Future games?

Hey, everyone!

I've been hard at work planning my next two games. The first will be more of a side-project that takes place in the same universe and will hopefully not take very long to make, although it is quite ambitious. I plan to post more information on that soon. The second will be a direct story-based sequel.

My question for you all is, what would you like to see in future games? What improvements would you like to see? Anything that should be changed and anything that should be kept? What worked and what didn't in Exile's Journey?

Feel free to post any thoughts you may have - I'd like my next games to take everything this one did and improve on it immensely!

I hope you are all doing well!

There is so much I am proud of in Exile's Journey, but also a lot of I'd like to improve or expand upon, and some things I plan to change completely as well! But, while I work on my design documents and such, I'd like to hear some feedback from you as well.
I'm glad you're continuing the series! I have yet to finish the first game so I don't know if some of these opinions will change later on, but these are the things I liked the most so far:
- The overall gloomy atmosphere
- Dungeons and their puzzles
- The world building
- Mapping
- The more open-ended sections of the game

I won't comment on the overall story and characters yet.

The biggest thing I'd like to see improved is that you'd give the gameplay your own stamp too. Either a mechanic to battles that is unique to your game or some kind of skill system. Maybe the skill system would be the biggest thing for me personally. I'd like to be able to customize the characters a bit more.

But overall, there's lots of potential in the world you've created. The biggest draw for me is that and judging from the snippets of graphics you've shown, the atmosphere will only be strengthened.
double post for some weird reason. sorry! D:
triple post?? something weird happened here!

A very valid point! I do have plans to have much more elaborate skill systems and more unique battle mechanics in my future games. For this game, I kept things simple because I didn't want to end up canceling my game due to biting off more than I can chew. However, now that I know what I'm capable of achieving, I can plan for more intricate gameplay mechanics.
