed Legionwood 1 but so far this one is much better. The characters and story seem to be a lot better written and more interesting, and I like the Class system.

Anyway, it's nothing major and I apologize if someone else has pointed it out, but I noticed a few bugs.

First of all, if you switch someone besides Lionel as your party leader, his sprite will be replaced with that person's in cutscenes. Not sure if it always does this, but at the start of Chapter 2 I switched Aelia to the front of the party and there were two of her and no Lionel in cutscenes from then on.

In the dark castle area after entering the Eternal Gate, the right room has a chest that says "Got Swift Shoes" when you open it, but none were added to my inventory.

In the flashback at the start of Chapter 2, the hero gets called Lionel in one place no matter what you name him.

In the Ferrum catacombs, the final pressure plate makes no noise and gives no message, but works like it should anyway.

I'm looking forward to the next build!
Hi! All fixed in the version that's coming out this weekend. Thanks for playing! I'm glad you're enjoying it so far -- I've tried really hard to improve on Legionwood 1 in every way :)
Hey Dark Gaia! I played the first the first game and I gotta say I'm loving the second one so far. But I want to ask two quick question: where do you get your music from? And is it ok if I use them in non-commercial projects?
Hi! The music mostly comes from the Newgrounds Audio Portal, though some pieces I commissioned. Since I can't provide you with a list of credits, I'd prefer if you didn't use them by taking them right out of my game. I hope you understand.

Feel free to search for them on Newgrounds, however :)

P.S A large number of tracks come from the artist "Presence of Music" -- Google this to find more.
Help - am stuck in the volcano (playing latest beta) and cannot get through the doors - have found a room with a round rock but it will not move onto the square - nor can find the numbers for the dragon with the skeleton - any help would be appreciated
Hi. The rock not going through the open door was due to a bug (I changed the behaviour of that event during testing and forgot to change it back). Please download the patch to continue.

As for the dragon statue, the solution is to convert the word "gold" into numbers.

It's 715124
Yes got the answer to the gold and got the other disc for 2nd slot - where do I get the patch from and thanks for a quick answer don not worry have found patch
Sorry to be a bother but when I finish in the volcano the screen goes white then I only have Felix in my party and cannot find anybody else - is this the way the game goes and also if I return to the volcano with just Felix the game repeats itself and does not move forward
Hi. I had to remake that whole last encounter after accidentally deleting it and I didn't have the time to completely test it. The beta is supposed to end after that fight -- you're supposed to get a couple of cutscenes afterwards. Let me see what the problem is and I'll fix it.

EDIT: Not sure what the problem was at all, since it worked for me during testing, but the morality system seems to be mucking around with the switches that trigger those cutscenes. It's fixed now, please download the 4.2 patch to see the Act end cutscene.
Many thanks is working now and I have finished - am looking forward to the next installment.p.s how's the study going?
